Fantastic 2 week stay. The property is lovely with stunning views and an incredible swimming pool. The owners were extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay and made us feel very at home. The property and pool are immaculately clean and every need has been carefully thought about by the owners. We will definitely go back!
We (my wife and I and our 3 children) have just returned from Paciano, where we stayed two weeks in the company of Geoffrey and Judith. We only have good things to say about our stay...incredible location of property, near the top of an unspoiled hill in Umbria with fantastic views across a valley; lovely accommodation - comfy beds, all amenities; a simply marvellous infinity pool, which we couldn't get enough of; and wonderful hosts who could not have been more helpful, and seemed to have the balance just right between being involved in our holiday and letting us get on with it. The area is also stunning, which is of course well known, but you have to see it to believe it - hilltop town after hilltop town of stunning beauty with great restaurants and cafes. We really could not have asked for more: preparing now for all the back to school stuff, we miss Paciano a great deal!
Our second time staying at Poparello and I’m sure it won’t be our last. Our lovely hosts Geoffrey and Judith made us all feel so welcome and like part of their family. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they both have an abundance of knowledge of the local area and beyond. The pool is all you could ever wish for with the panoramic views making the location even more special. The air conditioned accommodation is outstanding, well kept, spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We all had such a relaxing time and didn’t want to leave. Poparello really is paradise on a gorgeous hillside in Umbria. Love The Clark family
A wonderful wonderful holiday! 3 weeks of bliss. Our hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much for them. The property is wonderful, comfortable beds, immaculately clean with everything that you need for a relaxing holiday. As for the pool, you will not find better, we spent many hours of our holiday looking at the view from the pool, with the water at 32 degrees for most of the time, even managed a night time swim which was a real treat. The property is close enough to larger cities but we found the local ones more appealing and authentic. Our hosts sorted tickets for the jousting Palio out in the stands so that we felt like part of the team- excellent.! Memories to treasure and friends made along the way. We will return!!
We have not long returned from a truly lovely 10 days at Poparello in Paciano. We are a family of 4 and have all thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful location. Poparello overlooks the most fabulous Umbrian views, providing peaceful and private accommodation, which is very much complemented by the lovely welcoming company of Judith and Geoffrey, the apartment owners. Judith and Geoffrey took away all the usual stresses of our first evenings meal, by providing us with a delicious BBQ and an opportunity to get to know them and hear all about the area and interesting things we could do to enhance our time in Italy with our 2 boys. We think that we took them up on almost all recommendations, from a day trip to Sienna, lunch over looking Lake Trasimeno, restaurants we could eat in, to which wine on the menu we might like to try. Each and every place we went to was as fabulous as Geoffrey had advised and as for the food and wine, just delicious! They also provided us with a lovely evening of pizza making along with the chance to join them at a near by town to see the jaw dropping spectacle of an enormous traditional flour fight, which we would never have discovered without them and our boys absolutely loved! This being said, we still felt that our holiday was mostly made up of private time as a family, where we were able to enjoy peaceful days on our own in and by the gorgeous pool. Poparello itself was incredibly well equipped, beautifully kept and very comfortable, along with a carefully put together folder, overflowing with information on all areas of Umbria and beyond. We cannot recommend Poparello more highly, beautiful views, great accommodation and really lovely genuine owners, who can't do enough for you, it ticks every box on every level. Thank you again Judith and Geoffrey.
As a family with small children we spent nearly two weeks here on our summer holiday. Geoffrey and Judith were very welcoming and offered some great advice about things to see and do in the area. Our children loved the pool, which also offers the reassurance of being fenced and gated. The apartment is well furnished and equipped with two terraces and the play equipment was a welcome bonus too. We would recommend it to other families.
My family (2 adults and 3 small children) had a great time at Poparello. Judith and Geoffrey, the hosts, looked after us extremely well and gave us lots of advice on what to do in the area. The apartment has very comfortable beds and the pool is gorgeous. We loved the salt water and the views are stunning. We saw eagles and heard wild boar! Highly recommend.
Poparello has a spectacular location with maybe the best views in Umbria. The infinity pool is beautiful. Judith & Geoffrey went above and beyond the call in providing a welcoming and inclusive holiday for our family. They provide an outstanding guidebook and information on what to see and do. The little extras are much appreciated.
POPARELLO is exactly as Judith and Geoffrey say 'Home is Where the Heart is'. Their hearts have gone into making this wonderful area of Umbria a 'Home'. We had a fantastic holiday at Poparello which is found a good mile off the main road so you are away from noise, other properties and is in an idyllic area with outstanding views. The apartment is attached to the main house with a private entrance. It has 2 spacious bedrooms, a modern shower room and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed excellent meals with Judith and Geoffrey as well as meals at L'Oca Bruciata in Paciano and Hotel Vannucci in Citta della Pieve. The American Bar also in Citta della Pieve is well worth a visit. Assisi, Lake Trasimeno, Orvieto, Cartona and Perugia are all accessible for a day visit. We visited Rome on the train which took just over the hour travelling time but also could have visited Florence in the opposite direction. Poparello has a wonderful Infinity Pool, a large terrace and play area for the children. Geoffrey can organise Wine tasting, Italian cookery courses and is more than willing to help to make your holiday so memorable.
The accommodation provided a welcome secluded clean, quality restful retreat yet still provided a convenient base to explore the wonderful sites of Umbria and Tuscany and the nearby numerous good dining opportunities. Relax by the large infinity pool taking in the breath-taking views from the comfortable sun loungers. Judith and Geoffrey provide a happy, friendly and helpful service to their guests and we have no hesitation in recommending Poparello.
