Easy to town and ski resort. Loved the place
Had a wonderful stay at this property. The location worked out great for the five of us who spent the week fly fishing the incredible rivers & streams in the area. Lots of space to spread out. Very cozy with nice amenities. We realized before booking that the hot tub was out of service however it would be great if owner would fix or replace as we would consider staying here again. The only other recommendation would be to replace the screens in the sliding doors off each bedroom. We had unusually warm temps during the week and would have been nice to keep door open for fresh mountain air but didn’t due to the screens being in disrepair. Technically a minor situation but an easy an inexpensive repair. Thanks for wonderful home. It worked out great for our trip.
This property was beautiful and I couldn't be more happy that we found it. I read some not so glowing reviews and was nervous about the house BUT when we got there we felt nothing but peace! The house was meticulously clean, secure and wonderful. Our daughters (ages 6 and 9) felt right at home and the house is so big they were able to explore while my husband and I enjoyed the many decks. When we had questions, we got responses immediately but we didn't have to ask many questions because they provided ample information with the check in/out process. Couldn't have been more happy with our stay.
The Sun King Chalet is surrounded by trees and nature. We saw deer come near the cabin. The TVs were set up with many options. The dinning area was open and a wonderful spot to gather with friends and/or family. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoyed. The kitchen is well stocked, and the bathrooms offer plenty of towels. The check-in process was very smooth. We really enjoyed our stay.
The overall stay was nice because we have fun no matter what. The views are breathtaking and it’s absolutely silent, especially at night. The location was a bit further away from town than we expected (22 min). The home was clean with the exception of the loft areas in the upstairs bedrooms that had the extra beds. The rooms had a lot of mouse droppings on the beds, floors and nightstands. However, the property manager sent out a cleaning person right away and they bleached the areas and changed the linens. The BIGGIE was the fact that the Hot Tub was broken. The PM claimed they sent an email letting us know, but I went through all of the correspondence and there was nothing. We ALWAYS rent a property with a Hot Tub. The PM did end up reimbursing us a small amount as compensation. The house was interestingly decorated, but very spacious, homey and comfortable. We called the massive dining table “The Dr. Seuss table”. The kitchen and bathrooms are all newly renovated. Noise does travel between floors bc it’s a log cabin and there are vents between the floors. It took a few days to figure out all the light switches, most are labeled. We would stay again if there was a functional Hot Tub as it did accommodate our family of 9.
Property was amazing with incredible views. Only concern was that the hot tub was not working and we were really looking forward to take advantage of it with the views from it.
Great place up in the mountains but close enough to town to easily enjoy the hot springs and Adventure Park. Enjoyed our stay!
It was very rustic quiet getaway. The views of the changing leaves where everywhere. Tons of room with a nice kitchen and large family table for dinner and games. Kids loved the lofts. Close to town.
Great location! Very quiet and peaceful.
We found this spot a year ago and keep coming back. Steve's cottages are like a step back in time. The central location, amazing views and amentities are all fantastic. We'll keep coming back as long as he'll have us!
Weather lovely and views great. There were several maintenance issues. Firstly the railings along the back of the deck were free swinging and not attached to the upright post at all. The railings were falling out and the woodwork could do with some fresh stain/paint. Dangerous for adults lethal for young children. The faucet in the kitchen sink loose and liable to come off at any time. The fabric on one of the patio chairs was obviously weathered very badly and rotted through. It was unusable. The small upstairs bedroom on the left had nails sticking out from the wood at the door latch. Not the best design throughout the house unfortunately. When we arrived the house was full of flies. In the kitchen and the upstairs bedrooms in particular. When I spoke with Serina she explained that the screens had been damaged in a wind storm. Not the responsibility of the guest. There was no fly swatter to be found so off into Glenwood we did trot to buy fly swatters. I did call and talk with Serina on these issues as this was not a cheap holiday and I will not appreciate my damage deposit being used for general maintenance on the property. These issues were not of our making. Maybe Cactus Vacation management should speak with the owners of this property and have them invest some money in property maintenance. Unfortunately the accommodation was a bit disappointing.
Great property, off the beaten path.
The property was Beautiful! We enjoyed waking up to the breathtaking views and soaking in the hot tub under the stars. The large dining table was perfect for family meals and board games. While at the property it was easy to forget you were only a short drive into town, which created the perfect balance of convenience and sanctuary. We will definitely keep it on our list of properties we will revisit!
