The amenities are endless at this beautifully updated mid-century home in one of Palm Springs' most iconic neighborhoods, Vista Las Palmas. Nestled at the foot of the San Jacinto mountain range, this home is in a quiet, upscale neighborhood that is walking distance from downtown Palm Springs.

The home boasts original design features like an atrium entry courtyard, shadow-block and glass wall, large skylights, natural beams and tongue and groove ceiling – all hallmarks of architect William Krisel’s midcentury design. The open living room is thoughtfully designed with midcentury influences, sufficient seating for the whole family, a large 60 HDTV, and a charming reading nook. Adjacent, an enormous dining space has seating for 12 and has an additional sofa lounge. Just beyond that is another cozy den with reading chaise and desk, and a full bathroom.

At the center of the home a fully-stocked gourmet kitchen basks in tons of natural light. Perfectly outfitted there’s granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, wine-fridge, 5 burner range, oven, warming drawer, microwave, and endless storage in sleek tiger-wood cabinetry. And to keep the chef company, there’s breakfast bar seating for 4.

The private wing of the home hosts an enormous primary suite with king bed, flatscreen TV, walk-in closet, and ensuite with a large walk-in double shower. There are two more guest bedrooms, both with king beds, flatscreen TVs and individual baths (one ensuite, one separate). All rooms in this home have independent outdoor access, opening to entry courtyard, side yard or pool.

Outside, a stand-alone casita with living room, full kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The casita living room boasts another 60 HDTV, and the bedroom has a luxury queen pillow-top bed that overlooks the lush yard, pool, and mountains. The casita also has its own patio, an amazing pergola with outdoor suspended daybed, and fire pit.

In the backyard a pristine, topaz-blue saltwater pool and spa sparkle under the San Jacinto mountain range. There is an original shadow-block wall water feature, custom pool-side lounge seating surrounding a gas fire pit, a 10 person outdoor dining table and outdoor kitchen.

RULES AND THINGS TO NOTE:
**Pool and spa heat are optional for $30-$80 per day. This fee is not included in the quoted price on some booking platforms and, if not, will be collected after you book.
**Minimum age for every guest is 25 unless accompanied by a parent. No groups larger than 8 (regardless of age) and no parties.
**Palm Springs has strict noise, occupancy, and parking rules, INCLUDING THAT NO MUSIC IS ALLOWED OUTSIDE AT ANY TIME. Violation of these rules will result in a $1000 fine and immediate eviction from the house with no refund.
**Included in your booking is an accidental damage waiver fee which applies to covered damage up to $2000. Rules and limits apply. See the rental contract for more information.
**On rentals of 28-nights or more renter is responsible for the entire gas and electric bill from check-in to check-out based on meter reads. A $3500 utility deposit will be collected after booking and will be applied to these bills. Any remaining balance will be refunded to you.
**The City of Palm Springs requires an additional written contract which you must sign after you book and requires that you send us a copy of your ID before you check in.
**This house is dog-friendly (2 max) with prior approval and payment of an additional pet fee. No other animals allowed.

    Topaz house is a delightful property that was just as beautiful in person as it was on the listing. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large, private and very comfortable. Casita is a great addition. Good kitchen for cooking/entertaining and the pool/deck/firepit were fantastic. We'll be back.

    It was a nice cozy place, needs a lot of work. The day we got there, hot water was sporadically working in the main house and not at all working in the casita, three days later, the casita hot water was fixed. The icemaker was not working, the dishwasher had broken pieces in it. The pool and the hot tub were cold when we got there, it took another day after we got there to get the pool heated, we lost two days of pool time as a result of the pool heater not working, we paid for this service. The flooring is old and needs to be redone.Lars, the contact person at Altimira Vacation Rentals managing this property was very responsive and did his best to help, some issues out of his control.We were there to spend time as a family over a holiday, instead, we ended up making multiple calls to Lars on all these issues.This place is overpriced for having all these issues, VRBO should do a better job validating price/value of these kind of places.After being a VRBO customer for years, we would have to think twice about renting from them after this experience.

    This property is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with a spectacular mountain view from the backyard pool area. The house is well furnished and well stocked with everything for a family stay. The separate casita was the perfect bachelor pad for our adult son who was staying with us. The Altamira staff were friendly and responsive. The only issue we had was with the hot water (it wasn't hot - there were instructions provided in the property manual about how to increase the water temperature but it didn't work for me - I'm not a fan of instantaneous water heaters). The hot tub at the pool was hot though - and easy to operate with a single button (rather than a phone app or i-pad that we've had issues with at other properties we've stayed at in the neighbourhood). Would definitely stay there again - we were reluctant to leave after a very relaxing weekend. The waterfall option at the pool was great too to silence any noise coming from nearby homes (Palm Springs was a popular venue for the long weekend).

    My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The weather was wonderful so we were able to fully use the beautiful backyard. The hosts were very responsive to the few questions we had. The kitchen could use some updating, but the cupboards were stocked nicely for preparing meals. We will definitely be staying again.

    This is a great family property in one of the iconic neighborhoods of Palm Springs. Our group consisted of six adults and two children - five and four months. First, this is a wonderful neighborhood. Very quiet, even with new construction going on a few doors down. The walking here is fantastic if you enjoy seeing all the homes of former celebrities. Most of them lived here. This quiet cul de sac is nestled under the mountains. Exceptional views. It's the best neighborhood we've ever stayed in. The house is spacious and well furnished. We all fit very well with lots of room to be together. The casita is very nice as well. The beds and linens were top notch, and an added plus was how quiet the bedrooms were. No one had any issues sleeping. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything you could need. The backyard and pool area was nice as well. The gas bbq is amazing - very high end - and it made for some excellent grilling. Our week, unfortunately was cool, but the owners keep the pool and spa nice and warm, so we could use them regardless of the weather. There were some small touches that were nice - plenty of paper towels (sometimes you only get on roll), tissues in every bathroom and lots and lots of towels for both the baths and pool. Property management was highly attentive. When we arrived we had issues with the hot water. They were immediately on it and had the issue resolved that day. We had a wonderful time.
