Waterfront with Hot tub and Dock, across from State Park boat Launch

We had a pleasantly warm fall stay at this lakefront home with the bonuses of having a hot tub and dock access with the ability to use kayaks. The dock has 2 floors, with an upper gate that opens to allow people to jump into the deep lake, as extra fun for kids. Communication with the host was easy. The road in is only 1 lane, but we were lucky enough not to run into any problems with this. The nearby state park is beautiful and has pretty extensive hiking trails.

Access to this property is extremely difficult. Steep is an understatement and if you are driving a truck you can not turn around. The road coming in is extremely narrow only one vehicle can pass at a time and if you come across another vehicle one of you will have to backout..you are literally on a ledge. We were lucky that there was a house two doors down that we could turn around in but if they had any vehicles there that would not have been an option. The place itself was nice enough. The air vent was extremely dirty. See attached photo.

We stayed here during the recent heat wave and enjoyed being on the lake, in the lake, and being able to have our own boat with us to boat around to beat the heat. This was the first time we have taken our young dogs on a vacation with us and they loved the dock and water. The home's AC was outstanding! The driveway and limited parking was a challenge for us having the boat trailer to deal with. We ended up having to store it at a storage lot, which was inconvenient. Other than that, the property was good.

My 20 year old daughter and I enjoyed our stay here. She mentioned that the furniture was “outdated, but okay”. I didn’t mind the older furniture. Every couch and bed was very comfortable! I guess I should start at the beginning. As stated in the description, the driveway is very steep. There is a single lane road that leads to the house. If there had been a vehicle coming the other direction, there was nowhere to pull over. However, we did not see any other vehicles on the road during our stay. The entire house was very clean on our arrival.It was the cleanest rental property in which I’ve stayed.We enjoyed the hot tub and the arcade games. The WiFi signal was great. Each bedroom had a smart television, which was nice. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the dock this trip.The house was very well stocked with toiletries, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies, air fresheners, coffee supplies, spices and more! There was a nice welcome basket for us that we appreciated! There were plenty of supplies for cooking and eating, too.The rental company was great as well! They responded almost immediately when I had questions after I booked our stay. Check-in was easy. I would definitely stay here again!

Very clean and well supplied with all necessities. Enjoyed the stay. Communication excellent. Decided to extend stay a couple days and that transaction was quick and simple. Have already rebooked for future stay. Highrereccomend

Was ok but parking a nightmare Streets awful especially at night no street lights your not even riding on a road looked like a dirt path and covered with leaves the owners need to put a guard rail of some kind to keep car from falling in the lake plus owner’s has parking up above house should put in a wooden stairway to come down to the house no way driveway can hold 3 huge cars like a Ford Expedition and Silverado truck we parked one car and then hiked up the mountain to the space where two other vehicles were parked but we had a great time considering the vehicle issue

We had 4 adults and a 3 year old and 2 dogs for the week. The house was clean,large kitchen area and living room. We encountered rain each day and the effects of Hurricane Helene. The weather could have been better, but we had fun anyway. I would recommend this home.

The serenity house has so many fun amenities for families, including 4arcade games, a wonderful 2 level dock, kayaks and a nice hot tub overlooking the lake. The house had plenty of hot water for our six guests and was very clean and free of bugs The rental company was easy to work with, And responsive to questions while we were there. neighbors were kind and helpful. We we will always look back with good, funny memories on our time here.

Overall the property meet expectations. The home was clean and well put together. Hot tub was clean and fully functional. Fishing was good and easy with a spacious dock. The driveway is steep with limited turn around space but other than that no issues.

Very dated. All of the deck furniture was broken and cushions were ripped. For a property on the lake that promotes outdoor activities this was very disappointing. Inside was dated but clean. Hot tub was filthy and I had to call the property management to come put chemicals in it. It was not safe to enter the whole stay. Very dangerous. Also the driveway is extremely steep. One car maximum. Beds were comfortable. Good thing we were really only there to sleep.

Serenity House worked well for our family during VT's spring 2024 graduation. The property is located on a quiet, no wake zone, knob of Claytor Lake. It was the perfect place for fishing and swimming. The home was appropriately advertised. Both the home and decking are older but clean and tidy. The directions were a bit misleading, Waze actually got us there easily. There should be more description of the very small road leading in, the steepness of the driveway and tiny turnaround areas. It's a good thing we didn't bring our pickup trucks - they wouldn't have made the turnarounds or fit in the driveway. Overall - we enjoyed our stay at Serenity House!
