The house is located in the beautiful and exclusive neighborhood of the Village of Cheshire offering walking distance to the Cheshire Fitness and Racquet club including indoor/outdoor tennis courts. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee & wine bar; as well as playground and parks with walking paths and creeks. This plus within 1.5 miles of downtown Black Mountain and 15 minutes from Asheville. Grocery store is less than a mile from the house.
Great owners who are very responsive. The house seems to never end and was stocked very well. If you have issues with stairs, this may not be the house for you. The area is beautiful and close to everything while still being tucked away.
We stayed for a week with four adults and two dogs. Pros: the location is great. We loved the paths around Cheshire. Everyday we’d find new paths to walk the dogs. There’s a cute tiny “village” with a small grocer and a couple of restaurants that you can walk to. The YMCA is walkable and amazing. $14 a day. The house is cute. It’s very quiet and good for sleeping. The kitchen was nicely stocked. Cons: The family room/kitchen is very small. Too tight for everyone to sit comfortably at the kitchen table without hitting your head on the fireplace mantle. The sofa was nice but only 3 people could watch a movie unless you rearranged the furniture. We had friends in to play cards and there is really no room for more than 4 people. The water pressure is terrible. Took forever to get wet. Also be aware they are building a house next door! The banging was very unpleasant. Hopefully it goes up quickly. Finally, there is only one small parking spot. The construction workers were blocking us in or taking our spot. The owner was responsive when we called her.
We absolutely loved the location of this property. The entire neighborhood was beautiful and the house was located very close to everything we wanted to visit. Also, there is a Black Mountain YMCA located right around the corner for those who like to exercise. The bed in the master was very comfortable and we got great sleep while we stayed.
The Roost was clean and cozy, and is close to tons of great hiking trails and to Asheville. Black Mountain is a great little town with lots of friendly people and great places to eat and drink. We highly recommend this vacation home and hope to revisit soon!
This is a unique property set in the most perfect location imaginable. We were close to EVERYTHING! We had great meals at fabulous restaurants. Cooked many meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Hiked trails. Saw the Asheville sights (Arboretum, Biltmore, Sunset Terrace). Everything was at our fingertips. The neighborhood is LOVELY - and you could have a great vacation just hanging out there! We arrived to a Ukulele Band giving a lawn concert - so fun! Honestly - this place is a gem!
We loved our stay here! The property is in an amazing location, incredibly clean and has everything you need on hand for your stay. We took countless walks on the neighborhood walking trails with our dogs and enjoyed coffee every morning on the deck. We have stayed at many other rentals in the area and this by far was one of our favorites! We will definitely be back!
Loved staying in the treehouse and the amazing village of Cheshire. The wrap around balcony in the trees was our favorite as well as the nearby hiking!
Although we were in the area for a funeral, the time that we stayed at this beautiful property made our time perfect and worry-free. The proximity to the interstate made it very convenient to be able to meet with other family members as needed and take in a few sights when time allowed. The picturesque, quiet neighborhood offered the peaceful time that we were each able find during this time. Thank you for a beautiful stay. It was perfect!
Our two families (7ppl: 3 kids under 12) were able to spend time together in the common area and cook meals in the fully-appointed kitchen. Everyone had their own sleeping areas, spent time reading on the decks, and made s’mores in the chiminea! Household instructions were clear, reasonable, and posted on the fridge for ready access. We were disappointed when we had to leave to go to our scheduled on-property Biltmore time! We likely could’ve stayed here the entire time AND visited Biltmore! There were books for the kids and reading material for the adults. Tissues would’ve been appreciated, but the cotton swabs in the bathroom were a bonus! It was easy to get tissues from the grocery store less than a mile away.
This is a unique property tucked nicely into a wonderful neighborhood. Easy access to hiking and Asheville. I’d highly recommend and hope to return for another stay soon
