Given the huge demand for indoor entertainment options as well as enjoying the great outdoor environment provided by Walloon Lake, we've re-imagined the lower level of the property to include an awesome game room with billiards, ping pong, shuffle board w/ bowling, digital pin ball and darts along with the big screen TV and wet bar. After a day on the lake or on the slopes of nearby Boyne Mountain, the fun can continue into the evening without having to leave the house.

So, it truly isParadise Found with 113' of beautiful, wooded lakefront property on premier part of Walloon Lake, nestled next to Mackinaw State Forest. Enjoy dramatic views of Walloon Lake from the expansive deck that wraps around two sides of the house, which is built into the hillside overlooking the lake.

The house is fully-appointed with amenities for a very relaxing stay, including gourmet kitchen with beverage fridge, 65-inch HDTV on the main level and 60-inch HDTV on lower level, Bose audio system on main level, high capacity propane grille, complete deck furnishings, and dock with large boat well and sun deck. High speed, wireless internet and a dedicated work station on the 2nd floor balcony make the house perfect for those on a 'flexcation', who will require some work time along with play time.

Only 10 minutes to both Boyne City and Walloon Village, and 20 minutes to both Petoskey and Charlevoix. And a great location for skiers (15 minutes to Boyne Mountain and 30 minutes to Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob) and snowmobilers (frozen Walloon Lake provides ride-out / ride-in access to Charlevoix, Emmet, Cheboygan, and Otsego County trails).

Kitchen / Dining / Living rooms are open concept with stunning lake views via two 9' sliding doors. Great lake views and very spacious feeling via two story cathedral ceiling toward water. Walk-out lower level also enjoys great lake views from TV area and king bedroom.

This well-laid-out house sleeps 12 and works very well for extended families with grandparents and kids. The primary bedroom (first floor) has a queen bed with en suite and sliding door to deck.

The second floor has two bedrooms connected by a 'Jack-n-Jill' bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed. The other bedroom has two twin beds and one bunk bed. (Note: Walloon Lakefront LLC, which owns the property, is not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur as a result of using the bunk bed)

The fourth bedroom is located on the lower level. It has a king bed, 9' wide picture window overlooking the lake, and direct access to the lower level full bathroom. The lower level TV area also has a daybed with trundle (sleeping for two).

For an adults-only stay, above sleeping arrangements work very well for four couples.

The first floor also has a half bath.

Additional amenities include full size washer and dryer, dishwasher, and tankless water heater providing an un-interrupted supply of hot water.

Enjoy the floating swim platform and tanning area on the dock. Great swimming for family fun with very gradual drop-off. You can also enjoy the two kayaks and two paddle boards located at the shoreline. (Note: Walloon Lakefront LLC, which owns the property, is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that may occur while swimming in the lake or using the kayaks and paddle boards)

We also have a 23' Manitou tritoon with a 150HP engine available for rent during the warmer weather months. Pictures are included in the listing photos. If interested, let us know and we'll share more information with you. (Note: the boat rental operation is a separate entity, independent of Walloon Lakefront LLC)

For winter bookings, please note: Sunterra Trail is privately plowed and sanded - because it is hilly with a couple sharp turns, All-Wheel Drive vehicles with good tires are highly recommended to ensure easy access to and from the house.

For larger groups needing a second house, we also have the house next door available for rent. It's Vrbo listing number is 420929.

Went in the middle of February for a long skiing/ snowboarding weekend, place was great and the hosts were more than accommodating and I can only imagine how pretty it is in the summer but I can say for sure it was beautiful in the winter!

Beautiful large lake view home in a private setting! Plenty of room for eight adults and a golden retriever. Easy check-in and great communication with the host. Lots of games for all to enjoy – ping pong, pool, shuffle board, etc. Really enjoyed the patio with fire pit and plenty of space for all and equally enjoyed the spacious dock for lounging in the sun. The paddle boards were a nice addition! Can’t wait until our next visit!

Beautiful property with beautiful views! It's a lovely, very private property but close to town.We stayed with six of our adult children and had a wonderful time. The house was extremely well-stocked, house was clean, and beds were comfortable. There were extra towels, blankets, and sheets. We rented the pontoon for a day and David was very helpful with instructions and usage of the boat. The lake wasn't overrun with boats either- a few boats and jet skis but even on Labor Day weekend it wasn't crowded. Overall great stay!

Excellent stay on Walloon Lake! House had everything that we needed for our family (6 adults, 3 small children)! Clean! Loved the 2 refrigerators that were available due to the size of our group. Swimming area was very nice down at the dock. Perfect for the young kids! Appreciate the hoist for our boat rental! David was an excellent host. Very responsive to any questions we may have had. Appreciated his recommendation regarding a pontoon rental for our stay. Overall a great stay! Would definitely return!

We rented this home and the neighboring property for a golf centric trip. Both homes are fantastic. The amenities are wonderful and the lake views from each home are spectacular. For what it’s worth, there are multiple golf options. We would definitely rent these properties again.

The location/setting of this house is amazing, and the host is exceptionally cooperative, both of which led to a terrific vacation overall. First and foremost, without the cooperation of the host, this vacation wouldn't even have happened, so he's very good to work with. Walloon Lake is big, warm, and excellent for all kinds of water activities, even in June when many of the other lakes are too chilly. The paddle boards and kayaks included with the house were awesome. The view from the deck was beautiful, and the gas fire pit up there was great for s'mores! The house is perfect for extended family - three floors gave us all plenty of room to spread out and make ourselves at home. All that being said, and as other reviewers have noted, the house is a bit tired, and it has the same issues as many of the houses on lakes in Michigan do. There is a significant ant problem in the kitchen (host has bait out, but those little buggers were very persistent and we had to keep everything sealed tightly), and the basement is pretty dark and damp (not wet, just damp). Kitchen cabinets are peeling, bathrooms are functional but dated, and towels could use a good bleaching and or replacement. There was also very little water pressure in all of the sinks (though the showers were ok and the toilets worked fine). Anyway, overall I would still highly recommend this place because of the host, the location, and the overall functionality of the house. We had a lovely vacation.
