Tiki Velo - Cool Retro House with Heated Pool

This house has a smoke problem. I notified the host when I arrived that the house smelled of cigarette smoke - he directed me to use the ozone machine that was located in the hallway closet. This tells me he knows there is a smoke problem even though the house is described as no smoking. Ozone is not a safe gas, and ozone generators are not supposed to be used in an occupied property. I did use the machine and it temporarily helped the smell, but anytime the house was closed up for any amount of time the smell came back. I went away overnight and when I came back the smell was just as strong as when I first arrived, even though I had left the ozone machine on the max timer when I left. I booked another place to stay since I do not want to be breathing smoke particles. I asked the host to refund my unused nights and he initially agreed, but then he came to the house unannounced and demanded to verify the problem. I had had the sliders open and the ceiling fans running all day and so the smell was not very apparent at that time, and the host stated that he was not, after all, going to refund my unused nights. I left anyway.If you don't mind breathing cigarette contaminated air, this is an OK place - quite a lot shabbier than the pictures with chipped paint and scratched furniture, but OK. Cleanliness not great - I picked up 4-5 old dog turds in the yard when I first arrived, which the cleaners should have taken care of. In short, you can do better than this place.

Disappointed. The backyard was a mess. The people who last stayed here were definitely partiers. Tiki’s were broken trash and clothes and other(yikes) things left. I told Steve and he did nothing about it. Also had repair men show up the first morning of our stay AFTER I had requested them to please wait until we were gone.

Comfortable and quiet, loved the pool.

The place itself was great. Fun theme, nice outdoor space, heated pool, great water pressure, well stocked.We were immediately hit with the smell of cigarette smoke when we walked in. The listing says there is no smoking allowed, but there are obvious signs of smoking on the property. Cigarette butts outside, and other signs inside that a long-term smoker has been living on the property.Turning on all the fans in the house and leaving the back sliders open helped. We spent as much time in the back yard as we could. Every time we walked back in we could smell it though.

We enjoyed our stay and the property manager Steve was very helpful. We have no complaints.

If you’re going to be staying in Phoenix this place is great! Pools nice. Fire pit and BBQ were good to go. The way everything is set up you get tons of privacy inside and out.

Our stay was definitely cozy and wonderful ! Quiet neighborhood, pleasant amenities provided within the house! Me and my guest loved it!

Definitely worth it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Phoenix.

This place was awesome, exactly as advertised and hands down the cleanest, most well stocked place I've ever stayed. The immediate neighborhood was quiet and clean, definitely felt safe there. The surrounding area though left a little to be desired but access to the highway to get to Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sedona, etc was just a few minutes away so not a huge deal. Overall, 10 out of 10 recommend, sadly I have too many places still on my bucket list to visit so likely won't be headed back anytime soon but will 100% recommend to anyone I meet traveling to Phoenix.
