Biddeford Pool, Maine
Elevated first floor unit. Single story! Very user friendly for anyone with some mobility/accessibility concerns.
Perfect for multi-generational families.
Large, sunny open concept living space - dine in kitchen, living room, sunroom - all with views, plus a large water view deck with BBQ and cedar patio set.
Sunny, private, grassy backyard.
Just steps away from the gourmet general store/lobster pound, the gift shop, the working waterfront.
Enjoy kayaking and shore fishing from "the gut" ( also known as Fletcher's Neck on many maps) or birdwatching and outdoor painting in the Rachel Carson/ BP land trust park.
Save money on beach parking permit - it's just a short walk to the finest beach in southern Maine!
There is also a second, locals only, unattended beach even closer!
A great place to take in scenery soaked walks, a leisurely bike ride or just sit out on the rocks!
Plenty of room to relax and still enjoy the indoors in the unlikely event of poor weather!
The Village itself is a beehive of activity during the day, then the streets shut down when the store does, and its quiet and tranquil! Just the stars and distant lights twinkling on the water.
Firs rate location, very nice place and host
A comfortable home with a water view. Just steps away from Goldthwaits store and an easy walk to the beach. Anne is an accommodating hostess. Looking forward to returning next summer.
We had a great week. The property owner was terrific and really cared that we enjoyed our stay in her property. Our airline lost our luggage and she was really supportive and helpful while we sorted it out with the airline. Her property is extremely well cared for, well stocked with kitchen supplies, pretty views of the harbor and a clutch location in the little town … Easy and short walk to beach, coast and town. Thank you very much for a great stay.
This was a magical property! All Five star. Anne is gracious host.
A relaxing home close to The Store with beautiful views of the Pool. Easy walk to the beach. Friendly and accommodating owner. Looking forward to going back next summer.
Anne's place was fantastic. A beautiful view of the water, comfortable beds and seating, great light, and lovely plants and landscaping inside and out. I also liked how many books there were to learn about Maine and all the wildlife we might see! We didn't get a chance to check out the private beach but the larger one is just about a 10 minute walk and is wonderful.
Great location, very clean.
Fantastic location, easy access to sandy beaches as well as wave beaten rocky shores, fully equipped home and kitchen, with super helpful owner on site. Local grocery store just two blocks away offers fresh lobster, a great wine selection, and even WSJ and NYT. Flat and uncongested roads allow long bike rides along the shores toward Kennebunk Port. This house is truly a home and is lovingly cared for, and it shows! We'll stay here again next year!
The house was exactly as described. It was spotless and extremely well stocked. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. We enjoyed the yard where our granddaughter came to play and it was a short walk to a beautiful beach. Just a few doors down is a take out/or picnic table place to get fresh lobster or other delicious meals. The major market is about 20 min away. Anne, the owner, lives upstairs and is very friendly and available but not intrusive. She went out of her way to be sure we had absolutely everything we needed but other than her tending to the garden, she leaves the grounds to her guests. We had a great time!
If you wish to experience what it was like to live in George Orwell's 1984 , then rent this cottage. First and foremost. This is an owner occupied rental unit. as apposed to being the 48/48th picture. it should be bold print, highlighted. posterized. this lady lives above you and basically watches everything you do. Arguably the least inviting, and private experience i have had on a vacation. During our stay, we found two surveillance cameras inside the unit. one, was placed on the inside front stairwell, ascending the stairs to her unit on about the 5th step. it faced the door so every time you walked inside you got hit with a spotlight. the second, was on the table by the window mixed in with the plants. out looking the back deck. neither of these were disclosed upon our entry. she called and complained to the parking cop because my car was parked horizontally at the end of the driveway so i could unload after the beach. it was a 40 ticket. to be in the driveway, of the house i spent two thousand dollars on. the parking officer literally said, and i quote someone called to complain about your car. i wonder who that could be Anne? This home owner entered the unit at least three times while we were not home. one time to close the windows becuase of the potential forecast, even though i had expressed i would be home in less that 5 mins. she went in anyways. the other , unannounced. my partner was showering and she heard the door open and someone say hello. she enters through the utility room door to pick up towels after we leave the house ? why even rent your home if you are going to invade on someones privacy. threatened to evict my family because tobacco smoke was entering her bedroom window. not realizing my family was asleep and there was a family of 7 outside, on their porch, smoking cigarettes. referred to me as dude multiple times on the vrbo chat app. if you would like to be spyed on while you are on vacation. rent this unit. the area is beautiful, my family and i have rented for over 25 years in that area, never again, will anne basset be a name we recommend for any traveler. she should be removed from vrbo immediately.. in fact i already have a claim filed.
