The Columbia River Gorge, with its mountains and rivers, offers the vacationer and recreation enthusiast the opportunity to windsurf, mountain bike, kayak, golf, ski, hike, fish, or just relax in the unhurried pace of a natural paradise. Historic buildings line the beautifully scenic streets of downtown Hood River, with a bustling shopping district featuring boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and no less than 30 restaurants.
There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs.
The Columbia River Gorge, with its magnificent views make this a dream spot for a destination wedding.
Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's latest distinction. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves. To enjoy the view of "boardheads" at play, drive to the Columbia Gorge Sailpark or follow Second Street to the waterfront.
The Mt. Hood region and its more than sixty miles of forested mountains, 77 waterfalls and myriad lakes and streams are a rip-roaring mecca for outdoor adventure. The mountain is home to four ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding.
I want quiet, clean, convenient, and comfortable. It was all of the above. And White Salmon was a great place to eat.
The bridge was out and was told only days before arriving. Found out, all were told a month before for scheduled maintenance. They knew when I reserved the unit on the 23rd that the bridge would be out. The title of the email I received about the bridge closure was titled 'info about bridge'. It came the same day as the checkin email. I read the checkin email. I did not read the email titled bridge info. very deceptive and the commute was an HOUR to the next bridge. VERY POOR EXPERIENCE.
Needed a base camp for Everyday Brewing block party. 5 min walk to downtown White Salmon. Small but great for 2. Lives bigger than it’s size with high vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and lots of character. Good sized yard but grass in bad shape. Good value for the money.
A cute place that had a well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and easy access. The team at Arrived was very prompt in getting back to me when we were unable to get the lock box cover back on. This is a well located place for 2 in White Salmon close to Grocery and amenities. White Salmon Bakery is just off Jewett - Very close . The TV was a little challenging to get all the remotes activated, but we finally managed. Cute place.
Cute, clean, small, but for 2 people it's perfect. Great location to white salmon and to hood river.
We enjoyed our stay but would offer some suggestions to make it even better: have lawn mown prior to guests - grass was too high 10 to enjoy sitting out --men who mowed the day before we left did a wonderful job; repair or remove rickety wooden lawn/porch chairs; offer coordinated towel sets, include more hand towels & face cloths; provide extra box/es of Kleenex; add some bowls & small plates to dinnerware, also wine glasses; include more helps on remotes - ie. must point them at the receiver to work; replace light bulb above oven/under MW; include recycle bags; repair screen fittings so as not to have gaps - great to open windows in nice weather; remove old door mat on top of outside grill and replace with a nice welcoming door mat.:)
A quirky home. We enjoyed it but never really felt comfortable. Giving 4 stars because it really needs a house manual to explain certain things - such as the heating, entertainment system, and access to loft (which should be avoided). That being said, Arrived's Support Team continues to be top notch and rapidly provided us with a space heater when the wall heater in the bedroom broke. Note that the TV does not have smart capabilities and the wifi speed may not be suitable for those needing remote work capabilities.
Positives: Has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nice design job in the bedroom, we liked the skylight. The vaulted ceilings are nicely done, makes the place feel bigger than it is. If you bring a dog, the yard is large enough and fully fenced. Not so great: Windows needed cleaning and the yard needed some TLC - weeds were tall and the plastic Adirondack chairs were kinda grimy and brittle/cracking. There are no mountain views due to surrounding shrubs and houses. Bottom line, it's fine for what you need, a good practical option if you're traveling with a dog. Could be better if they put more effort into maintaining the yard/exterior.
Great location for hood river and Washington wineries- fenced yard for the fur babies although my 5 lb yorkie found a way out. Lots of space and a very comfortable bed!
The property was accurately represented. It was clean, easy to access and had a great location.
This cozy home was the perfect size for our weekend getaway. The location was fantastic, a very short walk to everything! The fenced-in yard was perfect for playing with our dog.
We spent a long weekend here and definitely enjoyed it. The space is cozy and comfortable for 2 people (+ our dog). Everything was clean and easy to find in the kitchen. The fenced in yard was great for letting the dog run around. It is also in a great location within walking distance to a lot of the restaurants in White Salmon. We enjoyed dinner at Henni's and Pizza Leona and breakfast at White Salmon Baking Co! All were within walking distance (if the weather had been warm enough for it). The only small issue was slow wifi (not good for streaming shows/movies or working if that's in your plans). But that was our only minor complaint. Would recommend!
Nice location. Walking distance to Everybody's Brewing. Fenced yard for dogs. Clean house. Small but charming. Would stay again.
We were able to hike by day and walk to restaurants in the evening. The house has a southern exposure, so the afternoon light in autumn was welcoming. The property managers communicated promptly by text. A little updating would be welcome
White Salmon is a cute little town with some great places to eat, the bakery is outstanding and Feast is excellent too. This place is about 1/4 mile from downtown.
Great location near downtown!
Convenient walk to the restaurants in White Salmon and close to Hood River. The place was nice and comfortable. Just could have been a bit cleaner and a few minor repairs were needed. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
