Walk to the Beach 4 BR Beach House with a Private Pool! Blue Bayou

This house disappointed me! The house layout and furnishings was underwhelming. The pool although nice but was not well maintained - there was weeds growing on three sides in the stone ground cover. The concrete surfaces had debris and needed cleaning. There was black mold around the outlet in the living room. The middle bath drain backed up on the first shower and the water leaked through the drywall on the first floor above the dining/kitchen areas. The other landscaped areas in the front needed some attention as well. The sliding door to the pool required considerable effort to open/close. The bed in the master bedroom was so noisy that it would wake up your partner any time that you got in or out of bed. There was no mirror in the middle Jack and Jill bath. Dishwasher was a challenge. The showers were really good - tremendous water pressure and plenty of hot water. Ground floor was convienent. This house was not worth the rental fee!

The house is beautiful and a perfect location. Great size, the property well maintained. Loved having a pool.The bedroom descriptions did not align. The king room showed a pull out sofa IN the bedroom, which is did not have (we had planned for this).The floors were also very dirty. Which I wouldn't have cared about, however, I messaged them hoping someone would come vacuum and mop them and I never received a response. Overall, I think the house is wonderful and so is the location. Just hope they mention this to the cleaning crew and are more responsive moving forward.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Blue Bayou. Loved the house. The set up was perfect for our family. It was nicely decorated, close to the beach, and had its own private pool. We had a couple small issues that were handled quickly. The only thing that wasn’t taken care of was the bathroom between the two queen rooms was missing a mirror. I requested a replacement but was never given one. Other than that any issue addressed was quickly taken care of. I have it a 4 star because of that and because the area around the pool was in need of basic weeding and clean up as well as a spot on the patio that looked like something had spilled and splattered and wasn’t cleaned up properly and had left a big splattered stain. All things that could have and easily been taken care of and should have been. The pool is small but still nice for the size of the house and it’s private which is a huge plus. You don’t get full sun until around 1/1:30 because of large tree on neighboring property which was a disappointment but still gave time in the sun. One plus was the 250 beach equipment and accessories they offer. That was nice. Especially since the house doesn’t have any beach chairs or umbrellas available as well as any pool toys or floaties. All things you have to bring which can be difficult to transport. All in all we enjoyed our stay, loved the house and would recommend staying there.

We had an amazing week at Blue Bayou in Surfside. The area was quiet, the house was beautiful, the pool was perfect, and the beach was a very short walk from the house. We loved the covered porch overlooking the pool. Plenty of seating around the pool. There was a gas grill and we were unsure if there was a tank so we brought one, but it was not necessary. We were able to walk to plenty of restaurants. Beds were comfortable, house was clean and kitchen was well stocked. We would definitely book this property again.

Overall a great experience - great location, floorplan was perfect. Close to area restaurants. The only recommendation was to have pool cleaned mid-week, due to trees hanging over pool.

Great rental for my family we all had our own bathrooms, kitchen is well stocked for cooking, ice machine was nice, we loved the heated pool and the speedy maintenance to fix heater. Walked to beach but ocean was freezing in April. Great restaurants down my beach. Beautiful home thank you! One downfall is I rented all this beach gear and it sat there unused due to cold ocean temps wish I’d known before renting. Also master bdrm tv stopped working. And it’s a pain collecting all the linens off beds etc to place at front door this should be taken care of.

For a family this property is perfect! The proximity to the beach and golf cart rides to all else close by, the interior of the home is gorgeous, welcoming and practical, and having a beautiful pool makes it paradise.

The house was amazing---perfect in every way. Best property I have ever stayed in thru VRBO or anywhere. Surfside Rentals, who manages this property, is horrible. I have NEVER stayed anywhere that the beds were not made when I arrived. There was literally a sack of sheets and towels by the front door when we arrived. We had to lug those heavy bags upstairs to make our beds and put towels in each bathroom. We arrived pretty late, so making beds at 11:00 pm was not a great start to vacation. Same night, we couldn't figure out how to get the upstairs AC to come on. I called the emergency line for Surfside, she took my info and said someone would contact me ASAP. I managed to figure it out on my own luckily bc no one ever called back to help us. Again, house is PERFECT!!! Rental company is TERRIBLE.
