Just a few steps from the walls, the holiday home The Torsello is the perfect place to discover the city and feel at ease in a typical house in Lucca. The house is independent, on two floors, with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room with sofa bed, 1 bathroom small but functional and cozy, courtyard, sleeps 5. It is overlooking Via del Fosso, one of the most emblematic streets of the city inside the city wall. Expertly renovated maintaining the original finishes: the stained concrete floors, ceilings and walls with beautiful nineteenth century paintings and Art Nouveau. It breathes a unique atmosphere that takes the visitor to the ancient charm of the quaint cottage in Lucca, without neglecting the comforts of modern life. Furnished with typical Tuscan furniture that give authenticity and charm of the house.
Ground floor: entrance hall, kitchen with appliances and utensils, sitting area with TV.
Mezzanine: small bathroom with shower (functional and welcoming)
First floor: two double bedrooms: one overlooking Via del Fosso, the other with a small terrace overlooking the courtyard. Living room with sofa bed for any additional bed that opens onto a large terrace on the Via del Fosso, a characteristic street which derives its name from the ditch (Ditch fact) that runs adjacent to the current road and that once served as protection walls that surrounded the city.
The water of the ditch also served laboratories silk along the way. The house is named after the lot where was placed the raw silk.
Stroll along Via del Fosso can breathe the true spirit of the city, but also to visit the many places of great interest. A few meters away stands the port of SS. Gervasio and Protasio, one of the many doors that allowed the thirteenth century, and permitting, access to the core and the oldest of Lucca.

Unique with original stone stairs, painted ceilings, feel of Old Italy but modern a/c, wi-fi. Little balcony overlooking the “Ditch” could enjoy the sights and sounds. Easy walk to anywhere in the walled town. Great location. Enjoyed our stay in Lucca

The apartment in Lucca is so utterly unique that it's hard to compare it to any other we've stayed in. Situated near the edge of the historic part of Lucca right on the canal, its location couldn't be better. The building itself is old but has been lovingly restored and looked after by its owners. The artwork, done by the owner, is utterly stunning and the decor in the whole apartment is just as interesting to look at as the city of Lucca itself! Because it is a character apartment, it lacks some of the conveniences of a newer building (such as a large updated bathroom or kitchen) but in this case, it's worth the sacrifice! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
