Stayed Oct 20, 2023The dwelling was very nice, however regardless of how nice a place is, the booking process could have gone a lot smoother. Once you book this place their verification process is less than desirable. Which was painful, to say the least. They want you to use a third-party app that I’ve never heard of and take a photo of your driver’s license (front and back). Then a selfie photo, and a credit card photo. I had already paid in full for the house, with the same credit care two weeks before we arrived. There was no issue with my card. When I was taking all of the photos, and trying to up load them to their app, it failed to capture my credit card. After a few attempts, I notified the company hadling this verification process, and they told me I could drive all the way up to their company offices in Gatlinburg, TN which is 5 hours from my house, so I can show them my credit card! After completing this 5-hour drive, I would then have to drive 3 1/2 hours down to VRBO house. Which would make a 9-hour drive. Thankfully I called the VRBO customer service phone number and spoke to an awesome agent who almost choked when I told him what they wanted me to do. Of course, he called, and they didn’t answer the phone. He explained, he would call me the next day -- Which he did. Magically the folks at Georgia CFY (Cabins for You) emailed me the next day and told me my booking was verified and have a good trip. The registration process needs to be improved!

Stayed Jun 20, 2022This house could be amazing with some simple updates and a serious deep cleaning. The sheets on the two full beds and the beds themselves look like they’re a hundred years old from Little House on the Prairie with literally the mattresses sitting on the floor. Yuck! The master bedroom….beautiful but decorated from the 90’s with disgusting old gaudy drapes that are complete dust catchers. The shower curtain on the downstairs shower stall needs to be thrown away and replaced. They’re literally $5 people and it’s absolutely disgusting. They should be changed after every guest. No one wants to touch that and I felt sorry for my sister and her husband for having to use it. Thank God my mom brought sheets from home for us to use or I couldn’t have slept. My parents had enormous cockroaches crawling across the sink in the master bathroom. I realize we’re out in the woods but still unbelievable. Clean it up please and we would love to come back because we absolutely LOVE Big Canoe!!! Please just simplify and update the furnishings at this place so that it’s cleaner and it could be amazing. Big Canoe is absolutely amazing and we will definitely be back, just not sure we’ll stay here unless they clean it and change some things!

Stayed Aug 2, 2021Loved the house and location. WiFi stopped working one day before we left so that also meant no tv (which was mostly to entertain our 2 year old) usually it’s no big deal but it did rain so we stayed in for a while with no WiFi. Communication regarding WiFi kind of went no where with no further responses. They could use newer pots/pans and kitchen supplies but we did just go to the store and got paper towels, parchment paper, seasonings etc. The location was great and we didn’t have enough time to use all the amenities especially the pontoon boats (people rent out one year in advance) so we will definitely stay longer next time! overall this was a great clean home and would definitely come back again.

Stayed Jun 24, 2021We had a great time! 2.5 days is not enough to explore all Big Canoe has to offer. We traveled with children under 3 so having a floor in between two bedrooms and the game room was ideal for us. We loved all the balconies and will plan a trip back soon!
