The Space:

This 1920's crafstman-style home with small yard is a true gem. As a vintage home in a relatively quiet neighborhood, it's perfect for guests wanting more tranquility than the partying areas of SD.



Enjoy indoor or outdoor dining. The vintage kitchen has what you need to prepare meals from scratch including a spice rack and condiments. The outdoor and indoor tables each seat four.



The cozy living room has a soft, down-stuffed sofa that can seat 2 adults and 2 kids. This cozy little room is most comfortable when the sofa bed is in couch position, however, if you need a 3rd bed, the sofa opens up.





Our 2-bedroom/ 1 bath offers the following:



Main bedroom with queen bed, drawers, closet, a window, access to the bathroom (Tranquila has a second entrance to bathroom via kitchen). It has an air conditioner for Summer. Other times of year, the home stays quite comfortable with natural ventilation.



The guest room offers a tall, full-size platform bed with a lot of space for luggage beneath it. It's small with no closet but has some clothing storage. It has a large window to let in natural light and beachy air. It comes with a fan for cooling.



Security screen doors at front and back of house allow ocean breeze to naturally refresh the home while you're in it or away.



Enjoy outdoor dining with a private outdoor space and a table that seats 4.

Guest Access:

The whole house and one patio/deck are available for your use. Some closets/cabinets are used to store supplies which must remain in the home.



The Neighborhood:

There's a reason a lot of billionaires own homes here ;) The beauty and serenity are not often seen so close to a major city.



Grocery, restaurants, and shops within 3 blocks (availability varies). About a mile to La Jolla cove, seals, downtown LJ, Bird Rock.



There are hiking and walking trails not far from the home. If you travel with your dog you will appreciate the park up the street, and our local Windansea beach as well. There are great coffee shops, restaurants, convenience stores, Valley Farms Market, and massage spas within a few blocks.



Getting Around:

You can do much of your getting around on foot. There is a bus stop about 250 ft away. The cove is about 1.5 miles away and beautiful to walk about. You can pass the seal beach and go on to see sea lions north of the Cove and enjoy. It's just beautiful. The village is within walking distance and has many fine restaurants, shops, and grocery as well as more relaxed eateries, a movie theater, and just about anything one could need to enjoy a vacation or long term stay without a car.

✌️We offer our rentals only to guests who'll keep our neighborhood clean and peaceful. Identity verification is required. While this is a very quiet neighborhood, generally, expect normal suburban neighborhood noise.

Well-trained, friendly pets are welcome. Pet rent is $20/night/per pet. Akitas, Cane Corsos, Chows, Dogo Argentinos, Pit Bulls, Presa Canario (canary dog), Rottweilers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, wild canines or mixes or hybrids thereof are not allowed. No animals other than domestic dogs and cats approved by Host are allowed on Property.



Big group Book up to four of our adjacent cottages for up to 24 guests!



Provided beach gear include chairs, towels, and boogie board(s). If desired, snorkel gear may be be rented at nearby shops.

We cannot guarantee the availabiity of these items for last-minute bookings, but we typically have all of these available. We can connect you with a baby-gear rental company if you need a high chair and other baby gear.



To start your stay, you'll receive a free 2-day supply of essentials like soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.



Save! We partner with cleaners who you can pay directly—no markup, no 12.75% tax, and no 15-20% platform fee. Guests pay just $25/hr (2-3hr minimum), saving $60–$120 on a typical cleaning, compared to nearby rentals. If an alternate cleaner is needed, the cleaning cost will be typical for the area There may be other consequences if a home is left in a state of neglect.



Pet & wildlife-friendly! We abstain from using harsh toxins that will harm pets or wildlife. If a bit of hair or a surprise visit from a four, six, or eight-legged friend might ruin your trip, this might not be the right fit. By booking, you acknowledge that the presence of tiny locals is part of the experience—not a cleanliness issue and not grounds for contacting Airbnb, requesting refunds or leaving less-than-5-star reviews.
