Welcome to Feather Ridge!
A delightful 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home located in the private mountain community of Fleetwood Falls. This mature community features paved roads and a neighborly, pet-friendly atmosphere. The cabin is less than 10 minutes the New River with plenty of outdoor activities such as canoeing, kayaking, tubing and fishing. Winding along with the river is Railroad Grade Road - formerly the site of the Virginia Carolina branch of the Norfolk and Western Railway that ran between Abingdon, Virginia and Todd, North Carolina. Today Railroad Grade road is a quaint, flat roadway that services motorists, but also bicyclists and walkers.
This one level home has been recently updated and renovated with new furnishings and air conditioning while boasting an intimate and well decorated modern space with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Out on the back deck, while enjoying outdoor dining or the gas fire pit, you will feel like you are in a treehouse looking out into the mature hardwoods.
*Firewood available for purchase after booking. Please contact Carolina Cabin Rentals if interested.
Guest will enjoy the peaceful quiet area, a great escape into a private community where you can get away yet not be too far to Boone or the close by town of West Jefferson with lots of art galleries, restaurants, breweries, and a local favorite, the Ashe County Cheese Co.
Guests will need to abide by the Fleetwood Falls Lake Park community rules and practices while enjoying the beautiful lake and trails.
This home was beautifully decorated and had everything you might need for a vacation getaway. The beds were comfortable and every detail was thought of for guests. The location and neighborhood in Fleetwood Falls is beautiful and we saw many deers; the only caveat I would mention is that the roads are steep and winding up the mountain. I also requested firewood from the rental company, but it had to be for all five nights we stayed ($25 a night). They didn’t allow us to choose how many nights we would like. We left four new bundles on the back porch that we didn’t get to use. I would probably suggest you buy your own firewood at the local supermarkets called Ingles. Nonetheless, I would stay here again as the home is cozy and quaint. Even thought it’s listed as a 2 bedroom, there’s a third bedroom with a bunk bed and pocket door for complete privacy.
My wife and I were very happy with the home. Nicely decorated, clean and a wonderful quiet neighborhood for a very relaxing vacation. I would highly recommend!
We loved everything about this home. Very clean, upgraded everything, comfy bed, great location, can't wait to stay here again!
