Base of location for MLK ski trip to Sugarbush. This is a great spot for a ski base, but you should know going in that you need to be prepared for some quirks. 4x4 all wheel drive required in the winter. The house relies on well water. Bring bottled water for drinking/coffee/tea. This is relatively common in VT ski homes. The heating is locked on the thermostat at 68 in the winter, but there is a separate gas stove to heat the main living and a fire place with plenty of firewood. Bathrooms are older, and there is limited hot water. We were recommended no more than two hot showers in an hour, else risk being without hot water for awhile while the tank recharged. Did not have an issue when advice was followed. Check with the owner if sheets/towels will be provided. The rest speaks for itself, the beds were comfy, the place has amazing views, it is generally well appointed, there are is only one neighbor, and the location is 5 minutes from the base of Lincoln, and 10 minutes to Mt. Ellen.
Had a great week in Vermont staying at this mountain cabin. 5 min to hit the slopes on Sugarbush! The views from the cabin were incredible and a great fireplace made it super cozy. You do need a 4 WD vehice to get up the dirt road leading to the cabin!! Would recommend!
We had a great stay at Claireview. Harly was quick to communicate and provided us with lots of ideas for the area. Clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, screened porch, and the magnificent view made for a memorable stay. It was a pleasure to be his guest and we would stay again for sure.
We took our honeymoon here! Harley was wonderful and gave us all the information we needed for a great stay! We enjoyed the view, had fires, and cozied up inside when it rained! The area was wonderful- lots of hiking and swimming- and lots of cool spots to eat and hang out- like the Big Picture Theatre (do dinner and a movie) and the Max Taco. Great towns to visit nearby with bakeries and shops. We loved it!
NIce mountain home. Beautiful winter wonderland with wonderful sunrises. We found everything we needed to prepare meals. 4 minute drive to Sugarbush ski resort. Great place to come back to after a day of skiing . We relaxed and played games by the fire. Harley was very helpful about the directions and the check in process. Would be nice to stay other seasons also.
My family had a great time. We spent the week after Christmas and we were lucky to experience snow fall. The cabin has all the essentials and we were able to enjoy the fireplace. Harley was fantastic. He asked about our interests and guided us about the area. He even checked in to make sure we were ok. The cabin is about a mile from the ski lodge Sugar Bush and Mad River is super close as well. We enjoyed the are and would recommend the location. I didn’t find the mountain scary to drive, but would recommend a 4 wheel drive for the last drive up to the home. It was a wonderful family get away
This property was perfect for a weekend enjoying the Mad River Valley. The house is very comfortable, the view is incredible, and the location is hard to beat. Harley was a great host - helpful, communicative, and thoughtful. We're looking forward to returning!
This property is on the side of a mountain overlooking a valley, covered in trees in full color change. It is isolated, with a neighbor, not present. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun. The beds were comfortable and this was needed as we were exhausted at the end of every day, with all the places walk/hike, shop, and visit. The living room was a comfortable place to relax and visit. We didn't do much cooking, with all the places to eat in the area. But the kitchen had everything we needed...to include a coffee grinder and toaster oven. They had a grill which we did use. Lovely deck area with lots of seating and a three season porch. We would love to stay here again sometime.
This property was great! Centrally located, gorgeous view and adorable house.
We met another couple to stay at this house. We hiked locally, hiked the long trail, visited Warren Falls and Lake Pleiad, stopped off at Breadloaf, the Chipman Inn and the Ripton General Store on our way to Middlebury. Walked the Stowe Recreation Path. Had creemees at Morse Farm, the Waitsfield Canteen, and Lulus in Vergennes. Rented Ebikes in Burlington and rode the bike path to South Hero where we enjoyed a local winery. Ate dinner at Hen of the Woods Waterbury. Great pizza at American Flatbread at beautiful LaReau Farm. And SO MUCH MORE! We loved returning every evening to Harley’s beautiful home and sipping adult beverages around the fire pit. Every morning we watched the sunrise and were greeted by hummingbirds and baby deer. Couldn’t have had a more lovely time!
My adult children and I had a thoroughly relaxing week here enjoying the area attractions and chillin on the porch taking in the amazing views and natural landscape. The house had everywhere we needed.
Great host and accommodations. The view from the deck is amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We especially loved sitting on the deck while enjoying the amazing view. Harley was very informative.
