There’s something about this place that just settles you. Maybe it’s the way the trees sway outside the windows. Maybe it’s the quiet hum of the woods at night. Or maybe it’s just the kind of home that lets you drop your shoulders and actually relax for once.

Welcome to Retreat at Upland—a private mountain home tucked into the hills of Berkeley Springs, WV. It’s where cozy meets convenience, and every corner whispers, you’ve got time now.
r>Where comfort meets character

Hosting up to 8 guests, this space was made for making memories—without sacrificing a bit of comfort.

Let’s talk bedrooms:

✅ Master bedroom with a king bed and a private balcony—a secret perch for sunrise coffee or sneaking away with a good book.
✅ Two more bedrooms, each with a queen bed—no bunk beds, no air mattresses, just real, grown-up comfort.
✅ Two full bathrooms, because mornings are smoother when no one’s waiting on the shower.

There’s a loft, too—great for reading, yoga, or that inevitable game of charades that someone insists on after dinner.
The wood-burning fireplace in the living room isn’t just there for show. It’s real wood, real warmth, and real crackling sounds that pair beautifully with a glass of wine and a quiet night in.
And if you`re cooking The full-service kitchen is ready for everything from charcuterie boards to family-style dinners. (Or microwave popcorn. No judgment.)

Outside space that feels like part of the house

Ever sat on a wraparound deck and watched the fog roll off the hills You’ll get your chance here.

✅ Large wraparound deck that catches both the sun and the breeze
✅ Screened-in porch for bug-free hangouts
✅ Campfire ring—because marshmallows don’t roast themselves
✅ Propane grill for burgers, steaks, or grilled peaches (trust us)

It’s the kind of setup that makes it easy to wander outside and forget to come back in.

All the practical stuff (without the fuss)

You want the getaway, but you also want your creature comforts. We get it.

✅ Smart TV in the living room
✅ High-speed internet (yep, even out here in the woods)
✅ Central A/C and heat—because mountain weather can be a little moody
✅ Washer and dryer, just in case adventure gets messy
✅ Private driveway and free parking
✅ Entire home is yours—no shared walls, no awkward neighbor run-ins

And no need to bring anything weird—linens, towels, and basic supplies are already here.

A little nudge, in case you need it

Berkeley Springs is known for its healing waters and artsy charm, but you don’t even have to leave the house to get that sense of calm. Retreat at Upland gives you the space to breathe, wander, reconnect, and maybe even slow down long enough to remember what weekends are for.

So bring the kids. Or don’t. Bring your best friends, your favorite snacks, your hiking boots, or just your sweatpants. This house can handle it..

And if you`re lucky enough to wake up after a fresh snowfall or a fiery fall sunrise Let’s just say you’ll be glad you booked.

Want a stay that feels like a real break Retreat at Upland is calling.

Exceptional view! Excellent booking process: very speedy. Beautiful deck, covered(for rainy days) and uncovered for full sunset experience, or late dinner under the stars. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything a good cook would need, including spices, pans, pots and packing supplies. I would recommend a complete set of wine glasses. They were kind of mixed and not enough for 5 persons. Rooms were very clean and very tastefully furnished and decorated. On this note, we appreciated the neutral, minimalistic style, while providing everything one might need. Lots of closets, bath and kitchen supplies. There are also lots of kids/family games, which we didn't use, but some might love. The surroundings are magnificent. If you want a peaceful and secluded retreat, that's the place for you! No cars, no neighbors, no road, nothing/nobody to see around, but pure nature! That's exactly what we needed. My parents loved it! They had a blast! My mom literally harassed me to post the review. Berkley Springs people are very nice. We shopped for excellent grass/pasture meat, organic milk, and vegetables at Creek View Farm, 10-15 minutes down the road. Such sweet people! We cooked everything we bought and ate it on the beautiful deck, under the shining stars, with a glass of wine and searching for the Ursa Major. Some people kind of complained about the private forest road to the cabin. We loved it! It was a path through deep forest towards peace and relaxation for a family reunion.

We loved our stay. Definitely needed a four wheel drive where we were at. Berkeley Springs is a great little town with great restaurants.

This property was in a great location for our needs. The home was very clean and well maintained. It has a beautiful view. The only fair warning is do not take a car that is low to the ground due to the road coming in. It is a good road, however, it was not made for a Kia Stinger.

It’s a great property with all amenities. Even internet worked throughout our stay. Need improvement on cleanliness as some deck furnitures and grill were dirty so we can’t use them.

Celebrated my husbands birthday at this mountain cabin and he is already talking about going back! It was so hard to leave this cozy cabin with incredible views of the mountains! The cabin was clean, well stocked, and felt like a home away from home. The road leading up to the cabin was super bumpy and a little tricky to navigate so having an SUV was extremely helpful but once we got there and knew the route, it was fantastic! HIGHLY recommend and we plan on being back soon!!

We were here for my friend’s bachelor party and we had much fun here. The property had many things provided that we did not expect which was very nice.

A beautiful spot, super private, very remote. The layout and amenities of the house were great for two couples. It worked very well for us, but the house is showing a little bit of wear-and-tear and could probably use a little bit of updating.

My sons and I stayed at the upland retreat for only 2 nights. We came into town for a funeral. Highly recommend getting some groceries and then finding the house before it gets dark. The drive from the road is about 8 minutes to get to the house. Just follow the ssigns. We had no problem finding the driveway but then the GPS had no idea where to go. We had no problems with cell service. Hope to stay again soon on better terms.

Once you get to the property, it is beautiful. The bedrooms were wonderful, the views were amazing. Wish we had stayed a bit longer. Only downside is getting to the property. You will need All-Wheel or 4 Wheel drive. It is out in the woods and up the mountain, there are signs but there is guessing work involved on which direction to take. We didn't leave after dark because we weren't sure if we could find our way back through the woods in the dark. You are given a gate code and it's just metal gate and a chain. I would still book again. It's beautiful and very private. If 60 year old chicks can get up there, anyone can!! Berkeley Springs Cottage Rental was wonderful because we had some pricing issues and they fixed everything. I will probably not book through VRBO again and go directly to Berkley Springs Cottage Rentals. VRBO is impossible to reach.
