14460 - Sandcastle On A Hill: Waterfront Private Beach Panoramic Views!
The Space:
Spend time on the water with your family by renting Kayaks/Canoes (Goose Hummock offers free delivery!) and launching them right from your backyard, or booking a Surfing Lesson or Stand-Up Paddle Board Tour from out of First Encounter Beach (Check out Sacred Surf School). Not a Saltwater fan Not to worry, there are plenty of great options for staying on land like biking on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, hiking at the National Seashore, exploring at Great Pond or Herring Pond, or hunting for bargains at the Wellfleet Flea Market!
Return home from a fun-packed day of adventure and head up the front stairs into the main living area. This multifunctional space holds the kitchen, dining, and living rooms-- providing water views throughout! Stay connected with the family as you prepare dinner in the kitchen (complete with a wine fridge!), and they plan tomorrow’s activities around the couch. Set up a potluck on the kitchen island, then take your meals outside to enjoy on the deck (If it’s raining, there is also an indoor dining table as a backup plan.) Have a scoop of ice cream after dinner and watch the sun melt over the bay. Once the sun has set, turn your eyes to the sky and enjoy the magic of a dark Cape Cod Night as you watch the Milky Way dance and dazzle across the sky (Telescopes highly recommended!).
Once the slumber has hit your eyes, head back inside and split out between the 3 livable floors that comfortably sleep 10 (4 bedrooms and a bonus room). The Master bedroom is located on the 1st Floor and sits along the north side of the house, overlooking the Ocean with a slider that opens up to the back deck. It also includes a spacious en suite with a full bathroom, ceiling fan, closet, and dresser for storage. The second bedroom on the 1st Floor in the front of the house and has a Queen bed, closet, and dresser-- guests staying here will have access to the full bathroom right outside their door. Travel upstairs to find an additional sitting space-- perfect for working remotely, and the third bedroom-- featuring a queen bed, skylight, dresser, and beautiful stained glass windows that open up to overlook the ocean beyond and the living room below. Across the hall from the bedroom is a third full bathroom. Travel back downstairs and head for the ground level to find the final bedroom and bonus room. Between the two rooms, you’ll be able to accommodate 4 more in twin beds, with plenty of storage space for all. Window A/Cs in each bedroom will keep you cool and dry, even on the most uncomfortable muggy nights.
The ground level also has a second TV area, perfect for the kids to have a movie night and watch Jaws for the first time, or play a friendly game of UNO. You’ll also find the Washer/Dryer easily accessible in a small room right next to the stairs, and another full bathroom! Other amenities include WiFi, cable TV, gas grill, outdoor shower, dog friendly, and sheets and bath towels provided for each guest.

The Neighborhood:
Bayside
We enjoyed our stay at the property. It was very spacious with beach access only a two minute walk away. The layout and house is also very child friendly which was helpful for us having a 1yr old. When a few instances came up the staff was extremely responsive and helpful.
Perfect place for a large family to enjoy some time away from the city!
Loved this property, great bay beaches, quick drive to ocean beaches.
This house has a unique location… on a bluff overlooking the beach on the bay side of the Cape. There are private, neighborhood stairs leading to the beach just past the house next door. The beach itself was incredibly perfect for our little ones. When we came down mid morning, the tide was out for maybe a quarter of a mile. The remaining tide pools were warm and shallow. The tide would creep back in through mid to late afternoon and the water was never rough or too deep. The house itself is comfortable. We ended up using only the 2 bedrooms on the first floor and the one upstairs. The other 2 rooms are on the lower level are a bit dark. The view of the sunset from the deck was beyond compare. The management company was very responsive in helping us with any issue. We would definitely stay there again.
Sits atop a dune overlooking the bay. Great fun to walk seemingly a mile out at low tide! About a mi from the cape cod rail trail for biking which we biked to from the house. We brought kayaks and about a mile away is Hemenway Launch and had great kayak trips in the estuary to coast guard beach. House itself is very large. A little dated, but has AC and we cooked and bbq'd with great tools and views. Views from in the house and the deck are spectacular - no outdoor dining at a restaurant comes close... my oldest son loved the loft bedroom - he also had to work so the sitting room was perfect upstairs. The master and other bedroom on first floor were perfect. The 2 double bedded bedrooms in basement were fine and my 2 boys each had their own room which is great, however the basement is a bit musty. When we got the dehumidifier going it improved. I like to read books at houses I stay at, unfortunately no books - however a really cool thing is on the road to the house there are 2 (that I found) little libraries in large mailboxes along the roadside you can borrow a book from. Brilliant. Each dog walk I checked out the library. Overall we had a fantastic family experience, in a clean, large house with beautiful views and sunsets...
It was a beautiful, quiet location with plenty of room for the maximum amount of people, which was 9-10. We loved it and didn’t want to leave. Access to the beach was two doors down, but that was just fine because you had unobstructed views of the water.
The view was spectacular. The management was excellent. The home was a little dated, master shower was broken and needed attention. Property was overpriced for the time of year and condition of house. Two nice bedrooms for adult couples. Other bedrooms acceptable for children.
All was as advertised—a beautifully appointed house, with ample space, an expansive deck and well-stocked kitchen. Very short walk to the beach, though some might find the steep staircase down daunting. All in all, an amazing family vacation rental!
We all had the best time and wish our stay could have been longer! We enjoyed the house and the beautiful beach. The neighbors however, were not very pleasant or welcoming to be around.
