The Williamsburg Retreat - Gorgeous Private Acreage

The property was stunning and the house was amazing. We did have an issue with the thermostat, due to us not be able to control it we we’re pretty cold throughout the night. Gary controls the thermostat which was a bummer but overall the house was great. We enjoyed our stay.

The property is anazingly spacious. Communications with the owners was prompt and very friendly. The property has everything you need including an exercise room and a wonderful back deck and grill. The property is quiet and relaxing on the front porch was a real treat.

One of the room has taxidermied animals in it. This is listed as one of the rooms with beds to it would have been nice to know that up front as no one in our group wanted to stay up there so it was a little of an inconvenience. Other than that, the property is very nice and clean. Owners communications was outstanding.

This is a very family-friendly home-- lots of toys and amenities for children. We had 7 adults and 2 babies in our party and there was ample space for all with a crib, pack & play, high chair, and tons of toys for the kids. The fresh eggs each morning from their chickens were fun too! It's a quiet location--except when the train goes by, but they have sound machines in each room so just make use of them. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This property was lovely and just what our large family needed! With 5 bedrooms, we were able to spread out and not be on top of each other but still enjoy family time in the large common areas. Pros:-super clean! -plenty of indoor and outdoor space-our kids loved collecting and eating fresh eggs from the chickens -kitchen was well equipped and easy to navigate-each of the huge walk-in closets was a different activity for young children. One was a kitchen, one a store, one a dress up closet-there was a playground and a treehouse which our kids loved-great location—convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Busch Gardens and more-ample linens and towels were provided Cons:-4 of the 8 beds used by our family were uncomfortable. 1 mattress very hard, 1 with a large dip in the middle, one very lumpy, and 1 just generally uncomfortable -the only TV was in the open concept area downstairs. It would be nice to have a TV somewhere else so the kids could watch a cartoon without everyone having to hear it. -only 1 key was provided which was inconvenient with 6 adults trying to come and go at different times-the beautiful plush grass pictured in the listing was roped off and not to be walked on which was a little disappointing Overall, we would definitely stay here again if we returned to Williamsburg.

Fabulous!! The pictures do not do it justice. Family friendly, pristine and private. The hosts are terrific and the location is ideal for those looking for a spacious lay out in a very relaxing environment. This home has everything!!

Extremely clean and comfortable property

This is the perfect house for large family gatherings to visit loved ones in Williamsburg. It was our second stay, but definitely not our last!

The house was exceptional- very spacious and very clean. The Christmas decorations were an added touch that made us feel at home. The host was very prompt in replying to all correspondence.

House was great! Nicely decorating for Christmas. The tray of fresh warm brownies on the counter when we walked in was a very nice touch. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The bedrooms were quite comfortable and the kitchen was large a well equipped.

This property was perfect for our large family group. Everyone had their own space and was comfortable. It is a beautiful property. It is bright and sunny and looks out over a field. The large back deck with fire pit was a nice place to gather and relax.The hosts are great and were very accommodating for our arrival. The brownies , hot from the oven were a welcome treat after a very long car ride. They were very responsive to any questions we had. We will visit again and be sure to stay here.

We enjoyed the house very much.Would suggest arriving during daylight due to railroad track and location.Dryer in the laundry room needs too be checked. We washed and dried a load of laundry. Clothes smelled like mildew after using the dryer. Tewa shed the clothes. Dryer in garage was fine.

My friends and I had a great time. We loved the property. It was very central to all the sites of the area.

Very spacious, affordable property nestled off Richmond Road. Very clean, great hosts and the house had all the amenities needed. Can’t think of a thing they missed. Fresh eggs daily, if you like! Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown area.

We really want to thank Jennifer and Gary for a wonderful place to stay! The home is beautiful in a very serene setting! When we checked in we thought it was way in the country, but it is actually very close to everything we needed and very close to all the historical parts of Williamsburg, Jamestown and York!It would be wonderful for several families with children to stay! Most of the bedrooms have private restrooms attached!Jennifer was very prompt answering any questions we had! Very nice people!You will really enjoyed our stay here and recommend it highly!

Beautiful home in great location, the best VRBO we have stayed in. The owners were fantastic and so friendly. Would highly recommend this property for anyone. Great spaces and the deck was superb.

This house was perfect for our family reunion. We had ages ranging from older adults to six years old and everyone commented about how they loved this house. The owners are very communicative and set up the sleeping arrangements perfectly. It’s ideally situated to do all the fun things around and we would definitely stay here again!

This house was the perfect setting for our family of 9. We had so much space, the home was so clean and well stocked. They really thought of everything we could possibly need. The Brownies at check-in was a superb touch, For us the best part was the back deck! We could have stayed out there the whole trip! Close to Colonial Williamsburg, Bush Gardens, Golfing and the Outlets this house was in the perfect spot! Hope to return soon!

This is the second time that my group has stayed at this magnificent home. Both times we found that the home was furnished with anything that you may need. The kitchen is well equipped, bedrooms and living room are clean amd large, the outside covered deck is huge with plenty of seating. The hosts could not have been more responsive to any communication. All was wonderful!

The house was pristine. The playrooms were fun for the kids. The layout of the house was great for a large group and the yard and play areas were also great. The kids liked collecting eggs in the morning. I can't say enough about the house or the experience.

To quote my daughter, “it feels like we are in a home and not a rental”. We were greeted with delicious brownies and muffins. It was a great experience by all.

This house had something for everyone! The adults loved the porch and beautiful surroundings, the older kids enjoyed the privacy of the “secret bedroom” and the 4 year old loved all of the toys! There was plenty of space for everyone to eat together, play games and enjoy our extended family trip!

My friends and I had such a great time time making meals, cooking on the grill and chilin’ at the house after our rounds of local golf. Normally, I have to bring LOTS of things from home to make gourmet meals. Not here — cookware, serving bowls, plenty of glassware, everything needed to make nice meals at “home” - what a treat. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor is so inviting to chill after a day exploring and experimenting Williamsburg. I highly recommend this home and look forward to another stay!

This house is simply amazing!!! Wonderful space for multiple families to gather, relax and cook family meals together. House was beautifully decorated for Christmas—a nice touch since we were three families far from home for the holiday. The house was exactly as pictured in the listing/photos and the owners were super easy to communicate with. House is minutes from Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, New Town and other attractions. The farm fresh eggs and brownies were a nice touch!

This home is lovely, cozy and spacious. I loved all the thoughtful touches such as the home being decorated for Christmas as we were in Williamsburg for Christmas Town. Wow! Plenty of kids toys, books, play stations. Kitchen was well stocked even had a crockpot. Very clean. The porch is huge and enjoyed the scenery from the back porch while sipping coffee by the fire pit. A tray of delicious brownies awaited our arrival. Looking forward to a return stay

This was probably the best VRBO I've ever stayed in. We were met with a plate of delicious brownies that were still warm and a spotless house that was thoughtfully decorated for Christmas. The property is beautiful and affords privacy with the amount of acreage. Our girls were able to get fresh eggs from the chickens each morning. Overall, we just felt really refreshed after staying here and would love to come again sometime. Thank you, Jennifer and Gary!

Three generations enjoyed this beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped home. The property is gorgeous and the home has lots of children's equipment and toys. The owners are extremely responsive which is a change from other VRBOs. If you have a large group and want to be a bit outside of downtown Williamsburg, I would highly recommend this wonderful house.

Good location to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. Also a lot of shopping and restaurants nearby

Stayed here with family for over 2 weeks. The house is very clean and one of the best we have stayed at for over 16 years of vrbo travel. Lots of kitchen tools, utensils, plates, etc. Wifi worked well to do work remotely. The location is perfect - about 10 miles to Colonial Williamsburg while yorktown, jamestown, and busch gardens are all about 15-30 min away. note: the house is by the train tracks and there are trains that run through out the day and night. You can really tell the owners take care of the place. Pictures and listing is accurate. shampoo, soap, etc is provided which is nice. Homemade brownies were made for our arrival was a very tasty surprise. We gathered cage free eggs pretty much every morning and had wonderful breakfasts. The owners were easy to get in contact with and were quite responsive. some feedback, but not a deal breaker at all - change master to king and add another night stand - upgrade quantity and quality of the bath towels - add a few more bathmats and towel racks all in all, the house provided a wonderful vacation. I highly recommend this place and if my travels take me to VA again, I will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a great vacation! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved the property and the house. Small issue with one of the upstairs tub drainage first night, but we fixed it with hot water and plunger. Enjoyed the brownies and fresh chicken eggs.(nice extra)Loved the back porch! Overall enjoyable and visit to Old Town of Williamsburg! God Bless! Bill
