Cute As the Dickins Cottage
As you can see...we're high on this area!
We enjoyed this property immensely! From water activities on the lake to s’more’s around the campfire in the evening. Kym was very gracious and accommodating every need and then some. Would highly recommend this property for all ages and families.
We had a great time! Thank you for having us 3
As always, the stay was fantastic! The property even had some upgrades made that were unexpected yet appreciated!
We loved staying at Cute as the Dickens cottage. The house is in a peaceful neighborhood and just steps from a large, clear water lake. We had six people in our group and had plenty of space with lots of comfy furniture and areas to relax and enjoy. I loved the retro style, which was homey and well-cared for. A few family photos hanging on the wall shared some history of how much this cottage was loved. We were greeted with black and brown cows upon arrival, which was appreciated after traveling all day! Husband and kids caught fish in front of the house. They used the kayaks and paddle boat several times. My son played basketball everyday. We cooked meals in an inviting, clean and well-stocked kitchen and played games around the tables every night. The surrounding towns, beaches, restaurants, and shopping opportunities were endless. Kym provides a binder with all kinds of local attractions that was very helpful. We sat around the firepit and made s'mores one night (thanks to Kym who provided the ingredients and roasting sticks). The firepit was litterally a few feet away from the lake - it was beautiful! I already miss waking up to the gorgeous lake views, watching the family of swans, listening to the cardinals and drinking my morning coffee. Kym and her daughter Robyn were attentive, friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a great vacation. We are already planning another trip back! Thank you!
We had a great time. Every thing was perfect.
We were there over the Fourth, and the festivities surrounding the lake were fantastic. The cottage was a great spot for a group of all ages. The location right on the shallow lake was great for the little ones. The adults also enjoyed the lake and the patio. Host was very hospitable, welcoming, and quick to answer any questions or to address concerns. Short drive into town, and not much further for Douglas/Saugatuck or Holland. We’ll definitely consider a return trip in the future!
A great experience! This makes it 3 summers in a row that we have stayed at this property. It is well maintained, and a great place for family to enjoy and relax!
Property is as described with lakefron on Hutchins Lake at Fennville, MI. It is well located for a lake vacation on Hutchins Lake with a good variety of options nearby--within minutes to pick fresh fruit and visit wineries, short drive to Saugatuck dunes and Lake Michigan beaches (20 minutes or less), within 25-30 minutes of Holland to the north and South haven to the south, and a little over 1 hour west of Grand Rapids. Hutchins Lake is great for swimming, kayaking, and pontoon and speed boats. Hutchins is a quiet lake with low traffice alll week (no wake period from 7:30pm to 11am). Bring your own boat to use on Hutchins Lake (boat launch very close to cottage) or drive to Saugatuck or Holland to rent boats to use on the lakes there. There is no marina on Hutching Lake. We have throughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage for 3 years with prompt responses to questions from the owner.
We had a wonderful time at “Cute as the Dickins “! We loved the house, (with all the nostalgia from our childhood) and a perfect location. The kitchen was especially well stocked with items you often have to purchase in a rental. The view of the lake from the house was lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. The surrounding area was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the Saugatuck Dunes Park on Lake Michigan, the waterfront in Saugatuck, and touring the authentic Dutch windmill in Holland. We definitely plan to return! Our host Kym, and her daughter Robin, couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly.
We had an awesome week at the Cute as a Dickins cottage! Kym was very accommodating and a great communicator. We enjoyed every minute of our time there. From the morning Kayak rides to the evening fishing from the Paddle Boat. We swam and relaxed in the sun and even did some exploring downtown Fennville. 5 Stars! Would definitely rent here again.
