We had another wonderful time on the lake kayaking with our kayaks, reading and talking with our family.
Clean, private, perfect location
The house has a beautiful view of the lake from the living room window and it was very comfortable. We settled in quickly. It was fun and relaxing to kayak, swim and fish on the lake. The decks were good spaces to read, eat and look down at the water. The ping pong table was a great added entertainment. David was very helpful and responsive with information. And if you do venture out, check out the flea market, Art of Humor Gallery, Wahoo's for shakes, Anchor restaurant for dinner, Haystack Golf Course, MHCA Dover Cinema and Arts for a movie and Dot's for breakfast.
We loved our stay here. The bathrooms are small and there’s nothing fancy, but it’s a wonderful house with a sunken living room and a dining room above, looking out over the lake. Wonderful views where we ate, played games and read books by the huge windows. The decks are lovely too and it’s a homey, happy place. There are enough boats for everyone to go out on the lake together, and it was a treat having direct lake access. There’s also a trail right near the house so between boating, swimming and walking, one could easily never use a car! We went here after I concluded cancer treatment and it was the perfect place to celebrate and relax.
David's property is a gem on Lake Raponda. We love the area and have visited for many years. This is our 2nd year at David's home. We love being on the lake and the property is as listed. We will certainly be back next year.
The house was clean, well stocked and was homey. There are a lot of stairs going into the house and down to the dock which we knew but didn’t know the hike to get to the house. Also it was inconvenient because you needed to use the key to open multiple doors in the house. But overall it was a great place to stay. There were a lot of outside areas to sit.
First rate cottage, dock, boats, and swimming.
Great spot! This lake front house is clean, well appointed and comfortable not fancy. The view to the east is beautiful and the lake is clear. Kayaks and canoe provided with life jackets. This was our second visit.
We loved this place on beautiful, quiet Lake Raponda! The house itself was perfect for us, had most everything we needed already there, well-stocked, views, activity (boats and accessories, books and ping ping!). Especially enjoyed having coffee in front of the fireplace looking out at the lake (windows could have been cleaner) and canoeing at any time of the day you almost have the whole lake to yourself! Enjoyed the area also. Wilmington and Brattleboro have good restaurants, rail-trails and hiking. Talking about renting here again! One thing I would add to your description of the place is the steepness of the stairs from the driveway down to the house. Anyone with mobility or health issues may find that climb challenging.
Our family of four enjoyed at our stay at this property quite a bit. The walk down to the lake is steep but worth it, as the dock and canoe/paddleboat/kayaks gave us a lot of enjoyment over our visit. The house itself was compact but immaculate. We would absolutely stay here again!
