Stayed Jan 18, 2026My son and I visit Sewanee University and stayed overnight. We loved the stay. The house was cozy and comfortable. It was freezing the night we stayed or we would've enjoyed the firepit...so quiet and peaceful there. The kitchen was well equipped with the necessities needed. I honestly hope my son chooses Sewanee for college so that I can take 2 day mini vacation in this tiny home community when I come to visit him.

Stayed Nov 22, 2025This compact house sits on a beautiful lot next to the woods. Several lovely hiking trails surround the gated community, which is quiet. The only reason I gave this property a three for family-friendly is that the home has a loft with a ladder. It is perfectly fine for kids over about 5/6 but I would be nervous if I had toddlers. All in all, the house was very comfortable—clean with well-equipped kitchen and very nice outdoor space (beautiful deck and fire pit). I would book this property again.

Stayed Oct 22, 2025The location was nice with walking trails. The tiny home had a very musty smell. The rug in the living area was dirty and there was a large amount of dust in the heater vents. We had trouble figuring out the remotes for the heating units but maintenance came pretty quickly to help figure it out. A visitor manual would have been helpful to navigate the residence as well as the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Also, when we took the garbage out, there were candy wrappers and other garbage left from a prior visit in the bottom of the pale.

Stayed Oct 12, 2025Everything was as advertised. Only rating it 4 stars due to the overwhelmingly strong mildew smell in the house. We had all windows open to air it out and even gotten some small candles, but it did not get rid of the smell. The rug in the living room did have a few stains and should probably be replaced. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. We loved the outdoor area. The firepit was well stocked with firewood, and even had a picnic table to eat outside.

Stayed Sep 21, 2025We enjoyed the stay but the place had a smell like it needed to be aired out so we went to the store and get air fresheners. I was not impressed with the soap, shampoo, conditioner & the living room rug was very stained but everything else was fantastic. The outdoor area was our favorite however there are so many dead trees that need to be taken down. The Deer Lick trail was challenging but was so beautiful.

Stayed Feb 21, 2025We booked for “Mom’s Weekend” in Sewanee. This was not the property we stayed at because it was double booked. The company offered us a different property and we had to accept. The property was clean. We will probably give that company another chance in hopes that the communication between Vrbo and the owners of the properties is better.
