Step on in to the vast living room with beamed cathedral ceiling cozy fireplace. Surrounded by lake views, to the right you’ll find the spacious kitchen which often serves as the home’s main gathering space.
To the left and down the hallway, is the first bedroom with a king bed and en suite bath featuring a tub, shower and convenient laundry chute. Further down the hall, you’ll find a second bedroom also with a king bed and bathroom overlooking the lake and side garden.
To the right and down the hallway is the master bedroom complete with an antique double bed and spacious bathroom with a soaking tub along with a private entrance onto the screen porch.
Down the steps, is the fourth bedroom with Italian tile floors and a king bed. You’ll also find a day bed in this room with a full twin trundle bed. On this floor, you’ll also have two bathrooms - one with a claw-foot soaking tub and the other with a tub and shower.
For our family visitors with little ones in tow, we converted the two closets into small nooks for child-size bunk beds.
Step outside the main house onto the charing stone pathway down to South Lake Summit Road and across to the waterfront. Here you will find the large double boat house featuring a great room and kitchenette with all the essentials for outdoor entertaining. On its porch, enjoy large tables for dining and rocking chairs for taking it all in with loved ones.
Lake life is all about swimming, sunning, skiing, playing and eating popsicles. Our home is tucked away on a cove for extra privacy and safety.
Looking for a little extra fun on the water Ask us about a Pontoon boat that can be rented with space in boathouse. You may also bring your own ski boat or pontoon boat with boat permits available through the Lake Summit HOA.

Fun week, great swimming, nice boat house and a magical Hobbit house in the woods
We had a fabulous time at your home on Lake Summit!! We enjoyed our time with family and friends swimming and boating all week! It was the perfect house with a fantastic boat house just steps away! We hope to be back soon!
My year-long planned vaca week at Edisto was cut short two hours after arriving due to mandatory evacuation for Dorian. We found this VRBO and knew this needed to be our plan B. Both Jacquelin and Jamie made this everything we could hope for! The house, surroundings, lake and the boat house were like a dream come true! Now that I’ve discovered this gem, I will be back as our plan A.
Great spot for a family weekend!
We absolutely love and adore Lake Summit and this is a great lake house !!! What a perfect week in a perfect home !! Thanks for this marvelous week!
We loved this original spot on beautiful Lake Summit! The views of the lake were open and gorgeous. Running and walking in the morning cool was delightful and going right or left kept you off the paved road where drivers commuting to work go too fast. The house itself was fun and had numerous spots for sitting and reading or hanging out with siblings and cousins. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. The kitchen was big enough for us all to cook and clean together. There could be brighter lighting-or maybe I need to get my eyes checked! The boathouse/dock area was very nice. We had the choice of sun or shade, which was good for us all. There is plenty of space to spread out. There are fun waterways, and there was room for our own boat! We did have to call about an issue with the stove, but they were very responsive and nice. All in all, it was a great and fun week!
Out group loved the dock house on the lake.it was very relaxing and did not disappoint. But since it was fall, we stayed at the dock area until it became too chilly. The walkway to get to the dock was a bit deceiving from photos. The. steps from house to dock are very steep and not user friendly. We had a family member who could not go up them once he got down. We had to drive down to pick him up. The house and dock are separated by a small road that you have to cross. There was a lot of character about the house but it is in need of updating especially in the kitchen. Cabinets are old and hard to close. There is NO PREP room which was our biggest complaint. Not easy for families of any size. No pantry to put your food that didn’t need to be refrigerated., except a couple narrow shelves. The one bedroom with its own bathroom had a VERY SMALL full size mattress that we had to use stepsrools to get into. This was very annoying. Not sure why the bed was so high off of the ground. I feel better directions should have been given. We received two addresses. One of them had NO MARKING whatsoever on anything to identify the property. This was very Annoying after driving 4hours, got there after dark and the keys were not where we were told they would be! Prompted a call to manager who had me check other possible locations. Finally found them, they were not where we were told they would be. Annoying. Quaint, but dated , overpriced in my opinion until kitchen has a makeover . Be aware if you have young ones or elderly as the steps are steep and not user friendly. I’m very annoyed that VRBO holds my deposit for 4 weeks before I get it back. This should have been disclosed to me.
Thank you for sharing your lovely home and Lake Summit with us. Lake Summit is a spot we cherish- your home was the perfect place to visit. Thank you again!
I rode on Sandy Vermont's shoulders on water skis in 1960 when I was 5 and learned to ski on Lake Summit when I was 6. I spent my first nights in the Stevenson House at Lake Summit when I was about 12 years old. In 1994, my parents, three sisters, their families, my wife and three children rented a house at Lake Summit. My youngest son was 3 months old. We have spend two weeks at Lake Summit every summer for 25 years - the last 9 years in the Stevenson's house. Great house. We trailer our 1993 19' Grady White to the Lake and keep it in the boathouse. The boat is wide and has no trouble fitting. Skis are kept in the storage room. The Boathouse is roomy and just plain fun. I am looking at a screen saver on my computer at a view to the end of the lake. The water is calm as glass. We have our children (24, 26 and 28) and as many as 15 of their friends stay with us. On the middle Saturday we have the annual Lake Summit Beer Olympics. We live in the Boat House during the day. We usually have an evening cocktail cruise. We fire up the grill most knights. If you do not have a fantastic time in this house, look in the mirror and tell the person you see. It is heaven. P.S. don't take our weeks!!
This is a wonderful, comfortable home. We had 3 families with 6 adult and 6 kids. The shared spaces are great and a everyone also had privacy when they wanted it. The boathouse is absolutely amazing on a perfect cove for swimming. We hope to return soon.
