You’ll appreciate the location of this quiet, cozy and beautifully decorated home on Cobb Island. The views of the water, deck to sit outside on, comfortable master bed and perfect neighborhoods to walk in will take us back for a 3rd stay when time allows.
Pros: We were able to bring our yorkie to this house. Cobb island is beautiful. People on the island are very friendly. The local restaurant (Scuttlebutt) has great food. Cons: Bedrooms are facing huge AC condenser of the local marketplace. There is no washer and dryer in this house. The closest laundromat is 40 minutes away. Kitchen is missing some necessities. Highlight: There was someone coming by almost daily to use the lawnmower and small excavator parked underneath the house. Owner accused us of damaging her grill cover, with little communication charged me $50 on my credit card without my knowledge!
We enjoyed the sea glass and books on sea glass. Unfortunately the Cove (coffee shop) across the street is now closed which was a deciding factor for us in choosing this house for our weekend trip. Certainly not the owners fault but want to let potential renters know as this is featured on the listing. The island is cute, restaurants within walking distance and bikes were available for a nice island ride.
One and done with this place. It was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!
Property is in need of an upgrade, a little rundown, maintenance and cleanliness. It is right next to the town, post office and grocery store; this can be a good or a bad thing. The house smelled musty when you open the door. The main bathroom shower leaks, the bed is creaky and not big enough in the main bedroom and the blankets sheets and pillowcases are so old as are the towels. The Rooms are a little dirty with insects and dirt in the corners and very dirty in the windows. The dock is full of green, slime, broken steps and unable to really use from the water. Very disappointing for the price.
We enjoyed the warm April days on the deck and the pier, and location was great for seafood dinners. Easy drive north to LaPlata and south to the Northern Neck of VA to hunt shark teeth. Cottage was well decorated, clean and there was room for everyone to spread out!
Perfect little house right on the water. Rooms were clean and spacious enough for adults. There was ample parking and plenty of amenities. Easy access in and out and a beautiful setting.
We enjoyed our stay so much! Caught blue crabs off the dock, rode bikes around the island, and walked to several great seafood restaurants. We would highly recommend it. We may bring other people to stay next time.
The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed a peaceful couple of days. Having access to kayaks was a bonus.
We are originally from MD so this was a place to stay while visiting. The biggest thing I miss, other than family, is the water so this helped with that. We were able to have family visit us and fish on the pier. The coffee shop and restaurant are across the street. Such an awesome location!
Well-equipped cozy cottage with many recent updates. We appreciated the excellent location, large pier and quiet neighborhood. During the time of our visit the grocery store was under construction so eating out was essential. Ledo's inside the Rivah Marina was a treat. Also had a good burger and Steak and Cheese sub at Captain Charles. Food at Captain John's was expensive and just ok. Bonnie was a perfect host. We do feel the extra charge for our little maltese was excessive and I can't imagine what extra cleaning was required. In fairness however, we understand not all pets are perfect guests like our Kirby
Charming cottage with nicely renovated upgrades and relaxing water views. Loved relaxing on the dock and watching the boats floating by. Enjoyed using the bicycles to ride around the island and the restaurants nearby were a nice convenience. Definitely a nice location to recharge, reconnect and relax.
Absolutely great property! Amazing seafood restaurants two minutes away. Beautiful water views from the back deck. The home had everything you could ever need. Anyone looking for a cozy quiet getaway would love to stay at this property!
This place was perfect for our needs. Can't beat the location, my son loved fishing off the pier and I enjoyed morning with the blue heron and jumping fish. Super comfortable bed and beautifully decorated, plenty of space. The bikes were an essential addition that we enjoyed! Owner very accommodating and good communication. Please note there's no laundry facility here if that's important to your stay. We will be back!
This beautifully decorated home was perfect for our long (4th of July) weekend. Home was walking distance to everything. This home was equipped with everything we needed to make wonderful memories. We lived on the deck and pier. We prepared many delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. I rested so well and woke up so refreshed. The host Bonnie was so hospitable and a delight making us feel like family. 100% Customer Satisfaction. We will certainly return.
Beautifully decorated and beautiful location! We had another VRBO cancel on us last minute and Bonnie was fantastic in coming to our rescue with this gem! She went out of her way to help secure a kayak at the last minute (and while she was also on vacation)! Cobb Island is a fantastic getaway with great seafood and music, sunrises and sunsets and quiet walks around the island. Highly recommend!
