Perched on a bluff near Alsea Bay, Whale’s Cove is an adorable, classic sea cottage in a quiet neighborhood that looks out over the estuary and the water. With ocean views from many rooms, a rustic river-rock fireplace, and a sweet wood-lined interior, this vintage cottage also sports some wonderful updates, including a new kitchen and remodeled bathrooms. Two red sofas invite conversation in the living room, where large windows bring in lotsof ocean light. Another sofa faces the electric fireplace for fire-gazing on chilly nights. A trestle dining table in the kitchen and an extendable Gateleg table in the living room make eating in a pleasure. A queen bedroom on the main level has its own TV. Upstairs is a small bonus room with a futon sofa, recliner and TV, plus a second bedroom tucked up under the eaves with a queen and twin bed, making this a great home to share with extra friends or family.

You’ll find a wealth of activities in this corner of the coast. Six stunning miles of flat, sandy beach stretch south from Alsea Bay to the outskirts of Yachats—perfect for playing fetch with your dog or enjoying peaceful walks along the Pacific. Head down the hill to Waldport for essentials and a bite to eat, or take a short drive north to enjoy Newport’s bustling bayfront, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and a plethora of other tourist attractions. There’s more to explore to the south, including charming Yachats, Cape Perpetua, Heceta Head Lighthouse, and the sand dunes of Florence. You’ll love returning in the evening to your sweet sea cottage to watch the sun set over the ocean from your new vantage on the coast!
