Stayed Jun 25, 2025Not clean. Trullo bathroom unclean with personal effects of the previous guests.Towels shabby. Outdoor kitchen-dirty & disorganized. Fridge dirty. Rodent droppings and dirty cloths below cooker. It smelt. Kitchen cloths dirty and from another era. Pots, pans etc. thrown into a plastic cupboard. Eventually got water glasses, expected to use plastic. Presented unclean - we found this disrespectful and totally unacceptable. Apulia is a beautiful place and this stay does not represent the beauty and the quality of accommodation elsewhere. Move on. We left early.

Stayed Aug 23, 2024A very individual accommodation. Small Trullo house just with a bedroom and a bathroom. The kitchen is outside and you need some creativity, if you want to cook. The pool is great and the landlord cares for you with wine and pastery. We had a very good time there.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Perfect for Summer and outdoor living. As the trullo is for sleeping and bathroom only actual living is outdoor. If you like this it's the perfect place to be. Very nice pool, very friendly host and all the place to visit (villages, nice Baches etc.) 10-30 min. by car. We enjoyed it.

Stayed Jun 16, 2019We had a wonderful stay at Trullo del Salento and it was a pleasure to meet Vincenzo and his delightful family, who were very welcoming. I was hesitant at first about booking after reading previous reviews, but although they live on site they were very discreet and not intrusive! Welcome pack was good- wine, water, beer, soft drinks, croissants, eggs and olive oil from their own olives. Communication via Whatsapp was very prompt for any queries. Antonio kept the pool spotless and most of the time we had exclusive use of it. He very kindly supplied us with organic fruit/vegetable/herbs from the big gardens. We had fresh eggs as well from their chickens. The location is great for either sightseeing or beaches. The trullo is small but adequate and beautifully restored. Thank you so much, we hope to come again.

Stayed Oct 6, 2018My husband and I were completely stunned by how perfect Trullo del Salento is. It really is a complete gem! Upon arrival, we received the warmest welcome from Antonio, the father of the owner. He showed us around the stunningly beautiful grounds, which were far larger than we had imagined. The trullo itself is quite compact, but really tastefully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable. We instantly felt at home. The immaculate grounds were so secluded, we completely forgot that there were neighbouring houses. We had originally planned to tour around the area, but the trullo was such an oasis that we ended up basking in the sunshine by the pool for the majority of our stay, and enjoying the outdoor kitchen in the evening. The hospitality was quite incredible. Antonio took us to see his chickens, and very kindly gave us some of the freshly laid eggs, which we thoroughly enjoyed for breakfast. He also brought us some wine from Vincenzo, and even some beautiful roses from the garden. Vincenzo, the owner, was exceptionally helpful, and responded to any queries we have almost immediately through WhatsApp. We were so sad to leave, and will absolutely visit again some day. In the meantime, we wholeheartedly recommend Trullo del Salento to anyone who loves peace and quite surrounded by beautiful nature. Thank you so much to Antonio and Vincenzo for a very memorable holiday.

Stayed Jul 14, 2018This property looks just like in the photographs. The pool and scenery is absolutely stunning. The trullo is basic but very reasonable priced. The pool is not private it is shared with the family and friends of the owner Vincenzo. If you are looking for a quiet, private holiday then perhaps this place is not suitable for you. We used whatsapp to communicate with Vincenzo whilst we were staying here because we don't speak Italian. He was very responsive to our request of having a couple quiet days to ourselves.

Stayed Jun 26, 2018The trullo is small but perfectly formed with everything you would need, very nice! Outdoor pool, grounds and kitchen are all immaculate and really beautiful. Very good location for access to Ostuni, San Vito del Normanni, Alberobello, Martina Franca and many other beautiful towns (we would definitely recommend a hire car). One slight note which echoes some of the previous reviews is that the family and their friends do use the pool and surrounding seating area on a very frequent basis so I’m not sure it could be described as a private pool. However they were very friendly. Antonio brought us fresh produce from the garden every day, it was really very kind and welcoming. Vincenzo was very helpful in giving us recommendations over WhatsApp and responded really quickly to any problems or queries that we had about the property. We would recommend a stay here, we had a lovely week.

Stayed Jun 8, 2018We are on the last day of our two week holiday in the gorgeous Puglia. My husband and I stayed at Trullo Del Salento for our first week. You will not find a cleaner pool and surroundings in the whole of Italy. Antonio cleans sweeps and tidies twice a day. He leaves little vases of fresh flowers in the unique outdoor kitchen along with fresh eggs and fresh fruit. The sleeping area is small but as we were outside the majority of our holiday, this was not a problem. The bed was extremely comfortable. This was our 4th visit to Puglia and again we were delighted with the delicious food and fabulous wine (so cheap in comparison to London prices). The owners had friends over for dinner one Sunday and we were invited for pizza and drinks. We had already eaten so declined their kind offer but had a chat with one of their friends who spoke very good English. There was no disruption to our stay. The nearby restaurant Osteria Tranquillo is a must. I suggest sharing the anti pasto. All food was amazing. Cooking equipment is basic but adequate. Olive oil, salt/pepper, balsamic etc all provided. Along with washing power/liquid, etc. Wi-fi is also good. If you want a get away place to chill and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Puglia, I recommend this accommodation. If you want home from home luxuries - a soulless hotel may suit better. A car is a must but I’d advise that for the whole of Puglia. So many places to visit and sadly so little time. We will be back. Thank you Puglia for another magical holiday.

Stayed May 25, 2018Trullo del Salento is largely as described by others. It is set in beautiful gardens with a large area filled with fruit, nut and vegetables. Antonio, the father, comes twice daily to water the plants and grass and clean the pool. He is very nice and attentive and, although has no English, we had fun conversing with him. We were kindly given fruit and eggs and invited to pick the strawberries that grew near the house. The Trullo itself is small but the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is large enough and is clean. It would have been nice to have had somewhere to hang my clothes, only two coat hangers are available and there is nowhere to hang them. During our stay, over 10 days, the toilet started to smell horribly. The outside kitchen is also clean and there is a hob, fridge with a small freezer compartment and a good washing machine. The main problem with the kitchen is the shocking lack of kitchen utensils and crockery. There are two pans and a battered frying pan, though I was given another small one once I'd pointed this out. We had a metal spatula, which was the only cooking utensil! We had no large plates, only 2 cups, 3 forks, 2 knives, and no wine glasses, sharp chopping or cutting knife, chopping board, serving spoons, cheese grater or microwave. The outside oven isn't workable and we weren't offered a barbecue. We have never stayed in a place with such bad equipment. It needs to be much, much better stocked. There also isn't a bicycle as advertised. The pool is beautiful and is one of the highlights of the place. We had lovely days sitting around the pool and cooling off during the hot days. It is very well tended and spotlessly clean. There are lights at night, which is lovely and atmospheric. The whole site feels very secure, with electric gates and evening lighting. We met Vincenzo who is very friendly and, though speaks very little English, made us feel very welcome. We met many of his family and friends, who came on the Saturday and Sundays on both the weekends we were there. This was an aspect we found very surprising. We hadn't understood we would be sharing the space and pool with others. Each Sunday around 10 people were around. The last Saturday evening we were kept awake into the early hours by Vincenzo and his friends, which was surprisingly inconsiderate. We really wanted a private space. We feel very strongly that the details need to be changed, to make it clear it is a shared area and pool.
