The home and location are very nice. The home was very clean and inviting. It was a memorable vacation there. A good place for family time.
Quiet and peaceful area
Convenient to the beach and great place to stay. We enjoyed staying at this property and would recommend to our friends .
We had a comfortable roomy stay. Felt like home, master bed and bath lovely, lots of storage space, mattress comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed, living room furniture comfortable and roomy. Porches were amazing. House was right on the beach.
Loved the location and the thoughtful amenities and things available for our stay. There were some minor things we reported to the property managers to address but a great place to relax and rejuvenate. However, there is a major mold/mildew issue in the downstairs suite. We had someone who was originally going to come with us - we are glad that it didn’t work out for her because the room was not ready for someone to occupy it. Its a shame though, because it is beautiful, and we were unable to use it at all. I suspect they will need to do some renovation work to address it, and would love to see that they had because the venue is great and it is apparent that the owners are gracious hosts. We found more to do in Appalachicola and in Port Saint Joe, which took us out of our way. The water in Carabelle was murky and not something we thought we would find. But, we would come back but hope the issues would be addressed. Thank you for an otherwise pleasant stay!
We had a great stay at Tranquil Winds. I hate fighting for a spot on crowded beaches, having our own little area was perfect! The waves are nice and calm bc of the barrier island, low tide is amazing. You can walk out so far! So many hermit crabs, snails, crabs, stingrays! We saw dolphins very close one morning! Also saw a bear in the empty lot next door!! We think us using the grill attracted it! So make sure you secure all food items indoors! The sand is that soft like flour sand! Even softer here than on St George! Beds were very comfortable! Patios were awesome! Big closet in the master was great for shoving all the luggage in so we weren’t tripping over it! I think my only suggestion would be maybe adding some plastic drinkware for kids.. Or if you’re heading there with kids, just bring some along!
Love the location.
The house was amazing! Very clean and exactly as described. Sitting on the back porch drinking coffee in the morning and swinging in the hammock was out favorite part! A few things we didn’t love: the house is very close to a HWY 98 and with little kids this made us very nervous. The sound of the cars also interferes with the relaxation of being at the beach. We had never been to Carabelle and did not realize that it is on the bay side rather than the ocean side. It wasn’t a huge deal but by Wednesday the tide changed and each day by 2 we had no water in front of us. Other than that it was great and we really loved the back porch!
This was our 2nd time staying at this property and we just absolutely LOVE this place!! We spent time In Tallahassee, Crawfordville (Leon sinks), Monticello (Wacissa river: Corky airboat tour), Tate’s Hell state park OHV, St. George Island, & Mexico Beach. Loved the fact that we could by our seafood from the locals (Lynn’s & Millenders seafood). Restaurants we recommend: aunt ebbys ice cream, Paddy’s raw bar, & blue parrot. Already planning 2023’s trip!!!
Fantastic property, private beach was incredible. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation!
We loved the whole feel of living like a local in Carrabelle! Tranquil Winds was so inviting and comfortable. It's literally right on the small natural beach. Our young adult daughter absolutely loved the swing-bed underneath the house...she is extremely sun sensitive, but this let her feel like she was still able to enjoy the ocean...even at night! The only negative I can even mention was that the tv didn't work, even after a (very nice and helpful) guy came out to get it sorted out. We really didn't miss it though, with such beauty all around! We hope to return in the future!
One of the most relaxing vacations I’ve had. Well stocked, well appointed and RIGHT out the back porch onto the beach! Wonderful!
