The house was beautiful and easily accommodated our group of 11! Our host, Catherine, promptly answered all questions. The location was excellent. We enjoyed many walks into town and to Lake Keuka!

Lovely owner who was very responsive. Maintenance being performed during our stay made it a bit awkward. Some exterior doors could not be locked because this is a very old house and it was hot so the doors stuck. But overall this is a lovely home that met our needs and we would book again.

14 adult members of my family traveled from different cities around the country for a birthday celebration. When booking a large home, I typically worry that the group might feel cramped - like we’re living on top of each other. This home is unique because almost every bedroom has its own bathroom, so we never felt like we were waiting in line for bathroom time. Also, the hot water held up for so many showers! Two of the rooms are considerably smaller than the others, but luckily my family was very diplomatic when choosing rooms. There were a few of us who didn’t mind taking those rooms. It was unseasonably warm during our visit, and each room had its own air conditioner, making things very comfortable. Because it was so unseasonably warm, the shared rooms did feel a bit warm at times - if you are driving to town, just bring a fan or two from home. Also, the host brought by and installed an additional unit for the kitchen - thank you! We enjoyed drinking coffee in the covered patios every morning. And there are two large living rooms, so there was plenty of space to spread out and visit. It was great having a grill to make burgers and hot dogs. Catherine, the host, went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special. I have to say that she is the best and most considerate rental host I’ve ever had. The yard is large and spacious and I imagine that during the right time of year (too hot for our visit), large groups would really enjoy the yard. Some previous reviews shared that the house was a bit cluttered with decorations but we just embraced its charm. It’s hard to find a large, spacious house that feels accommodating for a big group, and this one fits the bill. Lastly, a recommendation related to Hammondsport: Knowing that many restaurants now struggle to accommodate large groups for dinner reservations, we arranged for a catering order from The Village Tavern. They were wonderful!

We stayed with extended family from all over the eastern US. The floor plan worked well for us and the house had some of the expected unique features of a historic home. It was a close walk to Hammondsport and Keuka lake. We really enjoyed the outdoor space including the pool and firepit. There were several spaces that were good to gather in but the house could use some significant decluttering. There were several pieces of furniture and nick nacks in disrepair that could be removed and make the areas feel more spacious and functional. Also the kitchen supplies could be thinned out and organized while still having plenty of dishes for a large group because there is no usable cabinet space for food storage. Also most of the pots don't seem to have lids. I thought I would offer some clarification of the description provided about the property. There are 5 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The layouts are a little unique with having to retrofit them to the existing structure but are usable. The bedroom on the main floor has 2 ?double beds (maybe queens.) The other bedrooms are upstairs. 2 of the queen/king rooms have a sliding dividing door between them. One of the queen rooms and the twin/trundle room are at the end of the hall and share the bath with the large soaking tub that has a shower handle but no shower. There is a half bath off the kitchen but the sink is not useable due to not being able to turn off the water at the faucets. There is also NOT streetside parking for boats, etc. This caused a significant issue for us as we had planned to be able to park our oversized vehicle on the street. There is a long driveway area that is also shared by the owners and the carriage house (rented separately) but the tree branches were too low for us to use it. (I was told before coming that it would fit our needs and it did not.) There is essentially one way in and out due the to antique fence on the streetside. The owner was very responsive to our requests but she does live on the property (on the back side of the carriage house.) She did offer to cover the expense of us having to park off property which was nice. (We declined.) The property has alot of great potential with some decluttering, basic maintenance, and some cosmetic upkeep. We enjoyed our time here and it worked well for our family. It could easily be 4.5 stars instead of 3.5 with some minor changes.

This historic house is located within a short walking distance to the downtown os Hammondsport and the lake front. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area from our host. Visit the nearby Boating Museum, a hidden gem, and close vineyards of Keuka and Seneca Lake. The house is great for a large group with 7 bedrooms and 6 baths. Our only complaint was lack of hooks and towel racks in bathrooms.

We needed plenty of space for our extended family of 10 to stay while vacationing in the finger lakes region. We were so happy to find this beautiful home was available, and that it had a pool, fire pit, corn hole and screened in porches for our outdoor enjoyment. Inside, there was ample space for us to gather as one large group(meals and games)or have smaller family groupings as well. All bedrooms were spacious yet cozy and had historical feel with very modern convenience. The house and grounds are well maintained and clean, and Catherine was very helpful with answering all questions we had. We found her to be very accommodating and considerate during our vacation, which truly felt like our home…away from home. Thanks Catherine!
