Newman Lake, Washington
You won't find anywhere closer to the water! Our cozy 1924 craftsman, three bedroom one bath, waterfront cabin is positioned on the waters edge with the lake surrounding three sides of the house and water views from every room. It comes with a private dock to watch the sunset or take a plunge in the lake from, two adult kayaks, one youth kayak and two stand up paddle boards for your use, and a shared sandy beach adjacent to the cabin. It is located on Newman Lake, about 15 minutes from I90 and just a short 30-40 minutes from downtown Spokane or Coeur d'alene. Perfect for a romantic getaway for two OR a family vacation! Sleeps up to five very comfortably.
Need quiet time There is nothing like sitting on the deck that overlooks the lake and listening to the waves crash along the base of the house while being positioned over the water. Like to fish Try a relaxing evening fishing from the deck while watching an incredible sunset over the water with views of Mount Spokane and both arms of the lake in your view. All bedrooms have a view of the water, let the sound of the waves gently lapping against the house lull you to sleep.
Stay in a piece of history! This cabin hosted Bing Crosby during the summer months when it was McFaddens Resort and even played for the locals from a floating dock directly in front of the cottage.
The house has three equally sized bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom (shower, no bathtub). The "master" has a California king pillow top bed with a small armoire and east facing water views, bedroom #2 has a queen bed and a tallboy dresser and windows facing both north and east extending over the water, bedroom #3 has a double bed and small dresser with north facing views and also extends over the water. The wrap-around deck overlooks the private dock for fishing, watching a sunset, or just watching the kids swim. The house has a small galley kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stove/oven, toaster, coffee maker, blender, cooking and baking supplies/spices, pressure-cooker/crock-pot (similar to an instant pot), dishes/cups/silverware (of note, no dishwasher). The patio has seating, extra card tables and chairs, lounge, and gas BBQ and granite table with built in fire pit for your use. Heating is provided by baseboard heaters and a fireplace (firewood will be provided), no AC but fans are provided in the summer months however the house cools down nicely due to the cooling effect of the lake.
The house comes with use of two adult kayaks, one child kayak (150 lb weight limit), 2 stand-up paddle boards and access to the shared sand beach (directly next to the house). The beach has gradual sandy sloping access into the lake and community dock with diving board (seasonal). There are plenty of shared sand toys for the kiddos, as well as toys, board games, DVD movies, a record player with records, and beach or water items available for your use (note no cable TV and limited cell service depending on provider, WiFi is not available).
Good to know before you book: the house water supply pulls directly from the lake, there is a filtration system that is ok to use for showers and washing dishes, however drinking water should be brought in. A bottled water system will be provided and refills upon request for drinking water.
Whether you enjoy boating, water skiing, fishing, catching some rays or swimming there's plenty of activities to fill your days!!!
Just minutes from I-90 for easy access to Spokane and Coeur d'Alene! Nearby, you could be racing the Coeur d'Alene Ironman, hurling down nearby Silverwood Amusement Park's Krazy Koaster, or relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of our local parks and conservation areas.
Terrific old home on a beautiful lake. Stephanie was fantastic to work with and everything you might need was provided!
Wonderful old house with such an awesome history! The decor was perfect! Loved all the old photos and the history book on the area. The property was amazing! Right on beach with SO MANY floats and toys for the kids to play with (so don't do what I did and bring a bunch - not necesary). My granddaughters loved the kid kayak - was wishing there was two for them each have one. Stephanie thought of pretty much everything you would need! Nice cooking pans and utensils, great movie selection and lots of games for evenings and rainy days. No WiFi was a downer for our family as a couple people wanted to work from there but weren't able. For the rest of us it was a nice break from the world. :) Stephanie was always prompt in her responses to any questions I had. Which if I had looked at the property rules and instructions - posted on the wall right outside the bathroom - I don't think I would have had any questions. Also had the cutest skunk family come by at night looking for food. And NO they didn't spray anything once. But we had a fun time watching them at night. My only regret is that there are no boat rentals on Newman Lake. I wished we had a boat to go out on the lake and do some fishing. Will plan that better for us next time so as to bring a boat. It was a wonderful place to stay!! Highly recommend!!!! Hope to be back soon!!
My partner and I and our friends had an amazing weekend at this lovely property. The house has an amazing rustic feeling but has all the modern amenities you need for a perfect weekend. Lots of time spent lounging on the long dock, having cocktails on the deck, and playing board games in the living room. The two paddle boards and three kayaks are an amazing perk that make exploring around the lake easy and fun. Would definitely stay here again, in fact we plan too!
Host is very responsive and friendly. We arrived to property. The place is very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable care free stay. The neighbors are very friendly and welcoming. Love the Sandy beach for swimming. Great for small children. Nice new dock and kayaks for our use. Fishing right off the deck that is over the water. Looking forward to many more stays.
Amazing location, clean and simple. Taking a break from Wi-Fi was better than I expected! The dock is awesome and private with all the toys you need…great property, great neighbors and even better owners! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend
We had an amazing time at the Cabin! Beautiful location right on the water and the house was so cute. Our family owned one of the cabins on McFadden's Bay in the 60s and 70s so it was a flashback for us and it was great to see that some of the same families are still there! Stephanie was super nice and very accommodating, it was great to meet her and her kids. We will be back for sure, loved every moment and made great new memories.
What a great cabin! Our family had such a great time there.
Very relaxing weekend. Within the first few hours everyone was saying we need to come here again.
The cabin, the lake, the view. Oh My!
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was as advertised. The views were amazing. Very cozy. Would recommend it
