Located due south of Cahal Pech Archeological Reserve and just minutes from downtown, Lost Compass Cabanas is ideally situated for those travelers torn between being amidst the culture and cuisine of the city or the nature and tranquility of the surrounding jungle. Constructed entirely of Belizean hardwoods, the Toucan Cabana features a screened-in porch, Queen-size bed, full kitchen, and full bathroom - plus free Wifi and A/C! All furnishings and shelving have been locally designed and madespecifically for the cabana!
The property includes: the cabana area, which is fenced in and landscaped with a variety of flowering plants; the pool area, which features the inground pool, patio area, and lounge chairs (rafts provided); a bird-watching area, which is down a short trail and faces the reserve (binoculars and bird identification pamphlet provided); and, a smoking/assembly area, which is under a Gumbo Limbo tree surrounded by benches.
We live next door so we'd be happy to sit down with you (maybe over a cold Belikin ) to help out with recommendations or answer any questions you may have - or we can give you space to explore on your own (and drink cold Belikin by ourselves). It's totally up to you!

Adam and Rebecca are gracious hosts who made our trip to San Ignacio relaxing and enjoyable. You can walk to Helens supermarket in 25 minutes and the main market down town in 40 minutes. Taxis are abundant down town for the trip home. The cabanas are nestled in the canopy and provide a unique and quiet experience close to nature and wild life. Cayo tours provided a fantastic trip to Tikal that was unforgettable and Lost Compass was the perfect starting point! Everthing is pristine!

The pictures do not do this place justice! It is absolutely beautiful. The location is great, and the hosts have thought of everything you might need and provide it. The hosts are on-site and available to help give recommendations or provide extra help if needed. We never used the pool, but it appeared to be pristine. If you're on the fence about where to stay, don't be, this place is fantastic!!!

Loved the privacy - close to town but not in town. You can hear and see wildlife all around the cabin. Adam & Rebecca are accommodating, responsive, and helpful. The cabin itself is lovely - I appreciated the screened in porch, full kitchen, AC, and ceiling fan. The shower has good hot water and water pressure too (look, everyone has their own priorities.) Would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't want the noise of being in town/wants to enjoy the jungle. Would generally recommend having a car if you stay here (I did not have one), though Adam helped me out with a few rides into town, which I greatly appreciated. A taxi from town to the cabin was generally $10 bzd, which is more than fair, considering the hill!

Rebecca and Adam were great hosts! The cabana has so much character with beautiful wooden finishes and furniture. We had a fully equipped kitchen to cook meals and enjoy fresh coffee in the morning. The bed was super comfortable and everything was extremely clean. The hosts even provided a loaner towel to bring on day trips around San Ignacio! We followed Rebecca and Adam's recommendation when booking for tours around the area and were extremely satisfied with the quality of services (they recommended Cayo Inland Expeditions who picked us up and dropped us off at the Cabanas!). Thank you Rebecca and Adam, you made our stay in San Ignacio a breeze!!

Adam and Rebecca made our stay very welcoming. They were on hand if you needed anything and were very helpful. The property is located a bit out of the way but has everything to make for a comfortable stay. Located close to Cahal Pech. Adam was kind enough to give us a lift there, as we had no vehicle. The Cabana had interesting woodwork inside and surrounding the outdoor screened porch. We would stay here again.
