Stayed Sep 18, 2025We had a fun visit at the Yellow House on the farm while in the area. It was lovely, quiet and peaceful. Mornings on the porch watching turkeys, roosters and deer was something you just can't do at home. Rachel was a terrific host. Very helpful and accommodating. The milk and cookies were a nice touch. We hope to stay there again and have already recommended this place to friends who will be traveling through.

Stayed Dec 27, 2025Great place in the country! Only about 20 min from places in Altoona and State College. The house had everything you could think of. It was so nice to arrive to some local milk and cookies, especially when having kiddos along. Highly recommend. We would stay here again.

Stayed Dec 19, 2025The house was clean and spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed all the rooms, including the family room to watch Christmas movies. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat meals. The location was beautiful to be able to stand out on the porch and listen to all the sounds of nature and see the beautiful sky at night. Thank you for a wonderful stay we really enjoyed our trip

Stayed Dec 3, 2025The yellow house was perfect. Peaceful, quiet, the house was well stocked with every thing you need and Rachel the host had milk and cookies waiting for us. It was nice to hear the rooster in the morning and see deer running in the fields. If ever back in Altoona this will be our go to.

Stayed Sep 8, 2025We (2 couples) had the most delightful stay at the Yellow House which is nestled on a farm property away from the relative hustle and bustle of Altoona. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed—especially with the thoughtful touch of cookies and milk waiting for us!The house was spotless, cozy, and well-appointed. The kitchen was impressively stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the TV room had 2 extremely comfortable sofas where we relaxed after an early evening enjoying a fire in the firepit (with provided wood). Communication with the host was excellent—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. It’s clear they care deeply about creating a welcoming experience. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a country farm setting.

Stayed Aug 21, 2025Our 2 nights here were nothing short of perfection. We were in town for the weekend while we moved our daughter in to Penn State. Our family is also from a rural area so this property gave us peace and quiet that you can never find at a hotel. The house was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. We were also given cookies and a bottle of milk that may have been the most delicious milk I’ve ever had. We will definitely utilize this listing in the future for our next visit.

Stayed Jul 6, 2025Many positives to this rural home. Privacy, nature, super clean, easy to find & keyless check in. Cookies & milk a plus. Only downside for me is that bedrooms and the bath weren't on the same floor. (I've got a bad knee). Otherwise it looks just like the pictures. If you're looking for rural and peace and quiet, this is the place. Enjoyed my stay.

Stayed Jun 18, 2025My husband and I were looking for a place to visit within a couple hours drive to an area we haven't explored yet. Deciding upon visiting DelGrosso's Amusement Park we looked for a VRBO listing within close proximity. We are so glad we discovered The Yellow House. Rachel's communication was outstanding...very clear instructions, directions, and photos made it easy to find and a welcome environment upon our arrival. The Yellow House is adorable and comfortable. The little touch such as cookies and milk was greatly appreciated. If we venture to the area again, The Yellow House would be our first choice.

Stayed May 17, 2025This was one of the cutest little houses I've rented off VRBO. The owner makes finding the house VERY easy (the other review someone left was clearly by someone who didn't communicate). My trip was last minute, but the owner make the house just as welcoming. From the farm fresh milk and local baked brownies to the comfortable and updated furnishings, this place is a genuine retreat. My partner and I definitely plan on returning!

Stayed Apr 5, 2025The Yellow House is adorable, perfectly appointed, and clean and tidy. We loved it! From the fresh milk and cookies waiting for us on arrival to the easy and friendly communication with Rachel, the owner and manager, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. The beds are comfy, and little details are great- like bedside lights that turn on with just a tap and power outlets right in the night tables. At the end of a long day, we all appreciated the couch and loveseat where all of the seats reclined!

Stayed Dec 28, 2024Decided to take the family back to Central Pennsylvania for a New Year’s holiday trip. I needed a property that would be big enough to comfortably house 5 people, and this property was the ideal size from looking at the listing. Upon arrival we immediately were impressed with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the house. Rachel took great care to decorate the house and make it feel at home. Since it was the holiday season, the house was decorated with holiday decorations, and she even had milk and cookies waiting! The family loved the all of the canvas art of the cows also. The setting of the house was also a plus for my family. Although I’m originally from the area and used to a rural environment, my family has been born and raised in Atlanta…definitely not rural. My wife and daughters loved seeing the chickens, ducks, and cows. The house was easy for me to find. The entrance to the farm is located at the intersection with stop signs at all directions and has pillars at the entrance with a sign with the name of the farm on it. From there, Rachel provided specific directions to the house. Pretty simple. Communication with Rachel was great. She was quick to respond and directions were precise and clear. I’ve been renting vacation rentals in the Central Pennsylvania area for years, and this property has been the first to provide an abundant amount of space for my family. Additionally, the house is clean and modernly updated. I highly recommend the Yellow House!
