Edgartown, Massachusetts
We own a charming Cape Cod house in a quiet residential neighborhood only three blocks from Main Street Edgartown and the Harbor. The house has three available bedrooms and two full bathrooms, an outdoor shower and private backyard, plus a gas grille. Our house is well maintained, charmingly decorated and clean, with a flat-screen television, Wifi, landline and various board games for guests to use. We are looking for people who want a quiet summer getaway -- for a week or at a minimum four days. WhiIe I live on the premises, I sleep in a separate section and our guests have full use of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and the dining areas; the kitchen is a shared space. If you have a car, you can park in the driveway right next to our house.
This is a wonderful little house with a gracious host. It's neat and clean and very comfortable--it's been in the same family for several generations, but is very well-maintained. Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, nice living room to relax in, pretty yard with a picnic table and grill. In a quiet neighborhood, but very convenient to Edgartown shops and restaurants. I'd stay there again--and again.
Great location, beautiful short walk to downtown Edgartown. Allison, the landlord, was very helpful with recommendations, etc., and was a lovely host.
Great location. The owner was kind and accommodating. Would definitely come back.
When I signed the agreement to rent for a week and paid in full Feb 2018 – part of the Description read as follows “While my husband and I live on premises in a separate private section, our guests will have full access to the living room and dining room areas as well as the kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. We have a very well behaved collie named Luna who stays mostly in the backyard or in our private quarters.” On August 22, 2018 I received an email from the owner stating “the kitchen is shared space.” So I looked at the description again and it now reads “While my husband and I live on the premises, we sleep in a separate section and our guests have full use of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and the living and dining areas; the kitchen is a shared space.” What it doesn’t say is the private section is accessible only from the living room and does not have a bathroom. Their bathroom is in another room off the living room. My wife wanted to cancel these reservations as soon as we received the Aug 22nd email. By then ferry reservations and preMVY reservations were in place. Not sure how long they have been renting but a Bait and Switch situation for us. Will ask detailed questions for our next rental.
This is a beautiful home, and quite spacious with a kitchen, sizable living room, and a separate dining room. The entire property is very, very clean and well-maintained. The three bedrooms are spacious, and very pretty. Plenty of closet space, extra linens, and bureaus for your clothes. The downstairs bedroom bathroom is a little small, but I was able to make it work very easily...and I brought a lot of stuff LOL! The upstairs bathroom is enormous. Air conditioning units work just fine. The backyard is nicely landscaped, with a picnic bench under a gorgeous tree, along with a few chairs where one can enjoy the peace and quiet underneath the foliage. Very private. Plenty of room in the garage for bicycles. Alison carves out plenty of room in the kitchen fridge and cabinets to store whatever you may need. She is extremely accommodating, and makes herself practically invisible, and yet she's available for anything. I accidentally left my phone in an Uber vehicle and went into full-blown panic. Alison rushed to the crisis and immediately navigated on her tablet what to do, and within a few minutes, my phone was returned. Alison is exceptionally kind, generous, and fun to be around. We always looked forward to seeing her. This is really a terrific location, only a couple of blocks off of Main Street Edgartown, very affordable, and again, Allison is a lovely host. Give this place a good look, you won't regret it. And Allison, if you're reading this, you can expect us to come back! We love love love your home and you! Thank you for everything!
Charming house close to downtown Edgartown. Within walking distance to Main Street. The downstairs room was very small with a tiny shower and bathroom. We suggest you use the upstairs bedroom and larger bathroom which is better but the stairs are steep. We had access to most of the house. The inn keeper was very accommodating and friendly.
