The cabin was just right for a holiday in the mountains! Cute character, perfect size for my Dad and me, clean, just great! We’ve found our new favorite place to stay in Black Mountain.
Overall this was a good stay. However, there are things I wish I’d known before booking my stay. These things may literally not matter to you at all, but they may have influenced my decision to stay here if I’d known them… 1)The queen bed had the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. I couldn’t sleep more than an hour or so at a time before having to completely rearrange myself. It was a rock. The twin beds were slightly better, but not great. You may be fine with a firm mattress, but I wish I’d known how firm this was because not sleeping well but a damper on my trip. 2)The kitchen was hit or miss. The turn table in the microwave didn’t work, a few dishes were put away dirty, some cooking essentials were absent (no measuring cups/spoons) but most alarming was that the dishwasher was not secured into the counter, so when you pulled out the dish drawers to empty the washer, the whole dishwasher tipped forward! 3) The sitting area is tiny, which was perfectly fine for 2 people, but it only seated 3 (love seat and chair) Would have been tricky if there were actually 4 people in the house. Also the TV was maybe 12 inches if that? 4)The cottage is VERY close to the main house. Nobody was in the main house so it was fine, but if someone had been there, we would have felt a major lack of privacy (the screen porch faces the main house) and the properties also share a driveway. For the price I ended up paying, just wish I’d known these things in advance!
We will be back! stayed with my little family of 4 and it was perfect! Parents of little ones- there is no tub. But our 2 year old managed with the shower just fine :)
The house is set in the woods, but very easy to get to. Only a short drive into Black Mtn. Having the screened in porch was really nice.
Great little cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. No one was renting the main house while we were there which made for a very private getaway. We really enjoyed the town of Black Mountain and access from the cottage was quick and easy.
It was clean, quiet, had all the amenities needed and in a good location. However the heat thermostat was annoying. It did not work properly.
Cozy cabin situated very close to downtown Black Mountain and easy access to Asheville and other areas. Perfect spot
Perfectly decorated with vintage country style. Very comfortable and clean! Location was wonderful, very quiet and private. Loved the screened in porch. Saw beautiful doe and fawn and momma bear and two cubs. All quietly passing by. Peaceful area to sit and enjoy the gently flowing creek. Loved everything about it!
Nice cabin, quiet road, well supplied.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful black mountain cottage. Situated by a lovely mountain creek, you can hear the water from the front porch. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked and provided everything we needed to cook wonderful meals. We enjoyed our stay!
