We had a small group of guys together for a bachelor party. We all wanted something simple and the ability to go fishing. This place provides all of that. Local dining and drinking were all in close proximity. 10/10 would book this place again.
We had a great time and everything worked out perfectly. A group of 40 ish year old guys for a bachelor party and couldn’t have been better. The big yard and lake were great. Lots of beds for everyone and plenty of room. Great place.
We enjoyed our stay. The manager was very responsive to our messages, and Mark the owner lived nearby and did everything to fix little things and make our stay enjoyable. The house was large and comfortable enough for our party of 5 adults and 4 boys. The house has no A/C. Luckily, the weather cooperated: top 82 F in the afternoon, and the house cooled down sufficiently by bed time. The 2nd floor rooms were at all times warmer than the 1st floor ones but still OK. Strangely, there were no mosquitoes around and not many other flying nuisances. Rooms: 1st floor: a very tiny and dark master bedroom with full bath (the most private BR in the house), and a huge king-size main BR with 3 windows and a beautiful lake view. The 2nd bathroom/shower is outside the main BR. The 2nd floor has two connecting rooms, one with privacy door and one without privacy. The noise isolation between the floors is practically absent. The kitchen is big and sufficiently equipped. The big dining room doubles as a laundry room - strange but OK. The deck overlooks the lake and is very nice in the morning and around sunset; too hot in the direct sun between 2 and 7 pm. Boys used the blue 2-seater kayak to reach the small kiddie public beach on the opposite side of the lake. The hot water tank in the house is small: enough for 2-3 people to take a shower but not for 4th or 5th. There were some other things in the house that could have been better, but nothing major. I'd come back.
The 1st 3 days we had a contractor on-site building a fence, Master suite had a strong mold smell, water heater was too small to handle 5 guests showering. The #1 issue is no air conditioning. It was not in the listing at the time I reserved it. The house indoor temp was mid 80's the evening we arrived. We had a couple days of upper 80's outdoors, which made the house unbearable. We left a day early due to all these things combined. Disappointed and Frustrated would be the summary. Too expensive for the product received.
Loved the house and lake access. Centrally located for Torch lake, Charlevoix. Only issue no AC?
Our vacation was one to be remembered. The house sits out away from everything which brings on peaceful nights. Although it’s away from everything, it’s a quick commute to most attractions that our family wanted to see. The only downsides in my opinion would be the house seemed to have a hard time staying cool, especially in the upstairs loft area and the neighbor having some dogs that didn’t appreciate us being there. Overall, my family had a wonderful time during our stay!
Very peaceful lake. Great water amenities. 4 person raft with anchor was wonderful for chilling off shore. Kayaks...one with foot pedal fun to explore
Great property with large yard that leads to lake. Plenty of water toys! House is very accommodating, other than the lack of any air conditioning. Overall, awesome place.
