We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for fall break.The owner Susie has thought of every detail to make it a worry-free getaway. Spotless and very comfortable furnishings and bed. Susie was also very responsive to questions through the Vrbo app. We would definitely stay at this location again!

This little bit of beach heaven was just the perfect stay for us. I have very high standards for house rentals, and this house reached every one of them. The house was spotless. The host was tremendous and very thoughtful, even with the smallest of details for this house. We will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic stay for 3 nights! The house is a great layout for people traveling as couples or with older kids. The top level has kitchen, living room, bedrooms, and a bathroom. Has a patio with table and chairs and very nice loungers It is accessed by exterior stairs- meaning, the stairs are not inside the house. No big deal, but might make it less ideal to house young kids on separate floors.Lower level has a studio style layout with king bed, shuffleboard, couches, big TV, bathroom with W/D.Outside is awesome! Covered patio with lots of options for seating (swinging bench, bar with high top chairs, adirondac chairs.) Yard is very open.Cornhole is under the bar and easy to setup. Be on lookout for cute tree frogs that tag along though.We kayaked directly out of the canal- very pretty and relaxing. If you are a small person, there are two smaller kayaks for those under 130 lbs. And one large 2-person kayak. Lifejackets are in bin next to kayaks.You can fish into canal...which we did a lot. Caught a couple Croaker and Sheepshead. BRING POLES if you don't want to buy them in town. Lots of great live bait shops nearby.Used the gas grill- and it worked great.Beach is very close, but just a bit far on foot. Very bike-able or scooter-able though. Lastly, it is a quiet and safe area. Most of the neighbors appear to be retired folks or people traveling with kids. Galveston attractions and retail is about 20 minute drive alongside the beach.Loved our stay!

We had such a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend staying here. Host are very sweet and helpful. We came in with our friend for the weekend for the Lone Star bike rally and did not want to be in the heart of Galveston with the crowds and this was perfect! Even did a little fishing in the evening in the backyard and it was so much fun! We will be back!

Our annual birthday coast fishing trip found us at “Our Happy Place” this year. Very clean. Awesome mattresses. Easy access to canals and great fishing. Meow! See you next year

Great communication from host, cute place, good location. As usual with rentals bring your own spices for cooking, kitchen well equipped for all other cooking needs, first time i didn't have to buy TP and paper towels for a 3 day stay.

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at The Happy Place. The house was perfect. Very well-maintained. We enjoyed the kayaks and swimming in the canal. Would definitely return. Also, great communication and responsiveness from the hosts.

Everything about this house was great! It was perfect for my family! The check in process was easy! Anything we needed the property owners responded within minutes! Wish we could have stayed longer ☺️

Perfect amount of space for what we needed in a house. Love the large outside deck space, and clean simple interior. We enjoyed our stay and time.

We were only there one evening because of the incoming hurricane but the house is comfortable and has everything you need!

Our stay at ‘Our Happy Place’ was an excellent experience. The place was just as pictured. It is very clean, comfortable, and has nice furnishings—not the cheap stuff. All the beds were comfy and plenty of pillows and blankets to go around. Good supply of towels for the bath for each of us. Also with a newborn, we had access to a washer and dryer that we kept busy. Perfect location on the canal and minutes from the beach. Sunsets were beautiful and the community was quiet and friendly to us “tourists”. The host went out of her way to make sure we had a good stay. Our stay cam on the heels of a major storm that flooded the area,. She kept us updated as to the conditions of the house and streets. Fortunately, the water receded a day before we got there. The only drawback was the mosquitos, which were beyond the host’s control. The yard was beautiful and large for kids to play in. It also featured a large, clean propane grill. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

Due to a tropical storm, we only had one day at this wonderful home. Susie the property manager, was very proactive in letting us know about the storm warning. Because of her communication, we were able to leave before the storm hit. My family will plan another trip here soon and look forward to using all the amenities.

We enjoyed our weeklong stay at this property. It was nice and clean. The kitchen was well stocked. There is a nice grill in the good sized back yard. We had fun playing corn hole as well. The property is located right on the canal with nice views. You can walk or take a golf cart to several local restaurants, convenience stores as well as the beach. Will most certainly will stay here again. The host was very responsive to any questions we had.
