This 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath house sits on Brighton Creek in Darien, GA, overlooking Doboy Sound and Sapelo Island. It is believed to have been built using salvaged materials from several nearby homes blown down in the hurricane of 1825 – an original repurposing project! After several renditions, it was completely restored and modernized in 2014. With a suite on the main floor and three bedrooms upstairs, fully stocked kitchen, and a large den with a large bar and wood-burning fireplace, it is the perfect location for family and/or friends gatherings. Though most will prefer to spend their time outside, enjoying the rare, uninterrupted views. The most stressful part of your stay may be deciding whether to gather on the large wraparound porch, the screened-in pavilion with fireplace, the patio or the large fire kettle placed creekside. There are plenty of spaces to gather all together or spread out for more intimate conversations. Two of the best spots for relaxing alone or in the company of others is the swinging porch bed and the outdoor sauna. Regardless of where you spend your time, you cannot help but find yourself relaxing and letting the stresses slip away.

We loved our stay at the Thicket Cottage. Communication with our host was smooth, the house itself was incredibly clean and well laid out, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you’d ever need for cooking. Not to mention, it is an absolutely gorgeous location. Great for families. Our kids loved it. We hope to go back!
Great place to slow down and relax. Loved the house and area and will go back again
The attention to detail was amazing. All the amenities you could want and very responsive property manager. Good fishing and crabbing off of the dock.
We had such a fun time at the Thicket Cottage! It was nice to relax and fish. There was a crab trap and we caught dinner (8 crabs). The oyster house provided a great space for a festive family dinner and crab boil. The main house was full of character and charm. We really appreciated the Southern hospitality provided by host Emma’s Driftwood Farm (next door manager). The fresh eggs, cornbread mix, charcuterie plate, etc. were a thoughtful touch. We would definitely come back if ever in the area. Thank you!
