Barnard, Vermont
Perched on the edge of pristine Silver Lake, my country home sits on a large rolling lot overlooking the lake enjoyed by many visitors from all corners of the globe.
The house consists of two levels with 4 bedrooms and a bathroom on each level. The upper floor has three bedrooms (queen, full, and twin beds), a bathroom with a claw foot bathtub for soaking, and a sitting room with a desk for writing or reading. All the upper level rooms overlook the lake.
On the main floor, you'll find a well-equipped gourmet kitchen, main bedroom with a full bathroom, and a 40-foot sun room for dining while overlooking Silver Lake. The sun room has a work space. The living room, with a large gas fireplace and comfy sectional sofa, is perfect for snuggling up with family and dear friends; playing board games; lingering after a yummy meal; or curling up with a good book.
The house is perfect for gathering with families and friends and also provides many private nooks when you desire space to be solo.
IN THE SUMMER, enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the garden patio. Swim, kayak, or sit on the dock with a good book. There are two kayaks, life jackets and lots of space for lounging by the lake.
Our Weber gas grill makes it easy to prepare yummy meals for the whole family, while enjoying the sunset on Silver Lake. End the day relaxing around the fire pit!

Wonderful house in cute town with amazing lake views. Diane was super helpful and responsive.
We had a wonderful home away from home in this property. Diane, the owner, went out of her way to make us comfortable & welcome!!
Our group loved this property - it was great a great location for the activities we had planned. We were 3 couples traveling together and renting the ENTIRE home (including the downstairs area) worked out very well for us.
Beautiful, quaint, clean home on Silver Lake. We loved leafing through all the books, and enjoying the peace that comes from a lake with NO motor boats in it. A lovely getaway.
The property is as beautiful and comfortable as it appears in the pictures. Having the lower level all to himself was a treat for our teenage son.
We had a great family weekend getaway at this property. This was a last minute trip that we planned and we were grateful that we could bring our dogs with us! Check in was a simple process as the owner sent us a door code to enter the house on our arrival. The house was well maintained and had everything we needed. We loved spending time in the family room with the fireplace on. We spent one day snowboarding at nearby Suicide Six Ski area which was only 10 minutes away. Highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful place to escape to!
We had a great time at this property, everything was first rate, well stocked kitchen, comfortable living area with a nice gas fireplace. Great location on the lake!
My family was very comfortable in the home. The kitchen was well equipped. The towels and linens were clean and fresh. We enjoyed the kayaks they had available for us to use. The Property Owner was very helpful and accessible. Instead of being out, we found excuses to stay in. It was not just a place to sleep, it was part of our Vermont experience.
Wonderful home on the lake! The house is beautiful, spacious, exactly as pictured – the downstairs apartment is also a great rental for singles or a couple (very roomy and a sauna). The home’s location on the lake and proximity to the general store make for a relaxing stay. We housed two families upstairs and one person in the downstairs apartment for our anniversary weekend (event wonderfully catered at the Barnard Inn up the road). All of our guests enjoyed Diane’s home immensely. Thank you Diane for being such a gracious host and sharing your lovely home with us!
We enjoyed our time - great house and beautiful location! We loved swimming every day in the lake.
