The view is amazing, whether you’re preparing a meal or eating in the dining room or sitting on the balcony, the ocean is ever present. If you enjoy watching skilled surfers, it’s especially nice. The entire house was quite clean and inviting and full of light, the bedrooms were perfect for 4 adults and a 5 year old with two large beds in one and a California king in the other. The garage housed many amenities for the beach and for the most part everything was exactly as advertised. We ended up having parking for both of our cars, but there is parking on adjacent streets as well if you have a little patience.Megan, but especially Tammie, the hosts, were very responsive both prior to our stay and during it, as well. They were quick to respond to any issues that we had.Everyone enjoyed themselves so much, that we’re planning to make it an annual event and to return to this exact spot! Also, the location is incredibly central to everything that you could want: the aquarium, the zoo, other nearby beaches and plenty of interesting places to eat, everything within a 15 minute drive.

Okay, so the unit itself isn’t winning any beauty contests, but the location cannot be beat. The beach is literally across the street and it’s a popular surfing spot, which was fun to watch from the balcony. The unit is well stocked, nice bathrooms, good size bedrooms. The only reasons this is a 4 star and not a 5 comes down to the living area. This unit doesn’t have AC (which I missed on the listing, my fault) but they do have fans available in the bedrooms. Could definitely use something in the living area, as well as more comfortable seating. It was not ideal for our family of 4 to try and relax and watch a movie. Also, much of the furniture—the dining table in particular, had a tacky surface and everything would stick to it. Also don’t miss that there is another unit above you. We unfortunately had some inconsiderate renters for a few of the nights and were awoken from 3-5am. Again, luck of the draw I guess, but just a note. All that said, we really did love the location—felt much less crowded that La Jolla proper but was very close to everything. We’d still consider staying here again.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location is perfect with gorgeous views out the window and porch. You can walk to downtown La Jolla in about 20 minutes and see the seals and sea lions. The bedrooms are spacious and the two bathrooms are great, too. The kitchen was fully equipped. The perks of the bicycles and the laundry in the basement were exceptional. We rode all the way down to Mission Beach in about 30-45 minutes- so fun! Good communication from hosts. Highly recommend.

Very nice, comfortable property with a fantastic view to watch surfers ride the waves! Right next to beautiful oceanside walkway. Beds very comfortable and kitchen well appointed. Host was pleasant and communicative. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you for an awesome visit!

There is a lot here that needs attention. Rusted furniture, broken lamps, stairs not lit at night up to front door, broken chair , rusty railing, dirty sofa. Sheets and towels were fine, good, newer beds and bath remodeled and clean. Photos in listing too idealistic except for the view.

The location and views of this property couldn’t be better. We ended up needing to add on an extra day last minute and they were super accommodating and responsive, even at odd hours, which I was not expecting at all. The wind and Sea hut is directly in front of this property and you can see the ocean from the living room, dining room and kitchen.. The master bedroom was bigger than I expected, and the bathrooms were nicely redone. I highly recommend this property. The only thing that would make me recommend it less highly is selfishness because I want it to be available for future rental!

We loved the sound of the ocean waves and spectacular sunset view. We enjoyed walking around town and to dinner.

Th beach view is fantastic and exactly what we wanted for our vacation. The property is in a prime location across from Windansea Beach and perfect spot to watch surfers. They even had binoculars on site for our daily watch of the surfers. This is truly a beach place. While it was a surprise to have humid and warm temps for our mid-September stay, the fans they provided allowed for comfortable sleeping. As one other reviewer mentioned, they could really make this place great with some upgrades but then, of course, the rental would be higher. One thing that was a little disappointing was how dirty the floors were everywhere. They were swept clean but haven’t been washed in awhile. Be patient with the door locks. They can be a little touchy at times but through practice we were able to get them to work. A couple of times we needed to contact the property manager and she replied immediately. Overall, a great place to stay for a few nights.

We had a wonderful time. The Condo made it great to walk everywhere. La Jolla we will be back!

Communication with the property managment was great. Bedrooms and bathrooms were nice and updated, living room and kitchen needed attention and updating, but were clean. Location can not be beat, the sunsets off the balcony were amazing. If guests are staying in the condo above, you can hear every footstep in the living room area, bedrooms were not loud from above.

Great location had a great time!!!But the property had a very thin wall heard everything upstairs. My grandmother and my wife couldn’t sleep the whole time we heard everything from upstairs… they were not partying but walking talking TV heard everything… disappointed

Absolutely beautiful, amazing view! The place is as described. There are restaurants and stores within walking distance. We loved it and would stay there again.

Location is perfect directly in front of main surf point so can appreciate the views and sunset and also take advantage of the beach. The inside is dated except the bathrooms. But tidy and everything worked.

The views and location of this place are unbeatable! The hosts were so helpful when we voiced concerns about the property and handled it like pros. The space was cleaned as well as it could be but, other than the bathrooms and flooring, not much has been updated for decades so things appear quite rundown. It was our first time to the area so maybe that’s the standard. If the property was updated this place would be next level!

You can’t beat this location—right across a residential coastal street from Windansea beach. We spent a fair amount of time just watching the surf out the living room window when it was raining. When it wasn’t, we walked up and down the rocky coastline and investigated tidepools.There are several restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.The place was very clean upon check-in. The property manager was quick to respond to our texts. This place isn’t exactly updated, which probably explains the relatively reasonable rental cost. The kitchen is dated, and the furniture includes uncomfortable metal dining chairs. One of the two lounging chairs was completely broken. The property manager offered to try to repair the chair, which didn’t seem worth it given the extent of the damage. And, there is no central heating, so on cold winter days, renters will need to rely on the provided space heaters.But, given the unbeatable location and how clean the unit was, we were pretty happy with this rental. We may stay here again.

The location and hospitality were top-notch and the rooms were very clean. We only have a couple of small quibbles. The refrigerator buzzed all the time despite our efforts to quiet it down and the guest beds were fairly well 'broken in.' We very much appreciate the hospitality and will likely revisit in the future.

For the second leg of our So Cal vacation we chose to stay in La Jola and the property did not disappoint. Loved the view of the ocean and ability to walk to the water. Watching the surfers was really enjoyable along with the over all vibe. Easy drive to pick up odds and ends and the parking proved to be a huge advantage. Would recommend the Taco Stand, we chose to walk but there is street parking around the corner.

This place was great! The pictures very accurately describe the place. The location is what we were looking for and it hit the spot. Super nice that the garage had all kinds of beach supplies for us to use. We didn’t use the bikes but they were available if we wanted to. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms nice. Did I say the view was great?! The outside of the refrigerator was a little rusty, I’m sure the salt air is hard on those kinds of things. Didn’t take anything away from our enjoyment of the kitchen. There was also a backyard space that was shared with the upstairs guests but none of us used it. The only thing I would change is to add glass railing on the deck instead of slats because when you are sitting outside on deck you have to look through the slats to see the ocean. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family!!
