Newburgh was featured in the New York Times in 12/20 as "the largest historic district outside of NYC." You will see one-of-a kind free-standing houses influenced by him in this historic district of Newburgh.
This well-cared-for 1920's home is located on one of the most coveted streets mentioned in the NYT article, and a visual delight with original arts and crafts detail such as gorgeous wood staircase, bordered wood floors, crown moldings, a decorative fireplace and original doors. In addition to its visual beauty, this home makes great use of interior space with wonderful entertaining spaces on the 1st level with the living room, dining room, and the kitchen, a bathroom on each of the 3 floors (the bathroom on the 2nd floor has a claw foot tub), 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, and top floor master suite with a half bath. All three queen-sized bedrooms come with a desk. You can see all the way to Beacon from the top floor master suite! The large backyard has a nice patio equipped with a Weber grill for entertaining. You can work on the porch looking at the river (there is a socket on the porch). Other conveniences include a washer and a dryer in the basement, and a driveway that could fit 3 cars. The house is walkable to the well-known Newburgh waterfront restaurant area ranging from the high-end Blu Pointe to Pizza Shop and Hudson Taco with incredible views. Pizza Shop and Hudson Taco (0.6 miles away) offer delivery service and curbside pickup, and Amazon packages get delivered with no issues. ShopRite (grocery), Target, CVS Pharmacy and Rite Aid Pharmacy typically deliver within a few hours on the same day via Instacart. Mid Valley Wine & Liquor (1.2 miles away) offers curbside pickup. There are wineries, farms, hiking trails, museums, and drive-in movie theaters near the house. Due to the covid, we’re taking extra steps to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
My friends and I stayed two nights while on a girl's trip. The house had plenty of room for each of us to have our own room and we could have fit more people if needed. The house had everything we needed to make our brief stay comfortable. The property manager contacted me before arrival with a lot of helpful information and she contacted us while we were there to see if there was anything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place!
Great for our family. Lots of sleeping options. Gorgeous view of the Hudson and close to local attractions. Manager allowed early access to accommodate our needs. Highly recommend!
Loved the Newburgh location and spent the week visiting Hyde Park, West Point, Washington's Headquarters, Mohonk Mountain Resort and Sleepy Hollow and the Rockefeller Estate. Enjoyed several of the Riverfront Restaurants in Newburgh.
The property was exactly as described the location to the downtown area was both close and convenient the area around the house was full of things to do and places to eat
We stayed over a long weekend while attending A day at West Point. This home is located in a historic street, lovely view, plenty of room and very well stocked for our needs! Instacart delivery went fine, and I highly recommend Adams Fairacre Farms grocery. Hudson Taco down the street. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay. Communication with the owner was outstanding in every way. The old house has so much wonderful character and is very accommodating for a group, with lots of space. The location and it's proximity to West Point for graduation week was just perfect.
Our stay here was absolutely perfect. The fabulously well equipped kitchen had everything we needed, the rooms are thoughtfully furnished and beds incredibly comfortable. In addition, our host sent us a fantabulous guide about the area that made me want to come back again and again and explore more of the area. Above all, the view of the river cannot be beaten! Our trip was a writer retreat, so we mainly stayed inside, however, we loved the little al fresco dining area in the back and the wonderful porch (sit with coffee or wine and watch the river!) Cannot recommend the place enough. The building/home is old, and has tons of charm, but has been lovingly maintained!
Great
Our group of 7 stayed for 4 days to enjoy tours of West Point and to watch a football game. The location was ideal ,easy commute to and from the WP. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were very friendly. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the Hudson. And the neighbors across the street had a beautiful cat that would sit on the roof and watch us drink coffee each morning. It was a short drive over to Hudson Taco, the food and atmosphere were perfect.
The house was exactly as described. It was clean and well-stocked with everything we could want or need. The spotless glass shower walls and the sparkling clean white dishes were impressive! Air conditioning/fan in every bedroom was a plus. Sitting on the front porch, sipping coffee while watching the sun rise, was a delight. The street is lined with stately old homes from grander days; there is no house directly across the street giving a magnificent view of the Hudson River.
