Wonderful historic property and the gardens at the front made it look like a story book entrance. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Laurie was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed the eclectic mix of antiques, original artwork, and MCM furnishings. Would definitely stay here again. Laurie went above and beyond in making this a wonderful stay.

Fresh breakfast and Laurie was very accommodating to my somewhat strict diet. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The place was clean, and Laurie’s decorating style of this beautiful 1700’s historic home was quaint, stylish, and very interesting. The art is eclectic and not period pieces, but there is a book in the bedroom that lists each piece and provides history of the artist. The property is quiet, and I thoroughly enjoyed the peace of sitting on the back deck surrounded by the quiet charm of the woods, listening to the old country church bells ringing the hour each morning. My husband and I will be staying here again. Thank you so much, Laurie. You were an exceptional host. Dee and Mike.

Beautiful property! Delicious breakfast brought by each morning. Enjoyed the colorful gardens and watching the birds feasting from the deck. Conveniently close to so many attractions and restaurant recommendations were a perfect match.

Lovely stay! So many special things about this place - the gardens, the art, the great mirror in the bathroom that I am having my husband track down because I want one, the back deck for watching the many birds. And of course, the magically appearing breakfast was SUCH A TREAT!!!We visited Newport, did the cliff walk and toured a couple mansions. Had lobster rolls at Anthony's Seafood in Middletown and our fill of fresh oysters, clams, and tuna a couple nights at fabulous restaurants in New Bedford. Love New England - thank you!

I was looking for a weekend rental close to Fall River (for a concert at the Narrows), but also close to the beach for a wedding anniversary trip. Laurie’s place fit the bill perfectly. I was blown away by the high quality art and furniture in the house, and Laurie and her husband were attentive hosts. The back porch was the perfect spot to relax and watch the birds that are constantly flying around the bird feeders. We had a great time and will likely return. The place has a couple quirks of note: although it is very spacious, there’s only a small kitchenette and downstairs bathroom. It’s also right on a road where people drive pretty fast. Definitely a unique spot for two people looking for something off the beaten path.

My husband and I recently spent our anniversary at this extraordinary historic home at the head of Westport, furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furniture and a sensational collection of artwork that is generously shared with guests by the hosts Laurie and Steve. The accommodations were very clean, spacious and equipped with all the essentials including a modern bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. The location is quite beautiful, situated in a historic center with the Westport River nearby and convenient amenities within easy walking distance including the town square, a kayak rental shop, and a deli/market selling delicious baked goods, coffee and basic food items. As noted by other guests, another exceptional aspect of our stay was the daily home cooked breakfast, prepared and delivered by the host (an amenity that is available to those fortunate enough to rent when the hosts are home as we were). Overall, this was a fantastic, and very memorable experience and we would gladly return to this lovely home for another stay. Thank you Laurie and Steve

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wishing to explore the Westport area. The bed is very comfortable and Laurie provided us with a delicious breakfast every morning. We were also grateful for the A/C. Communication with our hosts was prompt and we appreciated that they were quick to respond to our questions/requests. The home is located on a road that has regular traffic, so a light sleeper may want to bring ear plugs to help block out extra sounds. This didn’t disturb us though and we would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area another time.

My stay had the best of both worlds. It was very quiet for a much needed restful long weekend and close to many activities. I loved the artwork in the home and the beautiful flower gardens. Laurie is a great host and she has thought of everything you will need for a perfect getaway, including a delicious breakfast. I can’t wait to come back again.

Laurie has a wonderful property filled with interesting art and thoughtful touches. There’s a great deck outside the living room with an umbrella and two comfy chairs that looks out over a beautiful yard with bird feeders and occasional bunnies. The bedroom is extremely comfortable, and both upstairs and downstairs are cooled by mini split A/C’s. We were there in record heat and were quite comfortable. Laurie went above and beyond with delicious home cooked breakfasts each morning. We felt very coddled! Thank you Laurie for sharing your special property with us.

The 1740 Captain Charles Cornell whaling master house was a very unique place to stay with a lot of personality and style. Interesting art work with descriptions and period furniture to complement the decor. On the second floor is a very comfortable king bed with a small TV in the bedroom. The modern bathroom is located downstairs on the first floor. We loved the delicious, full breakfasts that magically appeared each morning on the dining room table that made a bright start to our day. The location is conveniently located for exploring the areas of Newport, Providence and the entire Cape Cod region.

So many great aspects about our stay, hard to put it all into words. Simultaneously stimulating and relaxing. Fabulously detailed & unrelentingly comfortable. A terrific setting to start and finish your days, and to recharge in the middle, while visiting Westport. Convenient to just about everything. Anywhere we wanted to go always seemed just 15 minutes away. Outstanding hosts. Would definitely return.
