Waterfront Cabin on Lake Buchanan

My husband and I brought our grandkids, 5, and 7 for a holiday in June. The property itself was clean and reasonably well-appointed. The deck is new. It does have a narrow spiral staircase to the loft which worried me with young children, but they did alright. Also the large windows up in the A frame need a way to keep scorching sun out. Beds were really comfortable and the washer and dryer were nice to have. The kids loved the jacuzzi. Kids also had a blast in the sandy beach. We also were able to hunt for arrowheads with the low water line. The outlook, across to open fields was nice and we enjoyed their horses, to give carrots and apples. We saw a road-runner. The downside of our stay was that the lake was SUPER low due to the drought and the zebra mussels wreaked havoc on our hands and feet while swimming. It was SO low that the entry was narrow and rocks were covered. Creek sneaks are a MUST. We brought a jet ski and kayaks and were able to enjoy the lake. The owner was kind and helpful and we would love to go back with more family renting the house next door (also their rental) when the water was higher. This is clearly not the fault of the owners, but renters need to watch the water levels.

Such a beautiful property. Quiet and secluded without feeling like you are in the middle of no where. Would stay again.

Our family of 5 had the most wonderful and relaxing experience staying at this cozy lake house. The splendour of nature around, waterfront and open sky views were a treat for us and the sand beach is ideal for younger children! We will be back for sure, thank you!

The property is perfect for a relaxing weekend on the lake. The location is excellent. Secluded but not…even though the owners and another rental house share the property, it felt secluded. Thanks Sheri and Alan for sharing your property!

Absolutely wonderful! Right on the water with privacy and a well cared for lake cabin. Owners were very welcome and friendly. What more could you ask for?

This was a delightful place to get away and relax! We enjoyed the lake, the comfortable bed and the well stocked kitchen.

We had a great time. The area is kind of secluded so you don’t have all the boat traffic right in front of you. We all had fun swimming and playing in the water. We took our tritoon boat and anchored it right in front of the house. It worked great. Would definitely come stay again.

It was a nice place to go and get away for a little while. The girls played in the water for hours every day while we were there.

Would rent again

We had such a great time at Sherri and Alan’s. The house was perfect for our family of 4. So much room! Our teens loved the loft upstairs. The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed kayaking, swimming and fish. The house was so well stocked and we loved the hot tea selection.
