Tucked away at the end of Donner Lake's west shore neighborhood, this darling home truly feels like a wooded escape. It's nestled at the base of Donner Peak, with a large back deck that faces towards the summit. When you step into the kitchen, you'll fall in love with the baby blue details, granite counters, and glass cabinets. The kitchen is partially open to the spacious, bright living room, perfect for holding the whole family. Down the hall, you'll find a full bathroom and three bedrooms, including a master with its own en-suite bathroom. The front-facing bedrooms open to a small patio, a perfect place to read in the shadow of the yard's massive Jeffrey pine trees.

If the lake is calling your name this summer, pack your bag and head out the front door - you can walk to Donner Lake's West End Beach in less than 15 minutes, where you can enjoy everything from volleyball to kayak rentals to sandy space for lounging in the sun. Ok but probably wouldn’t rent again. Too many stairs for one family member

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Donner Lake Washoe vacation home. Everything was to our satisfaction. The only thing I would suggest is that the online listing should mention the stairs to the front door. It was a bit of an issue with us with the kids.

The layout of the home flows very well. We were 6 people and never felt cramped. The back patio is a nice size and stepping right off onto the sloping mountainside was a plus as we hiked from there. Property furniture needs upgrading as two pieces had broken legs and beds rolled to the middle. Property managing company is aware and trying to guide property owner in this direction. Neighborhood is lovely as well.

We went primarily to learn more about the travails of the Donner party and explore their campsites. Unbelievable what they endured. Nice cabin and great location for whatever you want to do.

The property is charming. The back deck was a highlight for us. One of the queen beds did not have a bed frame and rested on the floor. The listing says that there is a dishwasher and there isn't one, but there was equipment to wash dishes by hand. Since there isn't A/C or fans, we left the windows open and it was comfortable. We were able to use the internet, but could not figure out how to work the TV. The West End Beach was packed and did not appear to be enforcing physical distancing during the pandemic, so we did not use it. Local hiking trails were easy to find and not packed, so we enjoyed them. The Little Truckee Creamery is a treat not to overlook.

Great location, cozy cabin but very old. Furniture a little unstable and kitchen lacking some essentials; i.e. coffee grinder. Cabin did not have cable so recommend bringing fire stick, or Apple TV If you want to watch tv.

House was fine and simple. Check-in process confusing. Apparently I was sent an email on June 26 that I needed to sign in order to get check in procedures. I never saw it. Two hours before checking in, I called the property management company to ask about check in and they said they'd resend the email, I needed to sign then they'd send check in process. Once I received I realized I had to drive 15 minutes on the highway to get keys (never heard of that before). There was no air conditioning and no fans so 80-90 degree temps were a bit uncomfortable. There were no wifi instructions during our stay, no posted information for anything. There were no check out instruction for dishes, towels, sheets, trash so we guessed at what to do. We had to drive keys back to property management upon departure (adding 30 minutes to our trip home). A fine trip with some frustrations.
