The School House of Gettysburg, rural setting close to main attractions

The house was very lovely, everything was very clean and quaint. I highly recommend it and hopefully will be coming back.

This is a rural retreat a few miles from the town of Gettysburg. The views out of every window are lovely, the kitchen had everything I needed, and bed was super comfortable. Will not hesitate to book again.

The Little Schoolhouse was a perfect place to stay, and to come back to at the end of the day. The house is lovely, the amenities were adequate for us. The location is only a few miles of easy driving (2-5 miles) to the Gettysburg Military National Park, literally driving along the side of the battlefield on Taneytown Rd. We couldn't have asked for a better location. Although there was a full kitchen, we were on vacation, so no cooking, but we did have coffee in the A.M. Close enough to any restaurants you might wish to eat at in Gettysburg. Only downside is the lack of convenient public parking.

Stayed here for a wedding in Littlestown. Very close by to both Gettysburg and Littlestown. Very clean.

Staying at the School House made my first trip to Gettysburg extra special! Perfect location in the pretty countryside not far from town and historical sites. Clean, quaint, comfy, and quiet - nice place to relax after a day of exploring. Communication with host was easy & helpful. Hope to stay here again when I return.

I have visited Gettysburg many times in my life however I have never rented a VRBO. All I can say is for this being my first experience it certainly was grand! Amazing transformation of an old school house to a one bedroom dwelling. Super clean and the hosts are outstanding. Excellent communication and tremendous accommodation all the way around. Thank you for my best stay ever in Gettysburg! I will be back! On a side note , if you like to cook the kitchen is nicely equipped and huge! I used it my entire stay.

We reslly enjoyed staying at the school house. It is spacious and had everything we needed. The rural location added contributed to a relaxing visit.

Amish school house was beautifully done and very clean. The only things that would make it better…….a charcoal grill and a fire pit. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The schoolhouse was perfect for our stay in Gettysburg. It was close enough to town that we could easily get where we needed to be but far enough out to have peace and quiet in the evenings. We had a minor issue the first day, but Katie and Ryan were quick to respond and resolve it. Plus, they checked on us later in the day to make sure everything was still okay. To me, having that kind of host makes their 5 star rating even more earned.

Fantastic and unique schoolhouse property a few minutes from Gettysburg. We highly recommend this adorable place. It has everything you could possibly need including peaceful evenings on the porch.We can't wait to go back.

We could not be more happy with our stay at this property. It's close to all the attractions, but feels like a complete escape. They also did an incredible job renovating the interior.

Everything about this was great. The host was very responsive to questions. The house was located in a fairly secluded area, yet was close to everything and very cozy. We would definitely stay here again if ever back in the area!

First time visiting Gettysburg with my son, home from law school and a history buff. The schoolhouse was an authentic touch to this historic visit. Property owners were very welcoming; check in was easy, and the house was comfortable, immaculate and every amenity thought of. Close to the National Park and Battlefields, and the town of Gettysburg. Just perfect.

The school house is a perfect location while visiting Gettysburg. Just minutes to the battlefield and town. The house was very comfortable, well equipped, beautiful inside, and very clean. I will definitely stay again when visiting.

This was our second time staying here. It’s a peaceful location outside of town, very quiet. There is room for some improvement. The refrigerator and shower curtain need cleaned and the flower beds are neglected. One toilet has a broken handle, so we didn’t use it. Check in day I asked if we could come about 30 minutes early, I didn’t get a reply. All said, I’d stay again.

The schoolhouse was a clean and lovely spot. We found everything as described, and we enjoyed our stay there. It's just right for a small group to be close to the battlefield, museum, etc. We would stay here again!

This lovely cottage is about 6 miles from Gettysburg in a country setting. Very comfortably furnished, we were able to relax after full days of sightseeing. We certainly had everything we needed and would gladly visit again!

Hosts were quick to respond to any questions I had.House was nice but could use a good once over cleaning for cobwebs. Many in the corners and on objects in the house. I killed five spiders during our stay. The toilet handle in the half bath was broken which made it very difficult to flush as part of it was missing. Overall, a nice place that is close to everything but away from the busy downtown. The suggestions for places to eat and shop were also a nice addition! I would add the Lincoln Dinner as a very good place to eat also!Im confident the things I mentioned above will be taken care of by the hosts and overall we had a nice stay!

This house was amazing! Everything was perfect, check in was a breeze, and the owners were very nice. We ended up getting in late and they left some lights on for us which was awesome. I would definitetly come here again and recommend others to stay here as well.

This is our go to place to stay when in Gettysburg. It’s well maintained and clean. This little place has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is close to all the attractions but far enough away for peaceful, quiet nights.

We’ve stayed in the past and had a great time. A quaint clean and quiet place where you can kick your feet up and just relax, which is what we did and sorely needed to do. The owners are fantastic! Easy going and agreeable to deal with which is not often the case. This was again an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Beautiful country setting. Quite and peaceful yet a short drive from everything Gettysburg.

We had a nice visit. The house was comfortable and spacious. The only awkward part was the lack of window coverings. Not such a big deal in the livingroom, but the bathroom not having anything covering the windows was uncomfortable, especially considering one of the two windows is right next to the front door. Otherwise this is a cool little place to spend the weekend and its very close to all the places we wanted to visit.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the schoolhouse. We were outside of town, but still close to everything that we wanted to see in Gettysburg. It was a beautiful property and easy to find. Thank you!!

Our stay was great! The location was excellent. Super convenient to all the Gettysburg attractions but in a rural setting. The sunrises and sunsets at the house were spectacular! Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at the Schoolhouse. Ryan and his family were very accommodating in helping us do an early check in. The schoolhouse was perfect for my husband and I. Close location to hiking, monuments, downtown and tours.

As a busy dad, this property was everything I needed to decompress and get away from the stress of life. The home was quaint and quiet. The fields around it convey a sense of peace. Ryan was the most amazing host. He answered all questions promptly and was always ready to help out.

What Ryan and Katie have done to create this little home away from home is nothing short of amazing! What was once a one-room schoolhouse is now a very spacious and comfortable rental property at a reasonable price in a peaceful and serene area just south of Gettysburg, north of Littlestown and west of Hanover, PA. So much to see and do at your own leisure if you choose. This place is always clean (my 3rd trip here), comfortable, and offering modern amenities. We love it!
