House in terrific location. Very well stocked. Good layout. Amazing “show” by the water fowl in the lake viewed from the screened porch.
Perfect place to stay...we parked the car and did not use it again until we left. You can walk a few blocks and enjoy all the restaurants, stores and historic buildings downtown St. Augustine has to offer. Wonderful porch to sit and look at the lake and sip a glass of wine. We brought our bikes and rode to the beach. Claire was great and the home was very clean and tastefully decorated. This was my second time staying here and plan on visiting again.
I checked into the property via the host and founds an older property but well maintained. The property appears attractive in the photos and is... until... it rains. The property is adjacent to a pond which has water flow from the Atlantic Ocean in St. Augustine and upon high tide (and even worse, with a full moon) floods the area surrounding the property limiting ingress and egress. I was not able to exit the property at high tide and access my vehicle. Even if you have an SUV, the water will come up to approx. 24 inches of your wheelbase upon rainfall. Please note that there was not a storm during my visit. I stayed one night and sent photos to the owner who apologize and claimed she (Claire) was not aware of the issue (I simply don't believe this as I asked a couple of neighbors who live nearby and they said it happens all of the time to the property). I had to move properties and requested a refund minus a cleaning fee. I received two nights of my three night stay as a refund, without taxes or fees paid, which was less than 40% of my stay. I strongly suggest you do not book this property. Vrbo should not allow this property to be booked through their system.
We visited St. Augustine over spring break. This is a wonderful 3 bedroom home right outside of St. Augustine's historic district. It is an easy walk to town, restaurants, and the waterfront, and a nice place to relax after sightseeing in the busier areas of town. The house itself, is completely updated and beautifully decorated, yet very comfortable. We enjoyed eating our breakfast, and relaxing on the screened porch which overlooked a lake. We would love to return for a longer stay in the future!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property was clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend this property. Just FYI, a couple of the doors would not close and lock; just some minor adjustments should fix the problem.
Folks! No better place to stay! Great location, spacious home, beautiful remodel! And the service from agent and owner is unbeatable!
