This waterfront home enjoys an idyllic location on the western banks of Hood Canal, tucked away at the base of mature evergreens with sunshine playing on the private shore. It's a lovely spot for kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, swimming, or simply soaking up the sun while taking in the panoramic view. Be sure to keep an eye out for any pretty sailboats and dolphins who may float by! There's much to explore nearby as well, from Lake Cushman, Olympic National Forest, and Olympic National Park to Hoodsport itself with its quaint local shops and restaurants.

This home is a showcase of its surroundings, best admired outdoors on the gorgeous patios and rocky shoreline. Sip your morning coffee outside on the cushioned lounge chairs, light the gas grill for a lunchtime barbecue, and spend golden hour sipping wine in the sheltered seating space nestled near the water's edge. Perhaps take the kayaks out for a scenic dusk adventure! In the evenings, set the outdoor table for dinner at sunset and gather around the gas firepit to share stories in the salty sea breeze.

The interior is every bit as beautiful and atmospheric thanks to lofty ceilings and a rear bank of windows framing Hood Canal and the mountain backdrop. The living room exudes comfort and charm, offering warm wood paneling, a smart TV for movie nights, and a wood-burning fireplace encased in stone. There's also a lovely kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a waterfront dining space, and even a telescope to help you spot passing otters, osprey, and bald eagles. No matter your lounging choice, pure bliss is ensured every moment of your stay.

If you only care about the location and view, this place has that. When we arrived, the fridge was dirty and there was dog hair in every corner and on furniture. We tolerated it but it was not pleasant. 10/10 for view and location, 3/10 for the cleanliness.

We felt that the house was absolutely adorable, and the location right on the water was fantastic. The only problem was the amount of pet hair everywhere. It was on the sheets, blankets, pillows, and the floor. We attempted to wash the sheets before bed on the first night, but it did not resolve the issue. The floor also seemed like it had not been cleaned at all. It was apparent it had not been mopped because there was a mess of dried liquids left on the floor. We did text the number they provided the first night to say that we weren't satisfied with the cleanliness of the space, but we never heard back from them after they said someone would get in touch.

The view is exquisite, the firepit outside, the easy access to the water, the beautiful hearth, so many reasons to come back. We loved the stay so much we almost took additional days off work just to stay a bit longer.

Love this little home, right on the beach! Great place to stay for a weekend getaway. The listing needs to be updated to reflect the location: it states that many of the nearby attractions are within minutes of walking distance, and they are miles from the actual house. PLEASE update this as it's misleading and causes confusion as to where the actual house is located. The house could use a little TLC, it needs a good cleaning, including the fixtures as well as the screen door being broken, which my husband was able to temporarily fix. The rental company wasn't the greatest to deal with; I sent a message two days prior to our check in and didn't get a response until the day after we checked in and finally had called to talk with them. They use an ID verification company (not VerifyMe or IDMe, but another company) that apparently couldn't verify me, so I had to call and spend time on the phone with them to be 'verified'. They don't make it easy. All that being said, it WAS a great home with beautiful views and a very relaxing place to spend a few days. I would definitely recommend it!

The drive way was surprisingly challenging to get out of because of the limited view of north bound traffic. Thankfully 101 was not busy. Be ready for steps and a workout to unload your belongings. There are 2 good sized spots to park and the stairs are not steep. The house has windows across the front that made the stay a blessing. I watched the sunrise daily and watched tide changes, waves, calm water, otters and sea birds. The cove is serene in early morning and dusk and I took advantage of kayaking. The beach can be walked at low tide and the online tide and wind tables were accurate. It's a quick drive to the local market. We went to the Shelton Dollar store to get a few kitchen supplies while we were there.

If you are used to staying on the Canal, you know some beaches are more accessible and better than others based on the oysters and shells/rockery of the beach. When the tide is in, this is one of the much better beaches. Kids and adults can access barefoot for swimming without too much trouble. The property itself is very well maintained and the area is quiet. There are neighbors who we met but even over the 4th of July, it was felt private. Like almost all cabins/houses on the canal, this property is off HWY 101 so there are large semi trucks and fast cars that pass. This property is great for kids and dogs because it is removed enough from the HWY that you don't have to worry about them getting up on the busy road. If you want long walks on a country road, this isn't the place for your. There are not sidewalks and barely a shoulder on HWY 101. The deck is well appointed, lots of indoor and outdoor eating spaces and lots of fans for the warm days. There is a Keurig in the kitchen and overall the kitchen has what you need for a short stay, including a BBQ and Fire Pit. Great remodel inside. The bathroom is super nice and lots of fun midcentury modern touches in the house. Thanks for the lovely stay!

It's a beautiful home right on the water. We enjoyed all of our meals outside and used the paddleboards. I really enjoyed watching the sunrise while still lying in bed, and we stargazed each night after spending some time around the fire pit. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, but you must bring your own spices, including salt and pepper, and a cutting board. Additionally, we could not find any additional TP besides the half roll left on the holder, all of the cleaning supplies were empty, and the grill was missing a brush. Something red and sticky was spilled inside the fridge, and what appeared to be little kid hands were on the windows when we arrived. The grill also needed a deep clean before it could be used. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, soap, and Dove products. The shower had a large overhead and a handheld and the instant hot water was really nice after jumping into the cold fjord!

We loved this property for our short getaway! Very well appointed with new furnishings and cookware. We saw seals and two families of sea otters that would play right in front of the property. Loved access to the kayaks as well!

Amazing clean comfortable house but did not compare to the outside seating /deck area. It was an amazing view and extremely relaxing. The driveway was a bit hard to locate and very steep but worth it for the house.

We loved staying here. Would come again. The parking was tricky as described, but not too hard to navigate. The property is beautiful. We loved using the paddleboards and kayaks each evening. So many shells and rocks on the beach right next to the home. The house had lovely decor, it was very cozy. Beds and comforters were cozy. Loved the remodeled shower and they had dove soap and shampoo conditioner. We made a fire in the fireplace with the wood they had supplied. Loved it.
