Vulcan's Knee: 6bdrm Mansion ~ Speakeasy ~ Library

This home is over 100 years old, and absolutely stunning!!!! I love this place and it’s a must stay property.

The house was perfect for our group of 9. Spacious and the pool table and ping pong were a hit!

This is the 3rd year my family has stayed here to bring in the New Year together. Excellent as always.

Wow, this house is amazing! I was blown away by how spacious this place is. The historic charm is indescribable without seeing for yourself. My volleyball players, families, and I (the coach) all stayed here and had such a memorable experience. If you have a large group, look no further, this is a must see! Check in/out instructions were simple & clearly communicated. Host was responsive & helpful. 10/10!

House had what we needed--a large kitchen, tables for work space, and the right number of beds/baths. Had we not been in Birmingham for work, we could have enjoyed the front porch and game room more. I would stay here again.

Spacious and comfortable

Wow this house is awesome! From the moment you walk in it is breathtaking. Absolutely perfect for teenagers with games to play and perfect for adults as seating areas all around. We loved it and hope to stay here again.

This was our second stay. The house is so cool and has lots of unique space for spending time together. The house has a great vibe and the owner/manager is very responsive. It's close to excellent BBQ and downtown places. Since it's older, it has charm and amenities you won't find in most rentals. I highly recommend it.

Everything was perfect. Exceeded our expectations. VRBO is definitely the way to go. Our contact agent was great.

I was very proud to have all my family from around the USA and Germany come and stay for daughter’s wedding downtown. Rooms are larger than I imagined, bathrooms were great . We had 9 ladies get ready at the same time . Wonderful memories made at this property.

My family and I had an amazing Thanksgiving stay at Vulcan's Knee! The house was perfect for our family of eight, with plenty of space for our 1-1/2 yr old to run around. We enjoyed the beautiful views and everything to do right in the VRBO. The location was also perfect, close to all the shopping and restaurants we wanted to visit. Here are some of the things we loved about our stay: The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The views from the living room and backyard were terrific. The location was perfect, close to everything. The host was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend Vulcan's Knee to anyone looking for a perfect Thanksgiving getaway. We can't wait to come back again!

A group of us got together for a golfing weekend and had an absolute fantastic time. The house was very spacious and everybody had a room they were comfortable in. Would definitely come back! Also, the hosts were very responsive!

We had a blast. Spent most of our time playing golf but what a great home to come back to for evenings. Lots of room and fun things to do. We enjoyed it!

We stayed her with multiple family couples for a wedding venue in town . The house had most everything we needed. If it didn’t , it does now. :) We loved the spacious kitchen where we all gathered and greeted each other each morning . We did a lot of pre wedding prepping for a rehearsal dinner . Loved the large pantry ! All but one bedroom are upstairs . (FYI -If you have elderly or handicapped.) The bathroom is a tub shower combo though .There is one queen on the main entry level. . Lots of entertainment for kids 9 and up . Loved the speakeasy! Everyone said their bed was very comfortable . Big plus !! I would suggest blackout blinds in all bedrooms, epically those receiving morning sun , but we put our early risers in those rooms. Parking for three cars in driveway , but room on the street and in an office bldg. next door that is closed on weekends. We would come back for sure ! This home would be great for hosting a group of friends for celebrating birthdays, holidays, weddings, sporting events or even a great murder mystery weekend, who did it weekend in the old house built in 1903. This house has lots of potential They are achieving to provide you a wonderful time ! . You can see that the owners are working to restore it. We loved it ! The famous Jim and Nicks BBQ was just a short drive away. Loved seeing the lit Vulcan statue and a beautiful full moon from the seating I. The living room.! Thank you Delaine ! The Thornton Family -

We came to play golf and relax. Vulcan's Knee is big, unique, clean, eclectic, fun and perfectly located for great food within walking distance (Dreamland BBQ)! We enjoyed everything about the house. Plenty of seating for watching TV, having coffee or eating a meal. After 3 days we still found ourselves exploring this massive home. I'd recommend this 6-bedroom, perfectly located, mansion to anyone coming to Birmingham for pleasure. Finally, we appreciate the communication with the property manager - they were quick to respond and accommodating. We'll be back!.
