The Hen House Cottage is a tiny house located on an historic farm in central Maryland. It is surrounded by six acres of beautiful pasture. The Cottage has great light throughout the day, a well-equipped kitchen (microwave, oven, coffee grinder, coffee maker, large fridge, etc.), a full bathroom (with shower), a sleeping area with a comfortable full-sized bed, dedicated (free) wi-fi, a smart TV, blue tooth sound system, and an eclectic library. Linens and towels are provided.

This tinyhouse is a conversion of an antique hen house on an historic farm. The interior is constructed mostly of reclaimed materials--like yellow pine flooring, corrugated tin ceiling, rough-cut oak book shelves, etc. The walls are decorated with an eclectic collection of art (everything from Japanese woodcut to abstract oils). The cottage features an impressive small library. It's warm and cozy, a superbly relaxing place to clear your head and get some much deserved rest.

PLEASE NOTE: The Cottage is for single occupancy only. We cannot accommodate couples in this space. No exceptions. Please don't ask. Also the tiny house shower provides the user with 7 minutes of hot water--which is the average time most Americans spend in the shower. In other words, this place is not for you if you want, say, 20-minute showers. :-)

The guest house is excellent -- very cozy and inviting inside. It is on a farm with the requisite farm look. Do not expect manicured landscaping, but rather enjoy a stroll around the grounds and take in the sights on a working farm.

Found this gem while in town for a family event. It was a quiet escape and it’s solitude was refreshing. Thank you for allowing me to stay!

I stayed in the Hen House Cottage for a weekend, and it was absolutely perfect for my needs. This property truly lives up to its name—it is a unique, cozy, and peaceful getaway on a gorgeous historic farm in Reisterstown, MD.The cottage itself is miraculous. This tiny house conversion is thoughtfully designed and appointed, providing everything I needed: a comfortable full-sized bed, a well-equipped kitchen, and a great full bathroom. The space was perfect for my solo trip while attending a two-day class nearby.I particularly appreciated the quiet seclusion and the thoughtful touches like the dedicated desk area, impressive library, and swiveling TV, which made the evenings feel exceptionally cozy. I woke up refreshed each morning in the farm's peaceful quiet. The host, Ron, was engaging, extremely nice, and highly responsive. His dedication to historic preservation shines through in the restored farm.A special shout-out goes to the friendly farm cat who greeted me each time with meows—a lovely, authentic touch to the farm experience. No the cat never came to me but always seemed to be around watching me :)The area gets very dark at night, so be sure to follow Ron's excellent directions. The cottage is a super alternative to a hotel room, offering quiet seclusion while still being just a five-to-ten-minute drive from all suburban conveniences. I will absolutely stay here again the next time I am in the area.

If you want to be inspired, and are solo, experience the refurbished hen house. The cottage and grounds are so charming peaceful. On the other hand, the hen house has so many stimulating and interesting things to experience, a full library, stimulating photos, and paintings. The kitchen is more than adequate. This place is a super alternative to a hotel room. Ron and his cat are the best.

Second time I've stayed here. It's the most peaceful and cozy cottage I have ever stayed at. Missed the pups but got to meet the barn cat, what a cuddler. Will definitely go back next time I'm in town

Quiet seclusion not far from the hustle and bustle. Looks like it is supposed to be a writers retreat, which I'm sure it is. Because of traffic I was running late getting there. The lights were on when I arrived so I didn't have to fumble in the darkness. A very warm and inviting place, with the reddish hues of the reclaimed floor, shelves of books, and some antiques. I only wish my stay were longer. I would rent again, and if I do stay a couple more days to relax while there, With my jam packed weekend I didn't get to enjoy as much as I wanted to.

The Hen House renovation is nothing short of miraculous! This space and the surrounding farm are a welcome respite from the traditional. This coop will see me again when I next come to Baltimore/Carroll County. Highly recommended!

Its a peaceful quiet cottage in a small farm. It is listed as a tiny home but is a bit bigger. You have access to a pleasant farm with benches and patios around. There are a lot of rules to read but nothing is onerous. Everything in the cottage was very nice with the right mix of modern (TV) and old fashioned (furniture).
