Great place The one and only negative was the smell of POT when you opened door to unit. Otherwise, what a great place, beautiful, clean, close to everything. Would definitely stay again

Perfect place for our 6 person family to stay! Immediately beside the wharfs and close to everything! Bed was comfortable, kitchen had a Keurig, and it was exactly as advertised. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect house for our needs. 6 adults and we enjoyed the roominess of the house. The great location close to our venue and Derby Street is the perfect location to tour the town on foot yet be away from the heavy tourist traffic of the core witch areas. Coffee, restaurants, wine and ice cream within a block! Thank you for providing this home away experience!

Loved every thing tbe property was perfect for me and my family and plety of room to cook Thanksgiving dinner and extremely close to everything.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful rental. The only thing was the folks upstairs walking around a lot in the middle of the night waking us up around 2-3 am. The space was fabulous and we look forward to coming back.

Such a beautiful location. We enjoyed being so close to Derby Warf and downtown Salem. The property was clean, and our host was wonderful. Communication was easy and prompt, and we plan to go back. I highly recommend this property.

This was our first time to Salem and this place made the trip even more spectacular. The house was in walking distance to everything Salem had to offer. It was roomy enough for 5 grown women to enjoy. I had a question about check in because for some reason I couldn't access my messages through the VRBO app(not an issue on the host's end)and when I contacted the host she was so helpful and was able to help me with the check in. It was stocked with enough tableware, towels, wash cloths, and extra shampoos, lotions, and soaps. The only thing i would say is to bring and extra small blanket cause there was only one extra and 2 of our group didn't want to sleep in the same bed so they stayed on the couches. But that is more of a personal preference than anything to do with the place. This is definitely a place. It's also only about a 15 minute walk to the train station to take you into Boston. This is definitely a great place to stay if you want to be close to everything.

The location was fantastic -- we were able to easily walk everywhere. The townhome was lovely, spacious and well equipped. We didn't have a car but assigned parking was located right next to the home. The owner was a pleasure to work with and made our trip a wonderful experience.

The location was perfect. My son got married in Danvers and they were staying at the Salem Waterfront which is a 5 minute walk from the townhome. My brother stayed in the second floor unit so it was nice to all be in the same building. The huge walk in closet in the basement was perfect for all our wedding clothes and items. It was a full basement with a big bedroom, bathroom and living room with TV. Nice to have a separate space from the rest of the house.Lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance. The listing was accurate to what the unit offered.The only downside is our contact, Jennifer didn't have any idea about the orange bags for excess trash. We had to take a picture of the page in the handbook to show her that the unit didn't have these bags so we had to jam our trash in the bins. After we sent her the message, she never responded.Other than that she was responsive and addressed our questions.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was immaculate clean, beds and bedding were comfortable. Check in was easy. We had one small issue during our stay and the host was quick to remedy it. The location was perfect for us. We were able to walk around Salem from here. Lots of cute restaurants and attractions. It’s right across from waterfront so nice to walk to lighthouse at night and sunrise in morning. One of the best places I have stayed at.

Keurig water reservoir moldy. Couldn’t clean it out. Bath towels as thin as paper towels. Outdoor space needs cleaning and buggy. Need cement pad. WHY am I stripping beds when I pay a substantial cleaning fee?

Great place to stay. Walking distance to several historical sites of Salem, restaurants and shops. Take the time to take in a Sail on the Fame of Salem (daytime and sunset sails of Salem Sound) Location allows short drive trips to other locations to explore. House was clean and quiet. Would stay there again.

The accommodations were immaculate, the beds and bedding soft and perfect, and everything was a close walk. We had one small issue during the stay and the host was quick to remedy it. Salem is a walkable city, and the location for this place is perfect to walk. The maritime historical locations are all right there to tour, anf we were right across from lighthouse. We enjoyed walking out to see the sunrise and walking around at night exploring.

We only had the chance to come down to Salem for one night on this trip but this unit was so conveniently located and everything we could ask for. We are already talking about planning another trip to the area and hope to get this same place again next time.

We were so excited to stay here. The house is cute. The location is great. However… the air conditioning was not working which made for a miserable sleeping experience. The host suggested we open windows, but we did not feel comfortable with this as it is on the 1st floor. I wish there had been some other compromise or solution available to us (or at least some oscillating fans!). Thank goodness we only stayed one night.

The house was in a good location to everything. Cleanliness was excellent. We had an issue with the basement toilet not flushing properly but can be understandable since the house was historically built in the 1800’s. Plus we had another bathroom that was easily accessible. I wasn’t impressed with the communication of the host. In weeks ahead of our stay I asked how we entered the house (key/keycode). It was several days before the host responded with “we would receive a code 24 hours prior to our stay”. Upon 6 hours before our stay, we still had not received a code. I tried to reach out to the host a few times within 24 hours of our check in time with no response. I ended up contacting VRBO and they also had a hard time contacting the host. I finally received a text from the host about 5 hours before check in time with a response that she didn’t work 24 hours a day. I have never had any issues in the multiple times in the past with other hosts getting check in information as I did this time. I just wish that process went smoother. When you’re 15 hours away from home and you’re told you’ll get a code 24 hours prior to stay and we’re down to 5-6 hours and still no code, it makes me nervous if we were even going to have a place to stay. Again, the house very inviting and a good place to stay.

The property was perfectly located for our daughter’s wedding. The accommodations were perfect for our family to stay comfortably and be within walking distance of the guest hotels and restaurants. All was as advertised!

Convenient to walk everywhere. We loved the location and the space that it gave us. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a wonderful property in a great location.

Great location. Great property for our family of five including two toddlers. Most of the best sights in Salem were easily walkable from this location. A lot of food options around too.

It was a great time and the beds were all comfortable. Only downside was the limited amount of lamps in the bedrooms and living rooms.

It was perfect for us and so convenient to a delightful coffee shop and restaurants. Rarely used the car since so much was withing walking distance, especially the old section of Salem. Great vacation.

Our third stay at 14 Hodges. We were so pleased with the upgrades. The new beds/bedding were amazing and the new thermostat was user friendly. We managed to cook quite a bit while also eating out at our favorite vegan spots in Salem and Beverly. We headed to Boston via train for the Titanic exhibit and headed to Portland Maine and the lit up for the Holidays Nubble Light House. It was great to visit the PEM once again for some great exhibits and all the local stores. It was great to be home.

It was the best location, just a VERY short walk to all that Salem has to offer! It is right across the street from Jaho, which is an amazing coffee place and access to the lighthouse is directly across the street. The layout of the unit is awesome - the primary is in the basement with its own living area, HUGE walk-in closet, and bathroom, while the two other bedrooms are on the main floor. It felt very private having the whole basement to ourselves. The only downside (and it's a personal preference) to the unit was that in the living areas, there were no lamps, only harsh ceiling lights. I can't say enough good things about where this unit is located in Salem and how clean it was. We will definitely rent from Jenn!

The property is comfortable and clean. The location is perfect, right at the harbor with an excellent cafe right across the street. I have stayed at a few VRBO properties and never had plenty of toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, trash bags, etc provided. That was a fantastic surprise. If a may make one tiny suggestion, a row of coat hooks next to the front door would be a cheap, but much appreciated addition. Again, this property is wonderful and if I make my way back to Salem I will rent this place again.

What an amazing weekend! Salem is an incredible place to visit. The unit was beautifully done and very clean and Jennifer the host very responsive. There was 3 of us and we each had our own room and enough space for 3 more!! Great location everything literally in walking distance!! Would definitely stay here again!!

The location could not be more perfect. You are across the street from a lovely coffee shop that serves a great small breakfast. You are minutes away from the central happenings of Salem. You do not need a car. We took a Lyft to Salem and we walked everywhere. We are not a walking family. Everything is just so close. The house was nice. The king sized bed is downstairs. This wasnt a problem for us, but I could see it being an issue if we had little kids. It worked out perfecr for our family. I highly recommend staying here.

Such a great girls trip house! Walking distance to almost all the local attractions. Also short walk to the ferry back to Boston. Two of the beds were great, one in the front bedroom was a little old and dips but not terrible. House qas very clean, two living rooms, super close to a coffe shop and great sunrise spot. Would likely stay here again if we ever come back!!

This is my third stay here- you can’t beat the location! The apartment is nice, but the first bedroom off the living room had a bad mattress that sagged, and we saw a mouse! Eek!
