We enjoyed the property, but we’re disappointed that the water was farther away than described.

We spent several nights there between Christmas and New Year and Joy had the place decorated with festive seasonal touches. She's put soft things everywhere -- tons of cozy blankets and pillows and soft 'pup covers' so you don't have to worry about the upholstery -- and the kitchen was well-equipped. Our grown children enjoyed having separate bedrooms and bathrooms, and there were many separate places to sit and read, play games, cook, or watch the fire or the view. Plenty of space heaters, just in case, but the gas fireplace kept us toasty on the coldest, snowiest week of the year. The best part was the views of Double Bluff and Sunshine Beach, as well as the path down to the wetlands. Spacious place, well-situated on the island and on the bay.

My husband, girlfriend, her 8 year-old granddaughter and I stayed in Joy's lovely home for a week in July. We found the cottage absolutely enchanting. It was bright and airy, a bit whimsical with a secret garden, bunnies frolicking on the grass, and bald eagle sightings! The home is decorated in seaside blue and yellow which was very cheery. The views were spectacular from the deck and most rooms. We stayed in for most of our meals and had plenty of pots, pans, dishes and glasses to make cooking a breeze. There is a path to the beach which has easy access to the house and the grocery store is only a mile away. Joy was very accommodating and a delight to have as a host. We hope to return next year!
