Flagstaff, Arizona
This has been my 2nd home for 20+ years. I don't get to Flagstaff often since I live outside AZ and only rent to longer-term guests. I'm a private owner and it's not a business for me. I'm always open to negotiating long-term stay rates with guests. Most stay for 6+ months at a time.
The property is 1,350 SF with an open floorplan and a vaulted living room so the living area feels really big. The upstairs two bedrooms and bathrooms are smaller but totally functional. There is an open loft with two twin beds but many guests use it as an office. All modern appliances. My sister owns the property next door - it's the only wall I share so super quiet.
It is an end unit so very bright, private, and quiet. Windows all open to wooded open space. I just added full central AC and put in a new modern gas fireplace. Everyone says it's a very comfortable place, and I agree which is why I bought it 20 years ago.
I maintain high-speed internet and Cable TV.
Had a great stay - we’ll be back!
Quiet, clean and within a mile of everything we needed.
Clean, well stocked, and conveniently located for our visit to Flagstaff. Highly recommend for the fenced in backyard and just 2 blocks from a dog park!
Hugh’s home is in a safe neighborhood, a great location, has a small enclosed backyard for dogs, comfortable beds, it conveniently has a downstairs half bath and a two car garage for security. Hugh was an accommodating host and allowed for a late checkout, which we greatly appreciated!
This was our first experience renting a house instead of a hotel, and it will be hard to go back! The property was in a beautiful location, weather was great, and the rate was very reasonable.
This home brought peace and tranquility to myself and my brother's lives. We stayed here together for 11 days. 24/7 in our 63 years together as siblings we never experienced this. It allowed us time to improve our relationship. Him a resident of Prescott with a dream of moving to Flagstaff. Me a resident of Wisconsin with a dream of being a part of his future.
My husband, daughter and myself just spent 9 wonderful days in Flagstaff. Our trip was planned fairly last minute (at least for me!) but it could not have been any nicer if I had started planning a year ago. We had never been to Arizona and were so happy we made the decision to go! We visited and hiked at The Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell, Glen Canyon, Walnut Creek Canyon, Sunset Crater and, Flagstaff's Buffalo Park. The scenery was so beautiful- pictures and words can not do justice to what nature has given us here. If you are a foodie, you will be very happy with the selection of gourmet restaurants that are in the area. Every restaurant that we ate at was great! We enjoy ethnic foods and had quite a choice here. We ate at a few of the restaurants that are right around the corner - Over Easy for breakfast (so good we went here twice!), Taverna (Greek Food), and Delhi Palace (Indian), as well as a few downtown Flagstaff establishments. Hugh had provided some recommendations and all were on the money. Downtown shopping is lots of fun too! There are many local shops that feature local artisans work which we found to be quite lovely. In an age when every town has exactly the same big box stores it is refreshing to shop where things are created with someone's own hands. The townhouse was very comfortable and very well equipped. We really did not lack for anything at all. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets of all types (we have stayed at places that were stingy with pillows and blankets in the past). It was WONDERFUL to come in at night and flick the switch on for the gas fireplace - instant ambiance!! We really felt right at home here; Hugh has set up a very warm and inviting home. I would recommend this townhouse to anyone traveling to the Flagstaff Area. It is convenient to all of the local attractions, about an hour and a half to the Grand Canyon and even closer to many other National Monuments and Area Attractions. We plan to see if it is available on our next trip as we had such a good time here we do plan to go back!
Great location and place to stay! Very comfortable and quiet.
Thank you Hugh for a great 2 weeks! Enjoyed ourselves so much and it was very comfortable at your place. Appreciated all the information you included. Everything was so nice and clean and very comfortable from the living room to the bedrooms! Such a great location, loved the neighborhood feel! Would definitely stay here again!
This property looks as the photos show it - and on the surface is pretty clean. Hugh, the owner/manager, was very helpful and quick to respond when we had a difficult time figuring out how the tv/roku/cable interacted. The beds were comfortable and the location very convenient - we walked to the nearby shopping areas where there are several good restaurants and a grocery store, only a 5 minute walk away. Downtown is a 7 minute drive. The condo has great bones - good layout, spacious living area and functional kitchen with a 2 car garage as well. The carpet was clean and the gas fireplace a nice touch on cool fall evenings. However, we are rating this a 3 because, for the price, the condo needs refreshing. The living room sofa, which seats 3, has springs so worn that those sitting on the left or right sides sink to their knees. The cookware in the kitchen is so used that the non stick surfaces are marred, burned and stained to a degree that using them is not appealing. The bed linens were stained and the bath towels an assortment of old, mismatched towels. The cleaning crew should be instructed to replace burned out bulbs over the stove, in the kitchen and wherever they find them. The vacuum cleaner was sitting in the living room when we arrived along with vacuum cleaner attachments on the floor. The kitchen trash can lid was coated with dried food and that was the first thing we cleaned when we arrived. There was a broken down chest of drawers in the sleeping loft that had been pushed to one side and left facing the wall. The small garden area needed raking/sweeping to make it inviting. These are not major things for the owner to address, but they certainly set an ambiance in the condo that doesn't make one want to return. We did not inform Hugh of these items while we were there - we came to relax and explore Flagstaff/northern Arizona. - so we bought sheets, a stainless cookware pot and pan and cleaned those things that most bothered us. This condo has a lot going for it and if the items mentioned above were addressed, we would rate it much higher. It is easy to get a rental property up and running and overlook the fact that things wear out with time. We think that this is the situation in this case and hope that this review is received with the spirit with which it is written - to create an ambiance in the condo that truly reflects the care and attention its owner demonstrates in his responsiveness to his guests.
