Beautiful location. Delightful wildlife right in front of house. House cozy and comfortable. Glad we arrived in daylight. A little confusing parking and knowing which wheel barrel to use to move luggage. House could use paint update and better lamps.

Beautiful spot especially when the sun came out. Very comfortable. Plenty of space. Instructions to finding the house would have been helpful. It is not hard because it is the first house on the walkway but pulling up to the parking lot in the dark without knowing exactly where the house was was a little confusing. All-in-all a great stay.

Great location & view from property. Need more explanation on listing for parking & how to get to house as was a little confusing. Property would get another start with a fresh coat of paint.

Great location and great house. Loved being able to wake up to little seals swimming by. The island was relaxing and there is a fantastic farmers market on Saturday mornings. Will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay! We saw so much wildlife and loved this cozy spot. Well stocked kitchen with great appliances, comfy beds and wonderful fireplace. We’ll definitely be back! So close to Vashon’s downtown and a great nature getaway. The only issue was some features upstairs that were a bit shoddy. A towel rack was clearly broken before we arrived. This obviously didn’t impact our stay and is something to note.Would recommend to anyone.

Inside clean. Master Bedroom downstairs requires a chest of drawers for clothing. Or racks to place a suitcase on.

We chose this rental because of its location right on the water. It did not disappoint. That said, while the living space was clean, it could use a thorough deep clean. Cobwebs with trapped dead bugs around the brick fireplace, ashes and wood particles on the mantle, the window in the downstairs bedroom was covered in film and dead gnats. One towel per person, no extras; no full length mirror; no comfortable seating on the front porch (bring your own chair); several spiders (bed, shower, kitchen) had to be escorted out. Other commenters mentioned the walk from the parking area - the rental is the first on the “boardwalk” in a long line of residences and has only a few steps to get to the front door - it was not a problem. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen well equipped. Others commented no spices, oils, etc. but we found them all to be there. Possibly a previous renter left them. We didn’t use the upstairs deck at all as it required going up and down the spiral staircase. We had difficulty lighting a fire. It would be helpful to have instructions for using the insert. Even though the flue was open (as best as we could tell) the fire would not stay lit. The main living area is a small one-room living, dining, kitchen, with the spiral staircase. It is very convenient to have a downstairs bedroom with en suite. The upstairs main bedroom with king has a stellar view of the sound and Gig Harbor. It was a short 10 minute drive to town and about 20 mins to the ferry dock.

The directions from GPS take you to the end of a dirt road. There are no directions on the VRBO site or in the emailed directions to explain that. I had to call the owner to finally get an explanation, which was to walk down a gravel path to the house. All four of us are over 75! Hauling our luggage and bags of food were not in our plans! The photos make the home look much bigger and more modern than it actually is. The heating system is funky and the downstairs bathroom was pretty but always cold. I’ve never been to a VRBO that didn’t supply at least one morning’s worth of coffee - had to go to the store the day we arrived! The upstairs deck and steps to the beach were covered in algae and too slippery to even try to walk on. We would have enjoyed sitting on the upper deck but it was too dangerous. Several shades were broken. The location - once you get to it - is lovely.

Pictures made the kitchen /living room area look larger than it was however, we enjoyed the house. The wood fireplace really heated the place up. Would be nice if there was some wood on hand for the fireplace. we bought several bundles from the store overall very enjoyable. We were happy to find the wheelbarrels to carry our items from where we parked to the house made it very simple.

We enjoyed cozy fires and water life views in this unique beach house. Accommodations were perfect for my family! Lovely kitchen, loved the views from every room...even in mixed PNW weather. Best part was looking for shells, crabs, and seastars at low tide. Great place!

First off, the listing should be more specific so that guests are well AWARE that this is a WALK IN property. I don't live on Vashon Island and we had no idea this was a walk in property. So after driving for 12 hours we then learn we have to wheel barrow all of our stuff, including wrapped Christmas presents in the dark, rain and wind. Also the house smelled really bad, just like someone was living there, not at all like cleaning products. Secondly, I sent a message to the property management asking them where we should park, BEWARE the parking sucks here and there are not even enough spots for all the cars that are there. Third, I sent the property management a message about how filthy the house was. The floors were dirty in every single area, corner, etc. The rug was covered in wood material from the fire place which was a mess as well. The sheets in the master bedroom had not been changed. You could clearly see where someone had slept in them, the pillow had wrinkles where they laid their head. So, we then had to wash the bedding. The couch was gross, it had dog hair all over it and stunk. We washed the blankets around the house to cover the couch in so that we would sit on it. Oh and the only TV is in the living room. They did not respond for 2 days and the response was that the house had been cleaned that day. Our reservation was through 1/1/25, we left a day early. We do visit Vashon a few times a year and we will NEVER rent from that rental company again.

We live on-island and had family in town so we booked this house on the water to accommodate everyone. This house was well-equipped for cooking insofar as cooking utensils. Be sure to bring your own necessities, like oil, salt, and sugar. It was very comfortable—beds and bedding—and there were climate controls in each room. You’ll want to buy some firewood in town for the crazy wood stove. Very clean. Amazing views. Great showers. We would stay here again.

What a horrible experience. There's nothing worse than dealing with people who make excuses and don't own up to their mistakes. Well maybe one of the things that is worse is traveling all day with young kids, nearing your destination, still not having heard anything about the entry process into your rental. Then arriving at your destination and being locked out for over an hour, all the while having hungry kids screaming. Check-in is at 4 PM, I started sending out messages around 3PM, and didn't hear anything until after 5PM. Once I actually spoke to the manager I was told I thought I left the door unlocked. And in my inbox, I got another excuse: I thought you were going to use the app to get in. Both of these EXCUSES are garbage. I'm not a psychic. How would I know how to get in if I didn't get a single message about it?!?! The place was clean and nice, but be prepared to bring all of your own cooking ingredients. There's no cooking oil or salt. Really... you can't provide some cooking oil or salt?!?! Just a horrible experience. Management is extremely poor.

Convenient to Tacoma ferry and not far from town. Beautiful view and mostly rocky beach steps out the door. Spiral staircase to a gorgeous master bedroom upstairs. Downstairs bedroom and large bath is a full size bed. A little tight for two people . Suggest to bring lawn chairs for the front patio. Dogs must be leashed outdoors. Overall a friendly and very nice stay!
